this update has an issue when HDR content kicks in the screen is dark on Xbox One X going to dash and back to game fixes it and on my 4K bluray player switching input and back corrects it I've never had this issue till this update. I hope TCL does something fast this is garbage.

Yeah, I’m having Dolby Vision issues with my Apple TV 4K as well. Getting occasional green screens. Also had it happen once on my Xbox One X. They definitely screwed something up with the update.

Is it possible to downgrade via a USB stick?

My 605 auto updated and now I have no Atmos through ARC. WTF How can I revert back to the previous firmware?

Sorry to hear that Guz. Mine has updated to 9.0 but I'm getting ATMOS. My audio is set to "auto detect" (for ARC) with tv speakers disabled.

All apps that support ATMOS stream it like before. I do notice Prime ATMOS is rather crackly since the upgrade. Have you tried checking the Dolby Access app? I get ATMOS & DV when playing clips via that.

Check your tv settings bud. When I first turned mine on I got no sound at all and the tv speakers were enabled. I went back to the home page, then went back into settings and they were disabled and everything worked fine after that. Just tested it again with the Dolby app and ATMOS/DV going strong.

Hey there SD,
Nice to hear from you. Thanks for the advice I’ll check it out. This happened when I turned the TV on this morning before work and I didn’t have much time to do much except “freak out” and it was time to hit the salt mines.

if you don't want the update then i would say yes (unless there is a way to disable auto updating) however, if you use your tv for streaming then your gonna have to make some hard choices.

Thanks. So the new update has some serious issues? HDR gaming will be compromised?

I received OS 9 but my Xbox One X doesn’t allow for Dolby Vision. I thought that was part of the update.

I keep seeing TCL 4 5 6 series no mention of the P on Xbox reddit page. Are you running straight into the TV or thru a receiver?

AH, good call. I forgot I’m running Thur my receiver and it doesn’t support DV. On a side note HDR10 is very dim now. Will plugging directly into the TV solve the dim HDR issue??

my 55P607 is in the bedroom and i don't have an Xbox in there. everything connected to the receiver and/or directly to the tv are still working just like they were before the update. looks good, sounds good, HDR/DV/ATMOS from all apps look and sound great.

Well I guess I got two updates last night, my TV and my ATV4K. TV is fine after going through the audio settings, thanks solardadd, and yet I lost Dolby Vision going through my receiver when using the ATV4K. It seems like it is always something these days. Hope they fix it soon.

Thanks! A full TV restart consists of unplugging the TV?

Anyone else with an Apple TV 4K have DV problems after updating to the ATV to tvOS 12.2?

Here is my issue.

I have my ATV set to 4K SDR with match range on. DV content will play and DV engages correctly but, when stopping playback and when DV disengages, I get just a black screen. I have to hit the Home button on my TCL TV remote and then choose the input of the ATV to get the picture back.

Wish I could go back to the previous version because everything was working perfectly fine and none of the new features are important to me. Learned my lesson, I’ll never update immediately again.

Same issues here. Can’t even get Dolby Vision or Atmos to work anymore. Worked perfectly before update. Tried everything but nothing works.

I noticed recently when I switch to a different hdmi input on the P607 It usually takes a few seconds for the local dimming too kick on? Kind of hard to explain but the screen will be slightly grey then hit deep black. Was curious if this is normal and if anyone else has any similar issues.

what you didn't say is what is connected to that input and what it's doing, i.e. a UHD player playing a UHD HDR/DV disc or something like that.

mine changes with no issues and displays exactly what is on the other input as it is.

I apologize. It is the PlayStation Pro that is connected to the hdmi input that has a slight local dimming lag to it. The local dimming works fine. It just takes a few seconds too kick in once I select the input. Just wasn’t sure if that is normal or a defect of the product.
