In the 55" class it is either this TV, the 930E, or OLED.......

Dido - once you get over 65" then its the 900e/940e or a very expensive coming later this year 77" OLED.

There is no perfect display, quit looking for faults and enjoy

LG OLED 65” B7 and 55” C8

This will eliminate the Bluetooth problems and will also allow the controllers to charge.
Interesting in that I did not know you could plug them into USB. It would be hard for us to do that since the TV is about 5 ft off the ground and about 8-9 ft away, I don't want kids running through the cords and yanking on the USB ports.

I also looked up the Logitech F710 a short while ago, which is the other controller recommended by Sony's website. It's actually more expensive than the Dualshock4, and if I buy the DS4 from Best Buy, they say I get a free charging station for the same price as Amazon. Maybe all of them come with a free charging station, I'm new to Android games, no real experience yet.

I actually think I am going to buy four of the DS4s, because from the Sony website, there are some driving games which can do four players, and I know that will happen eventually.

I think the tv only supports up to two controllers.

Which gamepads are compatible with the Android TVs?

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answer...v%20/related/1

How to connect the DUALSHOCK 4 controller to the Android TV.

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answer...v%20/related/1

The Android TV is compatible with the CUH-ZCT1Uxx DUALSHOCK 4 controller.
The Android TV is NOT compatible with the CUH-ZCT2Uxx DUALSHOCK 4 controller.

Please note that support for DS4 controllers was for when Android TV supported PSNow which is no longer true.

I know they did so with the 930D, but not 100% with other sets. The game mode HDR lag on that TV was up in the 90 something range, and they brought it down to 50 or 60 something. So almost cut in half.

My DualShock4 is a CUH-ZCT2Uxx. It pairs and works properly except that it will start to act strangely after being connected via Bluetooth for a minute or so. I just connect it via USB now and it works fine.

Pulled the trigger on the 65" today, got it at Best Buy. Just got it set up, definitely different to get used to compared to my 55X850B in my bedroom, which has been a really solid TV for me, a little light bleed in the right corner, but not distracting. Well, gonna go play with the 65" settings.

Also pulled the trigger for a 75XBR900E yesterday at Best Buy. It was a close call between the 65x930e and the 75XBR900E but I decided that the bigger 75" screen size was worth it despite the fact that the 930 is brighter and according to all the reviews provides a better picture than the X900 with the X1 Extreme processor. The 75XBR900E will be delivered tomorrow. I hope that others in this forum who already have the 900E will provide me some guidance on the "best" settings for this set. I know that settings are a matter of personal preference but would like to hear from others what their settings are. I will be using the set in a fairly bright room as I have windows all around.

So I have the 49 inch version and am using the stand. It's pretty wobbly. Press the top with a finger and it wobbles back and forth a few times. Normal?

It is normal. My X800D did the same thing as does my X900E. I actually have a fan in my room that causes it to gently sway.

Fast forward to next day - we picked this up at Frys with their no sales tax deal.

Blacks are very good on this TV. Pretty bright for my eyes. We normally don't watch TV in pitch darkness (we have a dedicated HT for that), but we did this just to try out the TV and came away impressed. You can see the black bars if you focus on them, but if you just look at the picture, then you cannot. When playing 4K content from youtube, we just went WOW. This is our first 4K TV tho, so we could be easily impressed.

For the price (and no tax!), this is one serious TV.

The 900 is really a great upgrade for me, but just thinking I should have gone with a 930e. All input appreciated.
yes I would recommend upgrading to the Xe93 if future proofing is a concern because the XE93 will support Dolby Vision after a software update later this year according to Sony.

Also the HDR is even better and the SDR upscaling is incredible.
I saw the XE90 and XE93 in a UK Sony Centre side by side and the extra detail on the XE93 was very obvious - even with my bad eye sight.

I bought a set with an off switch. There seems to be an internal clock that while standby is engaged it will scan the network for updates and illuminate your room.

Download Kodi for your media needs. As far as PS games, Sony discontinued the PlayStation Now service in it's TV's. The only way to get it now is via the PS4 or a Windows PC.

Thanks! Glad its helpful to someone on here

I use the Sony 930e as an external monitor during the day, and I use it for gaming/movies at night.

I will probably pick up a 900e this weekend for the movie room. The reason I went for the 930e was due to its ability to overpower the sun in bright rooms.

Are you using the CUH-ZCT2Uxx for the Android TV games? When I read through Sony's website I also understood that the Dualshock4 controllers were only for PlayStation Now. Granted, if someone told me the website was wrong, I'd believe it.

I ordered two Logitech F710's yesterday, mostly because I got tired of looking at and reading everything to try and save $20, vs just buying something which Sony guarantees to work. They will be delivered today according to Amazon. We shall see how they do, given that above I said I'd believe it if someone told me the Sony website was wrong.

I came close to ordering the 900E but after seeing the X9E side by side in a Sony Centre there was a very obvious improvement in Detail. So ordered the X9E arriving Friday.

I totally agree with what you sad about the calibrated posted settings. What I found is the Warm setting Under the custom settings eliminates the red push. I use the Standard setting in the day with brightness at 20 and the custom at night with brightness at 4.

I have to DualShock4 controllers, one old one new.
The new one, the ZCT2Uxx isn't fully compatible- there are issues with Bluetooth where the controller will stop responding for maybe 15 seconds and it also has some weird lag/multiple button press issue. Plugged in via USB it works fine with the exception that the X and O buttons are reversed (O is "enter" and X is "back").
The old version of the DS4 works fine. No Bluetooth issues or button mapping problems.

Also, PlayStation Now is no longer available on Sony TVs, only on PS4 and Windows PCs.

Thanks ! I have a PS4 so all set there, just wondered why I didn't see it. I will get Kodi, I was thinking I may have to go to something like that. Downloaded VLC this morning and was hoping to be able to stream some of my .MKV's but it didn't work, was able to stream others though.

I just have a 4TB USB HDD plugged into my 900E and watch MKVs that way.

I got this TV yesterday after coming from a Sony w800b (2014). Wow, the 900E is very bright. Last year I tried the 850d which I thought was just terrible with washed out blacks and not being able to get bright enough for HDR content. So that went back. I then tried the 930d, which was considerably better than the 850d, but its problem seemed to be the Android TV interface. It was just slow, and painful. Also, the black seemed worse than the w800b it was replacing !! .... So that went back ;-)

So one more time .... now with the 900e, I'm happy. It got the brightness I want, but also the Android TV interface is snappy enough. Blacks are great and colors are vibrant. Looking forward to hooking up the Sony x800 UBP to this tv later !
