OLED is there now.

I think the other part you're missing is that low black levels = higher contrast. That is the most important aspect of PQ, especially in a dark room.

Based on a small sample (one), I've been entirely pleased with the 49" KS8000. No obvious light bleeding, the back hasn't separated from the body, etc. I haven't seen stutter on my TV cable (Comcast Xfinity, 1080p60), and I've been pleased with UHD/HDR movies (at 24 FPS) from a Samsung UBD-K8500 player. No obvious motion defects. I have had some loss of audio sync issues with the combination, if I pause a movie for a few minutes. (Work around: stop and restart the movie. The "resume" feature makes that painless.) I have managed to avoid getting handprints on the screen, even though I set it up without help. (Advantage of a dinky little 49" set, I suppose.)

My only complaint so far is that I could get a 55" set today for the same price as the 49", which I purchased 3 months ago. (Or an LG 55" OLED for $2k, US.)

Your mileage, as always, may vary.

Might want to look at your receipt.
It doesn't actually say anything about price matching, it mentions returns exchanges, so I guess you could use a return as a reason to get a better price. Below is from their website.

Buy your gifts and other items this holiday with the peace-of-mind of easy returns. Almost every purchase made throughout November and December can be returned through January 15, 2017.
Purchases made between Oct. 30 — Dec. 31, 2016 have an extended return period through January 15, 2017, excluding items purchased with a third-party contract (ex. Mobile Phone carrier contracts, AppleCare monthly plans, DirecTV, etc.). All other terms and conditions of our Return & Exchange Promise apply.
My Best Buy Elite and Elite Plus members have an extended holiday return/exchange window. Elite members have through January 30, 2017 to return or exchange products purchased between October 30 and December 31, 2016, while Elite Plus members can return or exchange purchases made in that timeframe through February 14, 2017. Previously mentioned exclusions apply.

I wouldn't feel bad, I'm on my FOURTH KS8000.

I took it back on Saturday 11/5 and exchanged it for another one, I showed the Costco employee a video of the issue and their 2 cents was that it was a defective screen. Now, by Sunday night I was noticing it on the new TV as well. I've tried to scour the internet for similar issues reported about the TV itself, as well as issues specific to my cable provider (Time Warner) but haven't found anything.

What are the odds I got 2 defective TV's? Possibly a bad batch from the factory? Or maybe they were dropped/damaged in shipping to the store? I'm a little hesitant to exchange this for a 3rd TV but I really like the TV and want it to work out.

Do any videophiles out there recognize this issue? Help! Hopefully the pictures I attempted to upload do it justice since I'm not able to post a video, it is very distracting while watching TV.

Id suggest waiting for an official release for your market. I know its tempting though.

Well, things would have been fine if a couple of you didn't make it immediately clear that you were going to be affected by choice-supportive bias.

Quite frankly I'm surprised. Forza Horizon 3 came out September 27. I'd have figured any configuration issues would have been squared away with the KS8000. I don't know how much of this issue is the KS8000's fault (if any), and how much of it is the XBOne/software. Either way, I personally can't get a good image unless it's SDR with both consoles.
Forza 3 has a Brightness and HDR Brightness slider ingame..

Did you join the thread just to say you don't like your set? That's how it came across, so that's why you received the responses you did.

However, if you are looking for advice on improving the picture quality of your set, you may want to clarify that so help can be given.

My KS is currently wall mounted and looks quite well up there however, my wife is in the den remodeling mood and the location I would have to move it to would require a stand. I have researched several stands but just can't wrap my head around having to go this route. I cannot imagine what the KS would look like on various stands. Would some of you guys who are currently using stands, be kind enough to post pics of your setups as to give me an idea how they look? Much appreciated.

This is similar to the one I use to use before I wall mounted. The model I used was Vitoria but doesn't appear to be available anymore.

Not in that price range. It's just for my bedroom.
My cousin got a new Sony and looks great, was about same pricing. These sets aren't cheap and I'm a firm believer of being happy of what u chose to trade for that money. I was never a plasma person so I can't comment on the blacks but pq seems to be a combination of things and just because it might not be dark as you are used to, maybe other attributes will outshine that short coming. The Vizio is supposed to be good as well, same pricing point.

I also agree with this statement; however I get it, you were like, yeah 4K HDR! then you watch something and it's like what's this? Man my plasma has better blacks than this! I would be pissed too. Mess with pic settings a bit, search the thread for others settings and see if they look good to you. pop in a cool bluray or UHDbluray. If you don't like it after that, bye bye felicia!

I am a fan of slight SOE in my settings that always seems to make the pic a little more lively to me.

Calling someone a troll for not liking a television is even worse, and wrong in my view. Where does it say in the forum rules you can't post things that you don't like?

It doesn't occur on any other source e.g. Xbox One S. Others had the issue also but don't remember seeing any fix.
Any update on this? Got my KS8000 today and noticed the same thing with my Comcast/Xfinity X1 box. Seems to occur every couple minutes. Very noticeable and annoying.

Also, I noticed stuttering/juddering on TBS HD during Seinfeld even though I have the Rtings auto motion settings set to custom and the values both at 0 per their suggestion. I also tried low values of 3 on each and still have the issue. Anyone have any tips?

I apologize for coming across as calling him a troll (I think someone else said that word). I was offering constructive advice on how to change the direction the conversation was going, but, sadly, typing is a poor method of conveying what emotion I had.

I'm looking for some help here, I just received a 65 inch KS8000 and feel like there is an issue with the TV. I wanted to check opinions though as I don't know if this is just how an edge lit led tv is or if there is an actual problem with the TV.

About a third of the way over from the left of the tv there is some bleeding of light from the leds. If you stand close to the tv you can actually see a little bit of the led/light where it doesn't look quite sealed. That doesn't quite come through well in the pictures but I'll post them anyway.

I put 2 pictures of up close pictures of the potential issue and one from afar with a black screen.

What do you think? Should I return the TV to Samsung? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Anyone on here order their tv through Samsung website? Was wondering how long it took for Samsung to send a shipping notification? I ordered Saturday and I'm still sitting on "preparing order for shipment? Is t normal or am I just getting impatient?

Well after waiting a very long month, my 65KS8000 was finally delivered and wall mounted this afternoon.👍🏻 Went on Sanus's website, used their height finder for my wall mount and tv, drilled the holes exactly as instructed and it ended up sitting about 45" to center of screen, 3" higher than I wanted to be. Hopefully it won't be too noticeable, seeing that the optimum height to center is 42"? Having said that, I checked the box and got the FA01 panel, didn't notice any bezel separation and if I have some time tonight, I look forward to doing some screen tests....fingers crossed🙏🏻
