TV shoppers looking for high performance at low prices will be thrilled to know that TCL P-Series and C-Series 4K TVs are HDR capable with support for Dolby Vision. These displays use the Roku smart TV platform with the C-Series consisting of edgelit models with a super-slim profile while the P-Series concentrates on image quality by using 72-zone FALD LED backlight.

Roku OS integration means that these TVs provide access to over 5000 channels worth of content. Notably, all six models in the two series support Dolby Vision HDR.

"With more Dolby Vision as well as generic HDR content now available through the streaming content providers, TCL is delivering premium products with leading technology like Dolby Vision and the Roku OS," said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL. "Consumers are hungry for bigger screens with best-in-class picture quality and TCL is meeting both of those needs by leveraging Dolby's deep expertise in bringing advanced technologies from the cinema to the home in our newest TV models."

Dolby Vision offers viewers HDR that includes dynamic metadata, which tells the TV how to adapt to what's showing on screen for maximum picture quality. Roland Vlaicu, Vice President, Multi-Screen Services Video, Dolby Laboratories noted that "We are excited to partner with TCL to make Dolby Vision more broadly available than ever before."

Prototypes of these TVs were shown at CES 2017. I am very encouraged that these displays—in particular the P-Series, will bring the benefits of HDR with WCG and a premium Dolby Vision viewing experience to consumers at heretofore unheard of price points. $999 for a 65" 72-zone Dolby Vision-capable HDR TV is amazing, considering the technologies contained within including the excellent Roku OS.
