What could it be ? Something in the settings? I have the game mode enabled, the UHD option is enabled in the TV options...

Anyone have solution for this ?

Maybe an HDMI handshake issue. What cable are you using?

Known issue with PS4 pro, it has something to do with PS4 sending an invalid hdmi packet with HDCP 2.2 which forces the samsung TV to resync the signal. According to hdmi specs that's what you're supposed to do, Sony refuse to fix it and Samsung refuse to change their handling of the bad packet. This happens on all samsung TVs the last 2-3 years.

Zero issues with Xbox, nvidia cards. Turning off HDCP or switching to HDCP 1.4 on the PS4 resolves it.

Ive had zero problems with my PS4 pro on my ju7100, ks8000 and mu8000. Are we sure this isn't something that can be fixed? I am not using the HDMI cable that came with the PS4 pro.

Cables aren't the issue. You probably have HDCP turned off. Like I said before, turning it off or forcing the PS4 pro to use HDCP 1.4 solves it.

Unfortunately, in my case the image also disappears when the hdcp is off...
Maybe I should try use HDCP 1.4...

My 82MU8000 also has the black screen flash; but only occurs about 5-10 minutes on startup. Sometimes twice. Then, not again for my morning viewing. This may be the cause??? I donot have a PS4; I do have a NVidia card and it occurred while reading your post, ha. Thanks for the info. Starting each morning doing these updates on my HTPC. About 10 hours from now, I will start my OTA Tivo for normal TV watching and it will occur again. UHD requires 2.2, so, turning that off is not going to happen...
Thanks, again.

Use TV or Blu-Ray player for Netflix, Amazon?

The MU8000 65" is being delivered this weekend. I also just got the Samsung UBD-KM85c Blu-Ray player.

I plan to connect the KM85c to the TV with one HDMI for video and to my Denon X2000 AVR for audio since the AVR does not deal with HDCP 2.2. This should allow 4K video for Blu-Rays.

Wondering about streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon and whether the apps work/perform better/worse/same in the TV since it is newer than the UBD. I know there is not a lot of content in 4K yet but want the best overall experience given the limitations. If I used the TV to stream the apps then I would connect to the AVR via optical (HDMI ARC sounds problematic). Using the UBP to stream would involve the same two HDMI paths as for Blu-Rays to TV and AVR.

Does anyone have experience to share with these or similar devices and a recommendation? Thanks.

I think you will find a wealth of information about setup options and the player in general in the Official Samsung UBD-K8500 4K HDR Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player Owner's Thread. As for apps on your MU8000, Tizen 3 is pretty slick and responsive.

Do you think I should call Samsung support because of the way my screen looks:

This shadow is only visible on some variations of grey (not all), the pinkish tint at the middle of the screen is exaggerated from my camera, but still there (50% grey uniformity .png)
Cannot see any of those while watching movies...

Thanks for the response!
Can this be considered as an issue or pretty much all of the led TVs have it?

Looks like you have the dark gray bezel. When I got my KS800D, the D and dark grey were Costco only. And if it is an MU800D and your TV was purchased at Costco, call Costco's Concierge service. They are incredible in helping with any situation. They will try to deal with it, if they can't have a backdoor to the right people at Samsung.

If not a Costco unit, never mind. Then if you really think you have an issue, call Samsung. It never hurts to investigate.

I have an issue, had the tv for a little over a week now. When there is a bright to dark difference on the screen, and the image moves quickly, there is noticeable ghosting or trails on the screen from the darker image. Almost exactly like if you set trails to on, on your mouse. Very noticeable on Rick and Morty to the point of not being able to watch. Over the weekend it was bad on Top Gear when they were in the snow and Jeremy was wearing all black.

What on my settings could be causing this? I pretty much used the rtings settings but not on movie, on standard.

Also I haven't really noticed while playing games like Forza, or 4K blurays. Just 1080i content.

Thanks

Edit: this is on the 82" btw

I had the same issue if you look a couple of pages back i made a post about it

Mine was so bad that i had to return it. The new i have now does the same thing but not nearly as bad as the first one i had. The video below I recorded shows it on my first model. You notice it more with amimated cartoons.

(Video recorded in 4k) - Might have to download it to see what i am talking about. Pay attention to the eye and head area you will see it for sure

Ha, I read the whole thread and remember the my little pony reference but I read it before I got my set. That sucks, hope I don't have to replace it. My motion settings are also all set to 0.

I was looking to pull the trigger on one of these 82" size. This sounds like a major issue to me.

Does the same issue occur if running through the AVR?

Are there any other major issues with this model TV?

I had the same issue with my PS4 Pro. and UN65MU8000. Swapped the HDMI cable out with a premium certified one from Monoprice and updated firmware / software of the TV and PS4 and this seems to have fixed the issue.

Question Great TV for the money

I have had this set mu8000 55 inch for several months and it has been exceptional. Very happy with the TV.

One thing I notice is what I call a Flashbulb Effect. Every once in a while the picture will flash like a camera flash going off. It does not happen very often or channel specific. I am inclined to think that it is a provider problem, Dish Network, more so than the TV.

Does it happen with other sources, such as streaming Netflix or watching a movie from external HDMI sources (i.e. BDP, AppleTV, Roku, etc.)

The reason I ask is you could try different HDMI cables for your Cable TV box and Satellite receiver. I wasted so much time trying to troubleshoot a recent issue because I believed the supplied HDMI cable for one of my devices was of good quality. Wrong! Turns out that when I swapped it out with my own certified cable the issue vanished.

Just a thought... that or just try reseating your current HDMI cables at both ends to ensure full and proper connection.

I personally love it as it has all the connections in one spot and 1 cable to the tv. Mind you, what is a plus is also a minus as some people hate it as maybe they had HDMI in wall installed for the tv and not realizing it’s a completely different cable.

It's probably the TV hidden camera taking it's weekly picture of you

I'm joking of course.

SkyYYZ comment is right. The HDMI cables can cause various issues. Make sure you are using "Certified" HDMI cables. Depending on how long you need the cables, Belkin has a 6.6 ft Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable. Monoprice has longer "Certified" High Speed HDMI cables. There may be other cables out now that other forum members can recommend.

Also, buy an extra HDMI cable to use for future troubleshooting. You can swap out the HDMI cables to see if one has gone bad. Just make sure to label at least one of them.

HELP!!

Can someone who has their set (65 inch) on the stand; how many inches is it from the surface it sits on to the bottom of the screen.
My entertainment center is 30" and I am afraid it will be too high to sit on.

Being a new owner of an 82MU8000, I thought I’d weigh in. So far, I’m thoroughly impressed! I set out to buy a Sony 75x900e (which theoretically is a better television) but I saw them side by side at Best Buy and the Sammy simply looked better with the exact same content. Ultimately, we don’t watch features and specs, we view images, colors, etc., and this tv is really good. The extra real estate makes a huge difference, too, particularly with UHD content. I also like the way it works in tandem with my Samsung Blu-ray player (M9500) to automatically select the best settings on both tv and br to get the best picture. Given the reasonable price tag, I’m blown away by the quality of images I’m seeing. Yay!

82" would look ridiculous in my place! Seriously hahaha. The largest TV I could accommodate even in my living room would be a 65". The only reason I was able to pull off a 55" MU8500 in the bedroom was because of the curve. Zero regrets and the only real issue that comes to mind is some minor flashlighting.
Judging by the relatively quiet Owner's Thread it signifies to me that most of us are pretty content with our price/performance ratio. I bought mine last November and it still makes me happy every time I turn it on
