Can anyone confirm that the MGO app here has and supports Vidity. Got the passport cinema and it's not seeing the movies that are preloaded.

The passport seems to be really confusing. And it is now Fandangonow? Like other apps on the KS series probably not supported yet.

Seems the movies are preloaded but you still have to buy them to view them. Look at the Amazon reviews

Samsungs response

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I understand that Amazon app is not displaying in HDR content in your TV:UN55KS8000FXZA, while the 2015 JS series TV is displaying UHD content in HDR. I also see that you would like to know when the Amazon app will be updated.I do understand your concern. I have checked the information for you and see that the TV UN55KS8000FXZA is capable of displaying the HDR content and it is up to Amazon app to provide the content in HDR format. I hope you understand. For further assistance and information, please contact Amazon support.

Amazons response

I understand that you are concerned about your Samsung KS8000 2016 device not being compatible to stream Amazon videos in HDR format. I'm sorry for the disappointment this has caused you!

I totally understand that having wider options of compatible devices to stream Amazon videos in HDR format would be an added advantage to our customers. So as your mail has reached my desk and also considering your interest I feel like I should take this as a feedback and forward this issue to the Amazon instant video development team.

The development team will work with the manufacturers of the device and hopefully will make your device compatible to stream HDR format Amazon videos as well very soon. As Amazon is known as an Earth's most customer centric company we will definitely consider our customers feedback and comments as we always strive to provide exceptional digital experience to our customers.
Just sent Amazon an e mail as well. They apologized for it, and gave me a $5 credit on my account....

Concerning the silver bezel and feet for the KS8000, is it more of a matte silver finish or is the finish more shiny and reflective?

This is a welcome change as I always cringe (and have to leave the room) when the Best Buy delivery guys lay my new TVs face down, get out their giant power screwdrivers and screw in the stands.

I just picked mine up yesterday and I'd say the bezel is on the shiny side.

First Impressions on JS8500 - Soap Opera Effect and waiting for PTV's comments

I'm interested in what PTV has to say about his exchange. Update us on your experience when you have time.

I'm also considering the KS. Just set up the JS8500 (granted it is the 48 not the 55)" last night after having a 720p set for the past 10 years. A big difference to say the least - There is a lot that I like about it, but it will take some getting used to.

The soap opera effect is the biggest thing I am struggling with. There was pretty bad stuttering on FXHD "The Intern" last night. Not sure why that was happening, but that combined with the soap opera issue was giving me second thoughts on the new set.

I doubt I'll be watching many if any 3D movies so if there are any good reasons to upgrade to the KS I would consider it. I have to be in the 48-50 inch range given my space (wall mount)

Ill be working on settings today to see if can fix the above mention issues.

Just ordered a 55" KS8000 from ABT. Got a better price than what is advertised on their web site. I had a 49" pre-ordered but decided to get bigger. I really liked the way it looks in person. Bezel is very small and to me, hardly noticeable.

Sure can, but it won't be delivered until next Friday. I'm out of town at the moment.

However, if you go to the ABT web site, they have a picture of the back.

Are you looking for something specific? I can tell you the back of my KS8000 doesnt have that sort of engraved look that the 9000 has. Just looks like a big sheet of black plastic.

No nothing specific, just a shot of the back side. Curious to see if they are using the same frames boards this year.

These are the best I could get with my phone. The light reflection made it hard to see and if i close the curtain its even harder to see. I took the plate off that covers the cord where the one connect box plugs into. The box is like a smooth hard plastic doesn't have that sort of line elegant look the 9000 has.

What is that horizontal strip across the back of the TV? Is it for ventilation?

I was at my local Best Buy this weekend, but they only had the 9000 and 9500 setup. Is the bezel flush with the screen on the 8000 series with the exception of the thicker bottom bezel?

Any reviews about the KS8000 as a PC monitor? Response time, etc? Especially how it compares to the js8500/9000

I know this thread was started for the 55" model but I'm just curious if anyone has the 65" version. I have one scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. As far as I can tell, there are no differences between the two models other than screen size.

I would say its flush for the most part. When you get to the edge(right and left side) you can feel a little bit of a bump of the frame but not much. Bottom of course is thicker.

the 65 KS800 or the Vizio P65. Becoming a tough choice. my HU8550 has been good but want to upgrade to 2016 tech.
are the blacks really not that good on this Samsung? I like to watch movies and play PS4 when I can.
