Something is screwy with that title. Backlight setting does not change mid range luminance like with other titles - furthermore, peak luminance actually appears to INCREASE as backlight is DECREASED. I want someone to independently verify this.
Just throwing this out there...it sounds to me like PR
is the title working "correctly" for lack of a better term. If you think about it, if the backlight setting sets the mid point and you have it maxed out then everything is "squeezed" into the peak area of luminance so overall it looks washed out. Now as you lower the mid-point via the backlight control, the peak areas are "staying" at full brightness but the rest of the image is dropping back to where it should be so it makes it "appear" as if the peak is getting brighter when in fact you are just improving the contrast ratio. Of course, I could be totally out to lunch...
