Thanks for the quick reply. I'll definitely pick up an AVR with dual outputs then, for future proofing. I'll probably have to stick to HDMI 1 for now, though. I ran cables in the house, but only one HDMI to the living room and it'd be a heck of a lot of work (the holes I drilled are also basically packed already) to get another HDMI in the wall and through the attic to the AV closet.

Do you have a preference between 4:4:4 vs deeper bitdepth? For video, 4:4:4 vs 4:2:2 probably isn't a big deal, but obviously for text display, it could have an effect, although I'd probably have dpi scaling anyway and it wouldn't matter much...

I can probably still get $2K+ on the used market for my 75HU8550 + SEK + Video pack, which would make either the P65 a zero cost move or cut the cost for a P75 in half.

Thanks.
I will be hooking both up side by side and should have some comparison photos up over the next few nights.

I'm also glad they didn't use the quantum dot sheet on these displays since they are having issues with yellow banding on the reference series displays with it.

Sean, the P series uses a custom AOU panel with proprietary array designed by Vizio.

ATMOS and DD+ over ARC users...

We just finished hours of testing and confirmed that both ATMOS and DD+ work to our test devices including an Onkyo TX-NR646 receiver. You can ignore the 15min post I did before (was an issue with a speaker system, not our TV).

So anybody having issues outputting ATMOS or DD+ over ARC... please PM me.

Thanks

thank god lol. I really don't like sharp panels and am glad they went there own route to make there own display thank you for the quick reply. I can compare the reds to your picture and it looks very close to the color of the reference series.

My js9500 looks exactly the same as far as having a very vibrant red in this scene. I took a comparison photo to compare DV vs hdr10. I don't know if it's because the samsungs need a color adjustment but my sand has a reddish tone to it, could be part of the hdr10 grading whereas the dolby grade keeps the sand more natural looking.

For the owners here, what's the process on the tablet to turn on Game Mode? I wonder if it would be possible for Vizio to add a small button on the home screen of the app to toggle Game Mode on and off...

I've got a nice "sticky" going in the top post of the thread. I'm only putting info here that is not readily available AND provided by a credible source. So far all the great FAQ's have come directly from Matt McRae of Vizio.

PM me suggestions of anything else that's been seen or heard that could be compiled to eliminate some redundancy.

cute considering your still talking about the bedroom when your talking about the wood door when you said to forget about the bedroom....lol not so bright are you? anyway discussion is about the P series not "someone's bedroom". So either talk about the tv set or find some other thread to tread on please lets be focused on what were suppose to talk about here again sorry Thomas.
