No YouTube HDR. Sony doesn't yet support the VP profile needed for it.

I found that force stopping and disable the Samba TV application under settings then applications made the sony interface much faster and smoother. Still not enough to use it over my shield though.

When putting 4K in the YouTube search, I'm only getting demo's and some documentaries. Is there something I'm missing?

Any Logitech Harmony 650 owners on here having any problems updating their remotes for their new TV purchase?

I own two 650's. One for my living room (which I need to update to my Sony 940E). And another for my bedroom (which my old Living Room TV is now being demoted to, so I'm reprogramming it, as the old Bedroom TV is getting demoted to the kid's play room, as God intended).

Both refuse to update. I get 25% of the way through the sync and get the same error message for both.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have the Harmony Touch and I forever do changes via My Harmony (3 years). Last Friday I decided to do another change and I think it updated and after this I would be the same as you. gets to about 25% sync and it stays they.
After this I download the latest My Harmony program and it did the same. No Good. I did some reading and I read to try different computers so I installed to use a 64 bit machine and the Harmony remote was ok after this but still refuses to sync to the 32 bit machine.

When i first setup this TV when i hit input it would show my Comcast Cable Sheild and Direct TV. I could select from the two since i do not use Direct Tv.
. Now the Comcast is gone. Problem now is if i use my shield I can no longer select cable. Since Hdmi 3/ ARC has cable and my shield running through my arc if i select hdmi 3 it just stays on my shield. So now i have to turn everything off then restart my tv/avr/cable and my cable will work.
Any idea how to get the Comcast shortcut back?
Thanks.

Question Xfinity X1 1080p/60 output and 940E

All,

Just got my 75" 940E up and running, and also had Xfinity X1 installed.

Getting ready to try all of the settings posted here for the TV, but the first step was going to be setting the X1 output to 180p/60.

However, once I do that, the picture changes to static which is odd since it's a digital signal. 1080i setting on the X1 box works fine.

Wanted to see if anyone else has seen this on the 940E before I begin troubleshooting and possibly swapping out the X1 box.

TIA!

Has anyone had their 940e professionally calibrated? Best Buy wants $300 to calibrate it. I was wondering if anybody would be willing to share their settings if they have.

10k's settings for the Z9D have gotten pretty good responses from a lot of 940E owners (including myself):

Gadgtfreak had similar settings here:

And don't forget about RTings calibration here:

Can i ask how you were able to watch 4k football????? Thought it was broadcast on ESPN??? I'm very interested in how you got that content??

I'm fed up with TimeWarner Spectrum in the Los Angeles area. The box I have can only output in 1080i. Awful.

Thank you

Directv has a channel for live sports. Not much one because the facilities have to be in place, but they are doing some college games this year. Fox Sports 1 was the feed for the 4K.

Yeah, it sucks. Out for the year with a long recovery time. Might be his last game for FSU depending on other QB's and recruits. At least we have a good Defense to help cover the freshman QB that will be playing.

What are you guys setting your Xbox video output at? Since we get lower lag from 4K sources, do you set your Xbox to upscale to 4K and then send to TV or AVR?

trying my luck with sony a1e after what feels like being in jail when I look at 2 lg c7's I've had. Jailbars you can see in movies and games isn't acceptable for this kind of money. LG calls it "normal" maybe sony won't with same panel.

The audio just stop working on my Netflix and Amazon Prime apps from the tv to my sonos system. The sound works on the tv but who wants to do that. All other apps are working. Anyone else have that problem?

Also the Amazon Prime app has been crazy buggy in general for me. Anyone else?

So kinda feel like an idiot but if anyone else comes across this problem, in the settings, sound, digital audio out, PCM. This works but Amazon Prime video is still crap.

A little off topic, but a cool, inexpensive remote. $30, 8 device, learning, 12 macro's. Works like a charm.

Just starting my search

I've been reading alot of info on this thread with great interest as I'm close to pulling the trigger on the 940E. I too went to Best Buy and spent an hour playing with different settings on this TV and couldn't get any sports programming to look very good. In fact, much cheaper TVs looked much better. This is my main concern as we will watch about 95% of our programming as std HiDef and not 4k source material. We use DirecTV.

The main issue I had was a lot of artifacts around details like faces, names on jerseys, etc and the detail just wasn't there. I tried to get them to force 720p resolution from the DirecTV box but every time we tried, it would force to 1080p and I know that the material wasn't 1080P - most likely 1080i which didn't help I would think. However, again, many of the other TVs looked much sharper with less artifacts. Supposedly the feed was going through an Atlona matrix so they were all getting the same source. I also noticed the Z9 had the same issue.

I was excited about the 940E due to the X1 extreme chip and the reviews saying the upscaling was very good but I didn't see that for myself at Best Buy. Again, I tried a bunch of different settings but really just randomly adjusted things as I don't know what most of the settings or their names mean (thanks Sony marketing!).

I was particularly interested in hearing your thoughts and experience @dgfla since it looks like you've had the TV for about a month and had the same experience I did at Best Buy but would love to hear from anyone else with specific suggestions for maximizing DirecTV standard HiDef on this TV.

Any thoughts, advice, recommendations, etc? Thanks in advance!

Plan is to upgrade from 65" Pani VT60 to 940E as I think 75" will really enhance my HT experience. This 4K model and frankly many look fantastic with 4 K content and I am sure this will be an very obvious upgrade over the VT60.

What I am concerned about is watching 1080i xfinity content i.e. ESPN, Football, etc...
When I was at BB today I had them switch to their DTV feed and it really looked quite lame!.
Maybe it was just their feed and the fact that it probably has many splitters connected to feed all the TV's.

So can I get some feedback on your experience with non 4k content?
thanks in advance..

also any suggestions on blu ray players would be cool.

That's the remote I use. Was able to replace the remote that came with the 940e, my soundbar remote, and my directv remote. My soundbar doesn't have any codes, so used the learning feature. My directv receiver is in a closet, so I had to change it to ir mode, and then use the ir blaster from the tv. It's a thing of beauty.
