That's what the product page on Amazon says. The fine print also says that its for new HBOGo subscribers however. I am guessing you will need to enter a card number since it is also states that they will charge after the trial period automatically.

Maybe use this video to test it? Is this a good way to see?

Thumbs down

Also an owner, well sort of, unfortunately mine came with a cracked screen in the box, no damage to the box. Trying to come to a satisfactory resolution with amazon at the moment, since they claim to have the TV out of stock.

I am going to have to check this out today if my tv gets delivered likes it supposed to.

There is an article from Pocketlint that claims that any HDR compatible device would display HDR on YouTube, but when you click on their source link, it only calls out the Chromecast Ultra and Samsung's 2016 UHD and SUHD line.

Mine is supposed to ship Friday. I'm pretty excited. I currently have a PC attached to my TV and use that to watch Netflix, HBO Go, and Plex. I'm somewhat concerned that my PC won't be able to handle 4K adequately. Woulda it be better you use the PC or Roku apps to access content?

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu** that sucks. I hadn't even considered the fact that if there's an issue with my set when it arrives, who knows when I can actually get a replacement, since Amazon is out of stock.....Wonder if a replacement can be had directly from TCL at all?

I think Roku P+ or Ultra supports YouTube HDR as well. Besides, what you need is a SoC that can decode VP9 p2.

Yep, it's a good way, but make sure you turn of FALD for this test, and perform it in a really dark room.
Here's my M55-C2 with FALD off:

Well I'm not sure what video card you have, but it may not support sending an HDR signal at all, so even if you can get 4K on the TV you won't get any HDR, which some would argue is the bigger "wow factor." So I'd say using Roku interface is probably a better bet.

My KS8500 55" plays HDR from YouTube. You have to be certain the videos are actually HDR though. False naming on a bunch. The HDR channel is a good source.

Here is the link for the Pocket-lint
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/1388...latest-feature

"You can only watch HDR on a HDR-compatible display. Vizio, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, LG, TCL, Hisense, and every other TV manufacturer you can think of now sell HDR TV sets. "

And there source link.

Haha, guess I should have looked into it more before purchasing. My video card does not have hdmi 2.0 so it's a no go for 4k 60hz. I've never used a Roku enabled TV. Can I download channels on it, such as plex? Seems like ill have tho just run it at 1080p when playing games and such. Kinda sucks for YouTube and such though. So much easier using a keyboard.

Well you can watch HDR on any HDR compatible TV/display. It just avoids mentioning that you may also need another device to actually play it.

My Roku Premier+ got a Youtube update yesterday and I can now watch Youtube HDR videos. Not all of them work (especially the videos from The HDR channel) but the ones I tested out yesterday looked phenomenal. My Premiere + is connected to my Samsung TV.

See if these HDR videos works on the TCL:

I received mine today. So far everything seems to be good. Just one problem maybe someone can help me with. I can't seem to get my Comcast X1 remote two sync with it. It won't control the volume or the on and off.
Thanks

These play and they look amazing on the 55P607! When I hit * on the remote while watching to access the picture settings overlay picture mode is set to "Dark [HDR]" which I've not yet seen as an option there before..... I'm getting no hiccups on the playback of these HDR/60fps videos over WiFi either, but I imagine you'll need so real bandwidth to push this content... My network specs are: 80211ac 5Ghz, ping: 14ms, 189 Mbps. Results from speedtest.net.

These HDR/60fps videos are the demo videos to show your friends and family

Mine arrived this afternoon and we got it set up this evening.

I'm no huge videophile but I think I would see if there were any noticeable defects, and it looks really good to me. I haven't messed with any settings yet. We've just watched 4k YouTube and some Netflix so far. Looking forward to exploring more!

Funny that this TV cost less than what I paid in 2010 for the Vizio SV421xvt that it replaced!

My understanding is it would have to have a hardware VP9 chip, profile 2 in order to display YouTube HDR. Several posts have asked if the TCL P has the VP9 chip, but I have not seen a definitive reply.

The 60fps HDR YouTube videos posted in this thread all play for me just fine and are producing the best quality image I've seen yet on this TV. As noted. I'm not sure if there's a way to turn on on-screen diagnostics to show fps but the motion looks great. As mention, when you access the TVs overlay picture settings while watching a HDR YouTube video the picture mode indicates shows HDR as on.

I had the same problem, but went into Roku TV settings to the part about remote control and HDMI ARC settings. Set that and all was good.

Congrats to those who have their tv!!!
I read somewhere that Amazon was now out of stock. I pre ordered my tv May 29th and still hasn't shipped. People who have ordered after me have their TV's already. Should I be worried?

While playing a Youtube video, press the Up arrow and choose More Options. Click the right arrow until you select the icon on the right called Stats for Nerds. This will tell you resolution, codecs, connection speeds, and other info.

Received and set up my new TV!

Watching Man in the High Castle and the picture quality is off the chain!

Here are some screen shots! I'm seeing some amazing contrast and pretty black blacks. Don't notice any backlight bleeding.

What does your shipping estimate say? I ordered mine on June 1st and it shipped Tuesday. You might want to contact Amazon and politely point out the unfairness of the situation. (I did and they refunded me 5%.)

I don't have a receiver for Dolby ATMOS but can confirm it's doing DD 5.1 pass through for my FireTV, Blueray player and Apple TV. The Atmos passthrough support claim was made by TCL in response to product Q&A on Amazon's 55P607 product page and the statement is still up.

However, looking at the specs only DD 5.1 and DD 5.1 Plus pass through are officially supported on the spec sheet. Of course it also is playing 4k HDR videos on youtube at 60fps and this seems to be a surprise, so it seems it has a few tricks up it's sleeve.

Yes, that's where I saw it. If no one confirms the Atmos pass through support before Saturday (when my speakers arrive!), I look forward to doing so. But someone has got to have Atmos set up tonight!

My shipping date says may 16 even though I pre ordered may 29th. And they withdrew my money. I am a little annoyed. I shouldn't complain but anticipation is killing me. I also have another order that was suppose to ship yesterday but still no update on that either. Just says shipping soon.

Here's a website with a lot of 4k and HDR demos to drool over. Can someone download a few and put them on a usb drive and see if they will play from the Roku Media App.
