For the large amount of HDR content on Disney+ this is a loss, hopefully the app is updated to support 4K HDR in time.
If that content is in DV, you WON'T see it on the Samsung. If it is in both DV and HDR10, all bets are off.

Just like that since today, my Netflix app doesn't work on TV. Anyone have some advice? I tried to install again app, but won't load! Just a black screen. Other apps like YouTube are working. Netflix is also working on my phone and laptop.

Neither the internal Samsung app or the app on the PS4 Pro had working HDR. I found a copy of it elsewhere and it played it displayed HDR just fine using Media Player Classic on my PC. The Mandalorian looked phenomenal.

I know about the lack of HDR on the Samsung app, but it's surprising that the PS4 Pro doesn't support it either. My Xbox One X supports HDR on Disney+, and so does my Fire Stick 4K.

Very bizarre. I'll play around a bit more but it seemed easily reproduceable and I was seeing it on both the episodes I had recorded of TDM.

Are you on the latest firmware for both the TV and the Tivo?
Don't forget (unless it's been fixed) to watch UHD from the TiVo (e.g. Seven Worlds One Planet) you have to select 2160p ONLY.

100Mbit/s (sadly)

So network video playback with higher bitrates tends to stutter, I had more luck with wifi in those cases, but the connection is never 100% stable

Nah, they fixed that. You can select multiple resolutions in the Tivo options now and it’ll display at whatever is closest to the native resolution. Mine switches seamlessly between 1080i and 2160p as required.

You have files with higher bitrates than 100Mbits/s !?

Is this a known issue or has anyone else seen it? I can't test it against the native Netflix app because it's decided to stop working all together. Using other apps, I see some flashlighting, but I know that is normal due to the backlighting.

I also wrote about this last year, and i even sent an email to netflix about it. It happens on HDR content with the Netflix app. Netflix didn't understand the issue, even after linking them to videos showcasing the issue. I don't have access to an exterior device that has Netflix and HDR, so i can't be 100% sure it only happens on the tv's app.

Has anyone on fw 1241 noticed any motion/judder issues?

I swear since the update I get judder issues on select channels through Sky (UK) - mainly noticeable on the BBC and ITV channels.

I used to use custom settings and had judder on low (about 3) and everything else on zero or off. However this used to give bad judder on these channels so I always turned motion controls off and it's been fine.

However since the update, even with settings off, I have noticed bad judder on these channels - mainly soaps or things like game shows. Tried turning motion settings on and it does not help.

Unsure if it's coincidence that I noticed it since the update when in fact it's something to do with Sky or the broadcasting channels or not.

I posted a few days ago about intermittent judder on TV content that seems new since the last firmware upgrade. Again with motion settings off, where it's always been fine before. I'm not entirely convinced yet that I've managed to fix it.

No, but it broke my Smartthings integration with Alexa

Have you tried a soft power reset? With the TV on, press and hold the remote power button until the TV turns off and then on and displays the Samsung logo. Worth a try.

So I know that the KS8000 Disney + app doesn't support 4K and HDR, so I used my Fire Stick 4K and to me HDR looks washed out. Anyone else having issues with that?

Sorry I missed your post but I'm glad it's not just me that's noticed it! Must be a thing and not just making it up then!

Oh dang, I sold my smartthings when I got it free through Samsung. I don't have any smart enabled stuff in the house unfortunately but here's to hoping they fix both our issues

Yeah and tbh I have to do this often due to various issues such as no sound sometimes, black screen flicker issue when using certain display settings on PS4 Pro which they never fixed etc

A Samsung Smartthings hub wasn't required; it worked on my Alexa Echo Dot. Not the end of the world but now I have no manner of turning my TV off by voice, unless I use a smart plug. Doing that works, but hard cuts the power (like pulling the plug).

I asked above if that was an unwise thing to do but got no replies

I'm having issues with BBC America on Dish Network since the update. Might be a coincidence or a BBC issue though. I'm not noticing issues with any other channels

I'm thinking about purchasing a 2.1 Atmos soundbar. The one in particular is the Vizio SB36312. I know this tv does not support DD+. But I have a 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro. Can I still get Atmos by way of the shield? If so, how would I know the TV is outputting it.

Via ARC, it won't, regardless of whether the Shield can output it or not.

If you mean Shield ->Sound bar ->TV, that would depend on the Shield. Check its specs and/or look here:
https://www.avsforum.com/forum/39-ne...t-top-box.html

The TV itself will not pass ATMOS in any way, shape, or form.

The KS8000 has a Wide Color Gamut, that the NU6900 doesn't. The NU6900 reaches around 400nit peak brightness, where as the KS8000 hits 1400nits. Other things the KS8 does better... Viewing angle, contrast ratio, motion handling, & more hdmi ports.

I know all of this because a friend just got the NU6900 and wanted me to help him set it up. Did some reading to let him understand the limitations of his set, which I found surprising.... They should not be listing these TV's as HDR capable when they really aren't. If you can't show the WCG or even reach the brightness needed, you aren't getting the key features of HDR.

There's other factors, but besides the KS8000 having a slightly lower Color Range than newer High End TV's, it's still a beast of a set that doesn't need upgrading until the new HDMI spec is fully released and features along with it.

Did you end up finding out any more information about this? The same thing is happening with mine and it's seemingly only when playing letterbox HDR content in Netflix. I'm also using an Apple TV 4K. Anything HDR from Amazon Prime looks just fine whether letterbox or not.

Not a single thing

It's so, so irritating to me as I've moved this TV to my living room and my wife always wants to watch Netflix there instead of our media room. I can't even pay attention because I'm so irritated by it!

It's the new shield. Here is what my setup would be. Shield to Soundbar to TV.

Are you saying that there is no way to have Atmos on the KS8000?

If I wanted Atmos while watching a uhd disc or movie/show on Netflix, Vudu, etc on this tv I wouldn't be able to, even if soundbar and content is atmos capable.
