RESPONSE FROM SAMSUNG RE: MISSING SOURCE ICONS

As of this afternoon, the engineers were trying to replicate the issue in their lab. They requested screenshots, model and firmware version numbers, and a list of the various devices that users of the KS Series have connected to their TVs. The chief of tech support and the director of product development are also being kept informed. The fact that at least three separate firmware versions are involved, across various models from Canada, the USA, and the UK is making the issue particularly difficult to troubleshoot. They first need to replicate the issue before they can identify and work from there to find a reliable solution. They appreciate the input of AVSF members who've devised workarounds, but they feel that owners should not have to deal with this issue at all.

Could you ask them about having Game mode properly save HDR settings ( or automatically adjust )?

From what I've been told previously, the HDR settings are separate from other settings, regardless of the mode you're in. So for example, standard GAME mode settings will be different from the GAME mode settings when the TV is actually receiving an HDR signal from a game. Of course, you may make some adjustment to the video settings for HDR, but only if you engage HDR mode by feeding an HDR signal to the TV at the time you make the adjustments. I expect more detailed information will become available once there is an assortment of HDR games out.

My TV hasn't been able to connect to the internet since I got it but I also don't care much for the smart features of using app and if I did I have the UHD k-8500 connected and can use that.
For me it's all about updating the firmware for the tv which I used a USB to do.

It sounds like there was a recent update but every time I check the samsung website the only one they have up there is the 1121 one

I've searched everywhere and can't figure this out. I changed around some sources in my living room and now the OCB seems to be confused. It thinks the old sources are still plugged in. Is it possible to reset the OCB so it can correctly see the sources?

Right-click on the Download button and choose to save the file.

Amazon frozen (other apps work) - 1131 firmware?

My Amazon is frozen. I just got firmware 1131, finally (NJ USA). Tried removing and restoring Amazon App to no avail. Anyone seen this?

Need help. I have UN65KS8000 connected to a HW-J650 soundbar and two Radiant360 R1 for surround (all through wifi). Setup has worked since June 2016. Yesterday (9/22/16) the TV updated to firmware 1131. Now the soundbar lost center channel from all sources (cannot hear anything from center channel, voices low/muffled coming from left/right and sub). I tried resetting tv and soundbar but problem persists. I've spent three hours on tech support but they don't seem to know what they are doing.

I updated the firmware hoping that other problems would be fixed (namely apps such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now crashing). With 1131, apps are still crashing but now my soundbar is broken!

By the way, I tried connecting to the soundbar with optical cable and it works perfectly. The problem is I need to connect through wifi in order to use my Radiant360 surround speakers.

is anyone else experiencing this problem? It's driving me crazy that Samsung has made the problem worse with 1131 and they don't seem to know what they're doing.

Trying the 'Request Support' on TV (65KS8000), gave my cell number. Anyone tried this - how long until response? Tried TV on/off (of course). Network signal strong.

Freezing/Crashing Apps

My Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, have been freezing/crashing since 1121. If you can, please read my previous post.

They called me within 30 minutes, in California. I've used this feature five times since I bought the tv and soundbar.

Hold down the power button on the remote until the TV reboots.
It is super annoying they don't have a real force close app button.

If you call them they are going to have you reset the smart hub which will lose all apps and login

About 49" where the legs connect to the TV. 53" where the front legs rest on the TV stand.

I don't see your previous post. Does your Amazon App come back overnight? Does anyone know a direct line to Samsung Support - I'm not sure how long the 'Support' option on TV takes to return call? How about restoring previous Firmware from USB - can someone provide 1121 Firmware link?

Poor Signal - THANK YOU! Holding down power button till TV reboots did the trick. Nice, my faith in humanity (and this message board) is restored (along with my Amazon!)

It's interesting that the two methods of reducing this posterization that they noted was switching to an uncalibrated mode, or turning on HDR+. My 65KS8000 hasn't shipped yet, otherwise I'd test this myself, but I'd like to see that Zero Dark Thirty scene uncalibrated and calibrated, with HDR+ turned off and on. Perhaps that would shed some light on what exactly seems to be the cause of this posterization.

I've also find you can force close a single app. With the app open, hold down the back button on the remote. I have to do this almost daily because the YouTube app bugs out. The videos are all collapsed on each other on the left, and the "back button to edit" display stays in the lower right on videos.

Unfortunately this lets you get out but does not relaunch the app, Amazon hangs and won't respond to buttons but the TV only lets you go back into it in the same condition it was in.

Its a want thing over a need, I have a 2013 55" UN55FH6030. But upgradeitis, might be setting in, then I wonder about sales coming up around the holidays. The open box price though, makes me think it wont even get that low with the sales.

Watch out for the generic takeover control over your TV and then they reset everything.....I stop them at remote access.
