So one or the other occurs at turn on, I never get a clean turn on where the set is just ready to go. Not sure if this is normal behavior or I just got a bad TV?

As far as troubleshooting, I suspected it might have been my Amazon firestick I have plugged into the OBC (I tried port 1 and 4). Since the firestick is in sleep mode but never really turned on. I figured the TV at turn on would try and determine an active source. Anyway, I unplugged all devices (other then the over the air antenna) and it still had the power on issue. So not sure what to do at this point other than live with it or replace it. Bought it at Costco so still have another 2.5 months to return/exchange.
Did you try resetting the TV and see if it still has the issue?

No. I'll disconnect everything leaving only the OTA connection and reset once I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.

I forgot to mention, I have F/W 1162 and the following connections:

Port 1 = Sony BR player
Port 2 = PS3
Port 4 = Amazon Firestick gen 1.
OTA connection to 75ohm connector.

Searched for this btw. I Bedore getting my KS8000 I was a Plasma owner for 12 years. It seems this set has a lot of issues and most of the 4k sets do. Did the 1080p led sets have as many issues? I'm thinking of picking up a j6200 on the cheap and wonder if those non 4k sets were plagued with so many issues perhaps it's the nature of forums where mainly problems only are posted and neither the 4k or 1080 p sets are plagued at all. It just seems like that if you're in these forums long enough. Lol

It is the source, not the tv. If the source is bad, there's no amount of upscaling that is going to fix that. This is why I opted out of setting up cable. I know how bad they compress our signals.
Thanks, you are correct as my OTA picture quality is spectacular, especially sports. Thanks

Hi guys. Sorry to ask in advance. Any links for recent calibrations? I tried finding some but they all seem pretty old. I just picked up the 65ks8000 and I'm looking for a good all around setting that I don't have to keep changing all the time. I play games and watch movies mostly (and would like to use HDR) and some TV but not much, unless it's GOT or WD of course. Also, I have everything running through my Marantz SR5010 so I only have one HDMI going into the TV-HDMI-1. Thanks again!!

After a reboot (tv) it will work again for a while till its not working again.

So, change your DCHP range on your router to x.x.x.20 - x.x.x.200 (example) and use 1-19 for reserved devices.

Manually enter you IP in your tv (like 192.168.1.3)

Never again lose your internet connection
Thanks for the advice. If I remember it correctly, the TV still got an IP when it lost the internet, so it does not seem to be a DHCP IP assignment issue, but I will give it a try nonetheless to see if it fixes the issue. This loss of internet behavior only happened after recent firmware update (not sure which one, probably since 1155 or later). The TV always got internet from my router in older firmware which tells me it was not the router but the TV that caused it.

Can you please expound on the " a lot of issues" that you mentioned? I currently don't have any issues. Also can you provide data to back up your claim that "most of the 4K sets do"?

My LumiNoodle is fine when I plugged in the back of my TV, but it sounds like the current output of your TV USB ports are not enough to power the LumiNoodle. How about plug it to the USB port on the OCB to test it? One of the USB port is labeled for HDD and has higher current output. If it works, you can get a USB extension cord to use that port. It will turn off with your TV.

The only issue I'm having at the moment with the TV is my Hulu App is very buggy. Keep getting playback errors my down is 300mbps and the Hulu app works flawlessly on my Roku Ultra.

Brilliant idea! Thank you. To test the theory I went to a wall USB and partially seated the loominoodle in there...not fully plugged in. It did the exact same symptom as I get with the ks8500. I shoved it all the way in and it worked correctly. I think you are exactly right that it isn't getting enough power or solid contact. Going to dig around for a USB extender and try with one connect.

4 - ARC to Denon S720W receiver

Denon:
1 - Samsung UHD BD player

I use my Samsung TV remote for mostly all controls and features.

What works well:
> AVR will turn on when I turn TV on and turn off when TV goes off
> DirecTV will turn on when I choose it as a source from TV
> Chromecast Ultra will take control of TV when I cast from my phone and AVR will switch to TV Audio
> TV will switch to PS3 when I turn on PS3
> When I choose a TV app, AVR switches to TV Audio
> When I power on the UHD BD, the TV and AVR power up
> Can access AVR menu and its apps by selecting Receiver as source

Minor issues:
- AVR sometimes doesn't start when TV starts
- DirecTV, PS3 do not turn off automatically when TV goes off
- Occasionally, AVR will go to UHD BD audio when an app on TV is selected
- Ocassionally, AVR will stay on TV Audio when I select Receiver from TV as a source

Not perfect, but I'm very happy with using the Samsung remote and being able to easily get to all my sources.
What you described is normal. Samsung implementation of ARC is unstable, and many cannot even get ARC to work and have to resort to optical cable. My Onkyo 646 AVR behaves the same way. We are the lucky ones who can get ARC to work most of the time.

Is your Sound Bar DALI KUBIK ONE? If so, there is no HDMI connection, only optical or bluetooth. There is no HDMI-CEC as it requires HDMI connection. The smart remote can recognize your Nvidia Shield as it is connected via HDMI, but not your Sound Bar. Bluetooth 3.0 does not support volume control, I believe, so it is just better to connect your soundbar via optical and control its volume by the soundbar remote. If you have a HDMI-input soundbar, then you can use the smart remote to control the volume.

PROBLEM : I've had my TV since November and it's been working fine, but the last few weeks it has stopped playing any internet videos in HD. It will either play in what looks like 240p or cycle between that and 480p every few minutes. Sometimes it just freezes all together and the whole screen goes black like YouTube is locking up. It does this on YouTube, amazon and Netflix. My internet speed is fine because everything works on my phone and on my crappy 24" Vizio in the next room over. I've tried to reset the TV with no luck. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Please let me know. I hate having a 4k TV and yet watching stuff on my phone is better. Thanks in advance!

At those lengths? I seriously doubt it!

There are many HDMI cables already on the market today that exceed the port's 18 Gbps limit (the one I'm currently using is rated at 27 Gbps) - but only a select few of them can consistently pass a "high-bandwidth" signal (e.g. 4K/UHD HDR) without issues at lengths of 25+ feet.

In either case, this is a moot point since those new HDMI cables are not yet available. Regardless, cable length will always be an issue with HDMI cables. Those kinds of speeds will most likely be possible only with short cable lengths.

For longer lengths, Active Fiber Optic High Speed HDMI Cables will most likely be needed.

My connection speed is fine also when I have Ethernet plugged in. Time warner making they're third trip to my house tom because my wifi is weak. Don't think it's the tv. Check with your internet company and have them come out.

Also, I have everything running through my Marantz SR5010 so I only have one HDMI going into the TV-HDMI-1. Thanks again!!
GOT, WD but no Westworld? You gotta watch Westworld then!

My connection speed is fine also when I have Ethernet plugged in. Time warner making they're third trip to my house tom because my wifi is weak. Don't think it's the tv. Check with your internet company and have them come out.
Time warner came out and replaced my modem, but said the wifi wasn't something they can control. Said there are tooany factors with that. My pos Vizio is playing HD no problem. Why won't my Samsung do it anymore. Makes no sense. They're both on the same wifi

Having some issues with Amazon Prime video app.

The picture is very jerky and hesitates non stop. Through a whole show.

We have Prime video and watching shows it is consistently jerky viewing. its really hard to watch.
Digital Clean View, Auto Motion Plus is all off. Tired turing it on with different settings to see if it "overcomes" the juddery, jerky picture but it doesnt. So frustrating.

Firmware: 1155

We have Comcast internet, and speedtest.net shows DL @ 115 mb/s, and UL @ 6 mb/s.

Anyone else have this problem?? Any thought for a solution?

Maybe check again and make sure your Samsung is not getting its internet from your phone (mobile hotspot) instead of your WiFi?

how many of you have actually experienced the red blue seperation bug in game mode? https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/...ode/td-p/52192

It's quite a common issue it seems, I have been affected as well. Seems to have started around the 1154 update, you can only truly realize it during gaming when there is sufficient motion, it won't happen watching movies etc (well it probably does but it happens so quick you don't see it)

That's 2 issues I have with this set, the other being the black screen for 1-2 second that happens on occasion with UHD color enabled. My previous 3 Samsungs had no issues so I'm surprised that I have such frustrations with this set. Had mainboard replaced but didn't help one bit

If you have a HDMI-input soundbar, then you can use the smart remote to control the volume.
Yes I know it has no HDMI.

The Smart Remote can emit an IR blast to control the soundbar. It just won't work on HDMI 1 where the Shield is connected to. If I switch to the satellite tuner the volume control works from the Smart Remote to the Dali Kubik One.

Sound like your internet speed you say your phone works fine, what's that a 5 inch screen how can that even qualify as a comparison. Check your internet speed
