They only had two in stock on Friday, so I didn't want to chance them running out. I figured I would just take in the receipt and get the price adjustment. I stopped in this morning to get the lower price and she said they are being very strict this year and there are absolutely no price adjustments for Black Friday advertised specials. She was very polite about it and said she was a manager and they were given strict instructions not to adjust it for any reason.

I then said "I could return it and buy it under the new price, correct?" Nope. She said the guidelines clearly stated that if someone wanted to return an item that was in the ad, they must physically bring the item in to do the return. This means that I need to pull the mounted tv off the wall, box it up and bring it back to get the refund. She was very nice about it, but said they were instructed to make no exceptions.

Rather than driving 30 minutes home, spending an hour or more tearing it off the wall and taking it back, I simply went into the store, bought what ended up being the last one in the store and never leaving with it - I just returned it using my original receipt. The same manager did the return and just laughed and said "that's one way to do it". The guy who worked in the tv section told me that they put 12 of them out before the store opened and I was taking the last one 40 minutes later. Glad I stopped in when I did.
When I did my return and re-buy to get my 2nd price adjustment, the first option the lady said was to go get one, go through the checkout and buy it. Then just return the one I just bought using the other receipt with the higher price. So some might tell you to do that, in the end they didn't make me do that and just did my return re-buy with paperwork only. So what they told you I can verify you might have to do that.

Other than Life of Pi (that I know of), any movies that take advantage of full screen (on UHD disc)?

This is if Netflix is your primary video source.
Unfortunately, I have Tivo through the receiver to HDMI1, then Netflix and the LAN streaming apps with a digital optical audio going back to the receiver. So I want to seamlessly switch between all three. Going back and forth between the Tivo and the two apps is a bit tricky.

Hey Gang. I just ordered the 60KS8000 to use w/ my Xbox One and soon to be purchased PS4 Pro. I also have a DirecTV box.

Setting up the Xbox (non 'S' version) and DirecTV box should be pretty easy. As to the PS4 Pro, I keep reading that enabling HDR Game mode requires you to go into the settings on the TV and change the backlight to max, the 'Smart LED' to 'High' and the 'Color Space' to 'Native'.

If I read it right, it sounds like you have to do this every time you start up a HDR Game? Is this true? Any idea if Samsung is going to patch the firmware so it sticks? Apologize in advance if this has been answered in the prior 399 pages.

Hi all. Sorry for a stupid question: if I am watching a Blu-ray disk on the 65KS8000, will I notice a substantial difference in quality between playing that disk on an ordinary blu-ray player vs a UHD player? Or can the 65KS8000 handle the up-conversion regardless of the source? We purchased an XBox One S, but aren't really "feeling it" from a gaming standpoint; just wondering if we should look into a UHD player, such as the Samsung UBD-K8500, or is that not really needed if watching ordinary Blu-ray disks?

Does anybody know what the "Samsung Extra" icon that pops up at the top right corner of the screen is?

It seems to be unselectable from the remote

You will not notice much of a difference. All those devices upscale with about the same quality.

Question Unibrak UNB550 mount for 65" TV?

You can do pullups off of it with it fully extended and it doesn't even sag. Your method of attaching to your wall will fail before this thing gives an inch.
aron7awol, Will the Unibrak wall mount support the 65" TV?

Still waiting on my tv that I purchased last Saturday. I noticed today prices went down even further. The 65" inch is now $200 cheaper than I purchased it for. Has anyone had any success getting money back through Samsung ??

Tried, they said it's holiday season and they can't do anything about the price.

Edit: one option is that you cancel and order again, but I myself don't have that patience.

I did have success in this exact situation and got them to refund me $100. I did have to call twice, and had to email them a screenshot showing the new price.

Ever since the 1142.1 update the youtube app will not keep me signed in not long after I exit the app or turn off the TV.

So every time I open the app I have to activate it on my phone or computer to access my playlists.

I tried Samsung support's steps with the DNS but i did not reset my Samsung hub or do a TV reset as they suggestted because it just started when the firmware was updated.

Happens quite often for me. Something tells me that Tizen doesn't manage memory very well.

wow, nice! Did you use the new Citi Costco card? I am looking at the 55 inch KS800D from Costco. Now you have me nervous they may sell out. There was about 15 in stock on Saturday. I am trying to figure if this is the TV I need? Here is my post from the help me choose thread-

Looking to upgrade my old 32 inch Vizio from 2008. Finally moved out of small apartment into a condo. Viewing distance is about 6-10 feet.
Looking at three 55 inch TV's.
Primary use is cable TV, DVD watching, some movies, eventually Xbox one being hooked up.
Most likely buying the TV from Costco.
I really like the Samsung Samsung KS8000 (UN55KS800DFXZA) for $997 but am I buying too much TV for my needs?
Also considered the Vizio P55-C1. My 32 inch Vizio really did the job for us for 8 years!
For a more budget tv, I was also looking at the Vizio M55-D0 for $459 or even the Samsung KU630 models for $550.
Should I splurge for the KS8000 or look at the more budget TV's?

I called today about that. The prices are $100 less on both of the sets that I purchased last week. They told me to just email then screen shots and they’ll process the price match. Post again when I actually receive it.

Go with KS8000s.

I upgraded my 2007 42" and 52" Vizios to the 55" and 65" KS8000s.

The Samsungs are amazing!
