My KS8000 can't double as a space heater like my old F8500 plasma could.. :P

I have to admit that when I first set up it was hard to see a better picture in the KS8000. I was almost ready to return it more than once. I happen to get it a couple weeks before the Olympics and actually tested them side by side. After some time playing with settings and seeing how good PQ is with 4K/HDR I was more than happy to move on from plasma.

Does anyone know if the built-in Netflix app can play native 24p/25p sources? For example, The Crown plays at 25p on my Fire TV 4k box. But not much info on the built-in app other than 2160p.

I ordered via Samsung as well. Was on backorder so I waited 2 weeks. Ive heard others have had to wait longer.

Give them a call and see when they expect their next orders to arrive at warehouse.

New KS8000 owner here...very happy with the display but can't seem to get a clear answer regarding HDR in game mode.

When the TV is in movie mode HDR engages fine. My backlight defaults to max and I get a notification on the top of the screen.

However, when in game mode, I believe HDR is engaging but I receive no notification nor does the backlight default to 20. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Or must I manually change my backlight setting when playing HDR vs non HDR games?

The big draw for me in addition to the excellent reviews on picture quality was also the low input lag for HDR gaming.

Ugh.. just realized my feet are backwards on mine. they're pointing outwards properly but not actually in the whole way. So I have the entire weight of my TV on 2 small points of the bezel on top of wrong feet. Can't believe I missed this. There was only 1 guy delivering it instead of 2, and I felt rushed helping him out, he put the feet on and asked me to help him flip it over and put it on the stand.

Getting it mounted on the wall tomorrow. Hoping the bezel isn't cracked and that it will last another 12 hours or so.

You said earlier that it was back ordered, now you are saying 1-3 days?

When I ordered my 65" KS8500 on Saturday said shipping in 2-5 business days. I checked today (same tv on Samsung website) it says "backordered". I hope I get mine shipped this week. If not, I am canceling and getting it from Best Buy. F**k the money!

So when you ordered (meaning when you pressed "buy" button), did it say "ships in 1-3 days" or "backordered"? Could not be both at the same time.

Ok, again... When I ordered, the website showed 2 to 3 days. However it was actually on backorder so I had to wait 2 weeks for delivery. The website will not show its on backorder thats why I suggested to call them.

I only have one game on the PS4 Uncharted and it did show the HDR message on top.

I'm done with this edge lit crap from Samsung. These TV's should have Full Array backlighting for the price they are asking. Also, the local dimming is total garbage. Who wants a part of the screen to light up in bright scenes? The quality control is garbage and I don't feel like buying my 3rd set. First 65KS8500 had what looked like dark liquid stains between the glass and panel and my new one which I set up today has bad backlight bleeding. Worst is in the bottom left corner.

My newest 65KS8500

It'll be fine. The legs were confusing. It's L and R when looking at the back of the TV (I know, makes ZERO sense). I made the same mistake, and the TV was fine. You just have the legs on the wrong side of the TV.

Hmm, sorry I can't agree with that.

If you want FALD, then it will always cost more. I see you have the KS8500. That's the cheapest of the 3 bendy models available to you in the SUHD range. You can't reasonably expect to get FALD on the cheapest model. If you want FALD you have to go up two models to the top of the range, the KS9800. Even the next one up is still Edge lit.

Each year one model in the samsung range hits the sweet spot for value for money, and this year it's the KS8000 (KS7000 in Europe).

You are doing nothing wrong, please don't worry.

In Standard and Movie, the TV remembers two sets of memory settings, one for SDR and one for HDR, and it auto switches.

Unfortunately in Game mode, at the moment, it only has one set of settings - so yes, you do have to manually change Backlight and Contrast. It's a pain but we are hopeful that Samsung will address this.

It's a great TV. There have been many firmware updates. Fingers crossed!

I'm going OLED. Well worth the money for an amazing image and I won't have to worry about bleeding/glowing or crap viewing angles. Burn-in and image retention doesn't bother me at all since the tv won't be in torch mode.

BTW, we all know why Samsung held back full array and it has nothing to do with lowering the price. They just want to entice people into buying their really expensive KS9800. Vizio has full array on their cheap models. No excuses.

Oled still years away from being reliable. Go read the threads and you'll see that it has its own set of problems.

You should obviously get what you want but the grass isn't always greener.

Very true but you must understand that I'm speaking out of frustration. I may try and order my third 65KS8500 or perhaps a 65KS8000 or land a 55" OLED/65" P Series Vizio on or around Black Friday.

Just wish I had better luck is all.

Yeah I totally understand. I had to exchange last years set (js8500) until I got a good one and it was annoying but I knew it would eventually work out.

If you have had so much trouble with the 8500 and you don't really care or need the curve get the 8000. I promise that when you get a good set you'll be happy and the issues you dealt with won't matter anymore. This series is pretty damn good. And until oled and fald become cheaper and mainstream the 8 series is really the best bang for your buck for what it offers. Plus the deals going on help too!

It really is just luck. I had to wait until I got my 2nd 49" KS8000 to be happy with it since my first one arrived with a cracked screen. The second one has 3 dead pixels but since I can't notice it while gaming or normal viewing, I've just accepted it. Minimal bleeding ( it's always going to be there on these panels ) and I didn't want to lug that huge box to UPS again.

Then there's my 65" KS8000 that I got a few days ago that was shipped with just the retail box - no protection whatsoever and had a HUGE gash on the front. The hole was deep enough that I could actually feel the cardboard protecting the TV inside. Thankfully it wasn't damaged and the TV is about as perfect as you'd want it - very minimal bleed and 0 dead pixels. Talk about luck. I know I should have went with white glove service but hey, it worked out

IMO, I would try again. I know it's frustrating, but this TV is so worth it. I wouldn't have bought it twice if it wasn't lol. If I were you though, I'd try complaining to whoever you bought it from ( hopefully Amazon since their customer service is amazing ) and try and get some compensation. Try and explain your situation and tell them it's unacceptable that you got those terrible sets when you're paying top dollar. If you bought from Amazon they're usually sympathetic and will compensate you. Not sure about other retailers unfortunately.

Unfortunately I purchased my 65KS8500 from Samsung so I'll have to wait until Fed Ex picks up the TV and delivers before my refund is processed. I love the curve but it obviously suffers from more issues than the flat version. Or so I'm hoping...

Seems like my TV is broken. It's gone mad. It's showing picture of Donald Trump as USA president.

Is it somehow possible for me to connect 2 bluetooth headsets to this TV at the same time?

Say my wife and I both want to put headphones on (don't want to wake the baby )

Would this be possible?

BTW, we all know why Samsung held back full array and it has nothing to do with lowering the price. They just want to entice people into buying their really expensive KS9800. Vizio has full array on their cheap models. No excuses.
nothing personal but the vizio p series is garbage. lots of people on their 5 or 6th tv. lots turn off fald because it doesnt work right.. i would rather have quality than cheap made.
as for the curve only on this site do people think it has more problems. zero on mine and lost of reviews have it fantastic. less than.00000001 of people who have the 8500 even know this forum exists.
