Just tried to use apps, games, netflix, youtube and none of them work. They will launch but the tv refuses to respond to the remote navigation commands.

I tried to update the firmware - not available
tried to reset the tv - reset screen launches but Does Not respond to the remote

Yes, I changed the batteries but that can't be the reason as the tv responds to commands to start, stop, navigate the primary menu to different inputs and apps

But, does Not respond to navigate within the progs. So useless.

Going to try a hard reset - shut off, unplug - leave off and then power back up again

I ve calibrate the tv with x1 Rite and Calman.

Somebody here said that they have problems with judder when watching tv, you have to put in the movie mode 1 and the problem is solved, hope it helps. Sorry for my english.

Just ordered KS8500 65 inch and ill be mounting the tv to the wall. I read that ill need M8 1.25 x45MM (4) screws but i was wondering if the tv comes with spacers or washer for these screws to fit perfectly behind the tv? Also see the tv comes with a Input box does this box attached behind the tv?

It s not the tv is the remote, sometimes it s dead. Taking the batteries out and back in it helps( on my tv it dose) hope it helps

You connect the Samsung OneConnectBox to the back of the TV via a cord. You can place the OCB above, behind, below, or next to the TV but are restricted by the length of the cord.

Just an FYI to those unaware....using someone else's white balance settings is not recommended as each panel is different and require different settings. It's very likely using online settings will make your picture look worse than out of box settings. If you would like to have your white balance adjusted, get a true professional calibration or buy a meter and do it yourself. So use the above settings at your own risk.

I had my tv calibrated before the 1142 updated i since then i ve notice sime changes on the image. It was not the placebo effect, becouse when i checked again with x1 rite and calman, and ...yes, the update changed the values.
So if u paid someone to calibrate your tv, and u don t want to waste your money, watch out, Samsung dosen t tell us what exactly each update do.
I don t know it a the case with all updates, and if all mesess with the settings, but i can confirm that with this one , it did.

I apologize in advance if this question is too broad for this specific thread but figured I'd try as there are obviously a lot of knowledgeable people here. Specifically, my question pertains to using ARC to send audio from my KS80000 to my Pioneer VSX-822K receiver but I would like the option of selecting Optical when using my Xbox One. ARC works fine but for a specific game (Rocksmith 2014) I'd like to use Optical to reduce lag. I've posted in the model-specific receiver thread but it's a few years old and I'm not expecting to get much of a response. Anyway, my original post (in the Rocksmith forum) is posted below. It includes all model info and, I think, explains what I'm trying to accomplish.

"I apologize in advance as I'm sure these questions are asked to death here. Also, I'm not sure this is the right place as it may be a receiver / TV specific question. I just purchased a new Samsung KS8000 tv and I'm trying to optimize my setup to eliminate lag. Right now it's certainly playable but I know I'd have better success with minimal lag.

Prior to this TV I always ran all HDMI inputs through my Pioneer VSX-822K receiver. I then ran an HDMI out to the TV and the receiver handled input selection and processing. Lag was minimal but probably not ideal.

With the new TV I run all HDMI inputs (Xbox One, Cable, Blu-Ray) first to the TV (as recommended by Samsung) with an HDMI out from the TV to the receiver using ARC (audio return channel).

I have an optical cable from the Xbox to the Pioneer (connection is there) but can't figure out a way to force the receiver to use the Optical input in favor of the HDMI / ARC one. Also, I'm not sure how I should set my Xbox sound settings.

Again, I apologize if this is too specific for this forum but thought someone may have been down this road before. I'm going to post something similar in the forums for my TV and receiver as well but there's not a lot of discussion of Rocksmith there. I suspect that most would suggest that I just use the ARC and live with it.

Hey so I've tried the settings on rtings and I play in a mostly dark room with ambient light behide the tv and it does feel like it's straining my eyes a bit . So the obvious answer is turn the settings down but I don't know what settings to turn them to so I don't loose the hdr effect, and since I'm not real familiar with it I'm open to suggestions.
My light sheeting now on regular- BL 5 B40 C95 and smart led off
HDR- BL 15 and the rest the same as above

I emailed and online chatted w them. No luck on either

I had the reciver about 3 years ago so its hard to remeber, i m might be wrong, but when u r on xbox imput, push the signal sel, buton on rhe remote, and cycle until u r on optical, u should have sound thgru, optical

On the receiver, have you selected optical for the audio input for the XBOX or whatever source you are trying to use the optical for? Looked at page 25 of the receiver's manual (I hope I looked at the right manual)

An FYI to anyone ordering through Samsung. I ordered my tv nov 5 and won't be taking delivery on it until November 16. 11 days later. A long time if you ask me. Or maybe I'm just used to Amazon delivering stuff to me a day after I order it

I have a KS9500 4K HDR Samsung and when I watch movies weather Netflix or Bly-ray in dark scenes the blacks look very grainy and not clean. Do you think my TV is jacked up or is it normal? Thanks

At what level do u have the sharpness?

I think that's how it SHOULD work - but it seems as if the ARC is preventing me from changing the input or source. I can scroll through CD, SAT/CABLE, etc., but nothing is connected to those inputs so nothing changes. My understanding is that the ARC has to go into the receiver through the "HDMI OUT" - and that's the problem. ARC shows up as "TV" on the receiver. The Optical port is tied "TV" and I might not be able to change it. Unless I can find a way to reassign the Optical I think might be hitting a dead-end.

On your reciver u have diferent hdmi inputs, so u stil have to chose(on the reciver) what imput u want( blu ray, game etc) so from the reciver chose the xbox, then push signal sel until u have optical

Thanks - that is the correct manual. See my earlier response. I think by using ARC I might be prevented from using the optical port. It's not a big deal and I can probably live with it until I get a newer receiver (but that's hard to justify right now after new TV and Blu-Ray). But it's driving me nuts because there should be a way to do it. Thanks for taking the time to look up the manual. Much appreciated.
