Through DLNA. I bought the TV around a month ago, so it must have the newer firmware.

Don't be terrified. People, like me, don't post everyday to tell you how wonderful my 65 inch from May and my 55 inch from November are.

Protect yourself with a reputable retailer so you can return if not satisfied.

I'm pretty confused, so I'm mounting my tv and I'm using the spacers that came with the tv. My confusion is the depth of the holes on the back of the tv are different. Is that normal? The top holes are much more shallow than the bottom holes so the mount with essentially be curved? Also, there is hardly any screw sticking out of the spacer at all when hanging. Heeellllppppp

You'll have to take it up with a mod. They have posted several times this isn't a comparison thread or help me buy thread. Feel free to PM @DrDon and discuss with him the forum/thread rules.

Balla01, if you'll look at the back panel you'll see that it's very tapered at the top and much broader at the bottom for ventilation and leg mounting, etc. This is why there is a difference in the apparent depth of the spacers. I marked the head of one of the bolts and hand threaded it naked into the tv and counted 4 or 4 and a half rotations until bottoming out (I already can't remember!). You should do your own measurement. When I mounted the hanging hardware, I hand threaded again and got only 2 and a half til snug, but when I used the wrench I got about another rotation. The user's manual does caution to not over-tighten.

I have some 50mm screws and those are not long enough. I can't even get them to start to thread, there is maybe 1-2 and I can't seem to get them to thread. My mount is not bulky, but apparently it is thick enough to where 50mm screws will not work. I've just never seen a tv so awkward to mount.

So this is my confusion. The tv can save a Movie profile for a single source which is automatically changed when HDR source is detected. You are saying it can save another different profile in Standard, with HDR adjustment also, for the same hdmi source?

Same thing happened to me after 1154 update, home button wouldn't work and all my apps weren't showing, used my voice search on remote and said settings which took me to settings and I had to reset smart hub and reinstall all my apps and sign in again

The resolution was giving up. After the third set (exchanges) I returned it to BB and went with a 43" X800D. Which btw hasn't been perfect either. The first one of those had three bad pixels. The second one which I decided to keep has one.

I've given up the quest for a perfect panel. If you have one you're lucky or you don't sit up close enough to notice imperfections. I use mine as PC display and hence am in close proximity.

Anybody having sound issues while watching lower budget blu rays? Normally we use surround sound but the TV speakers are all the way up to 75 and you can barely hear it, not an issue on cable and most blu rays?? Any thoughts?

I noticed a change in the YouTube app yesterday. They have categories along the top now as opposed to the panel on the left as they had before. So something definitely changed with the app. The date still says 4/1/2016 though.

I was able to click "home" and it took me back to the old style with the panels on the left.

But the back button doesn't work. I thought I had broken the remote until I went into another app.

It's always something with the damn Youtube app on this tv.

It's maddening

Looks like this update screwed something up with the "game mode" while using my XRGB Framemeister. Every 10-15 sec the screen will hitch and the picture will split into different colors for a milisecond and appear back to normal. I've nailed it down to being the "game mode" on my KS8000 TV causing the problem that I pictured. There was a firmware update released today and I think it screwed something up. I played through a whole level in Mario World without getting the flicker, when I enabled game mode and played it again I got the flicker multiple times. This has never happened until after this update.

This makes me sad cause I literally don't know what to do, the game used to look so great with HDR.
I would check your settings to make sure they haven't changed.

My settings will revert back to 'default' all of the time, especially for the HDR movies and games. Also, for HDR movies, the backlight is supposed to be as dark as possible and so is your room. I am not sure if this is the case for HDR games as well as the only ones I have are NBA 2k17 (where I have to turn Dynamic Contrast on High and the backlight on 18-20 to get it to look colorful and not washed out), and the RE7 demo where I turn DC on low and the backlight on 7, but I'm playing in the dark and it's a dark ass game.

Check your settings.

Serious? Does it matter if you're in HDR+ mode though? Doesn't the tv automatically detect whether you're watching/playing HDR media and put it in the mode regardless?

Isn't HDR+ just a separate set of settings that you can save so when you are watching HDR media, put it in this mode and it will remember your 'hdr custom settings'?

And HDR mode (the real mode not the setting mode) will activate if playing HDR media if you're using standard or movie mode, correct?

Question for you PS4 Pro owners. For HDR games do you always set the Backlight to 20 and Contrast to 100?
I see some of you are using Backlight on 7 for HDR...isn't that really to low?

Yea the youtube back button not working started at same time peoples apps and stuff vanished too, when we were forced to accept that stupid terms of service crap about ads. That's when all this started it has nothing to do with a firmware update.

Correct. Standard and Movie both save HDR adjustments settings - your "HDR set" and your "normal set".

Lots of people want Game to also save its own HDR adjustment settings too, for obvious reasons!

I'm still confused about this, I can't understand how this would happen, I thought I saw a post about it the other day with a screenshot but when I searched over and over later that night I couldn't find it.
It's the same version of the App, with two different screen layouts? Something else surely must be causing it to drop into a different set of routines within the App.

No! Definitely not! HDR+ mode is a "Special viewing mode" to use when watching non-HDR content to simulate HDR. It does nothing to the brightnesses. It "intelligently" expands the Colours to stretch them into the Wide Colour Gamut (rec 2020) that HDR uses. Nothing else.

(It can also be used with real HDR content, if you choose, but real HDR content has already been very carefully graded to use the rec2020 Wide Colour Gamut, so you are doing extra processing on that picture, just like artificial sharpening or "digital noise reduction" or "dynamic contrast" or any of the other options which change the picture and give you something other than what was intended.)

Summary: "HDR+" is a really bad name for what that mode really does and has caused no end of confusion to users.

No again. Standard and Movie modes already do that. In Standard mode you have two saved sets of settings; your "HDR set" and your "normal set". Movie is the same. HDR+ mode is absolutely nothing to do with it!

Real HDR isn't a "picture mode" on its own, it's just different processing that the TV needs to do - just like having a "1080p input" and a "4K input" aren't different "modes".

However, in this thread we've ended up using the term "HDR mode" to talk about the TV detecting and displaying HDR content, but yes it is confusing.

Sort of. If you're in Standard or Movie and you feed the TV HDR media (detected with the new standard defined by the "a" in "HDMI 2.0a" :-) or via USB) then it will begin to decode and display [sometimes called "switching into HDR mode" -see above] that HDR content, and in Standard or Movie modes it will immediately switch to the "other" set of saved settings for your convenience.

I wish that the TV would change to say "Movie (HDR)" instead of "Movie" in the menus to make it clearer that it's got two saved sets, personally. The way it works is pretty confusing and takes time to get used to. We're "early adopters" and I'm sure the manufacturers will improve the UI for these things as everyone learns.

This allows you to have high Backlight, Contrast and "Smart LED" settings for HDR [within Standard or Movie] which you need. Without ramping these values up the TV can't do 1000 nits, or the very deep blacks and very bright colours that HDR demands. It also allows you to have "normal or lower" Backlight, Contrast and "Smart LED" settings for non-HDR viewing, still within Standard or Movie, to avoid burning your eyes/ruining the picture when viewing normal content.

HDR is easy to tell when it kicks in. The screen gets noticeably lighter.. bl to 20 is for hdr. if the game doesnt have HDR my setting is around 7. hdr+ is not HDR. its a simulated HDR. and no matter what the kings of avs say, try all modes including natural. I have seen a few sights say that movie mode is not correct and that natural is the one to use. personally i use both because i dont care if some1 here thinks he is the king of video. What looks the best to me is what i use.
