No dark environment. But you can easily see bleed and bloom even at best buy if you know what to look for. The edge lit sets have flashlighting etc. LGs new sk9000 is complete trash too. It's all gray. The Samsung's looked better off angle than the sk9000 looked directly on center lol

There was only 1 scene where I could see some bloom on the Q9 and that could probably be greatly reduced by turning the backlight down a few notches (since they are at full blast).

The Q8 definitely looked great. It had the same saturation as the Q9 but not quite as bright, but still pretty bright.

I wish Samsung would play some better demos though. All their demos now are streamed right from Korea so at times they look bit starved.

If you had the TV frame boxed out and told someone it was an OLED, *most* of the time they'd believe you, at least in the best buy environment. It's gonna come down to preference really but as most of us thought, they look to be very good options for people not wanting to go oled.

Any TV can compete with another per say, you have guy's comparing the Q9FN to TV's half the price in other threads. I was saying/meant to say strictly by price point, in the 75" class, the Samsung 75Q9FN is "priced" to compete with the 940E, if it was price to compete with the 75Z9D it would be at a $7999, $8999, or $9999 retail. That's how I look at it anyway........The retail pricing of $5999 is more of what the 940E/940F is/will be.

I know I am glad to see Samsung back into the FALD business

Price means nothing anymore. Last year Samsung sold the edge lit 65" Q9 for 6k and what exactly did that mean? Not squat. Sony's 930e was half the price. Does that mean the 930e wasn't meant to compete with the 2017 Q9? Or that the 930e was the inferior TV simply because it cost less?

Right now the 930e is cheaper than the 900f but has better performance with blacks and dimming control and brightness/hdr performance. The price doesn't tell you anything anymore. HDTVtest released a new comparison video today, and the 930e is easiely supererior to the 900f, despite being cheaper.

True that...... ! My comment I made was before the Q8FN and Q9FN was released. All we had at that point was price, no facts.....

We will have to wait to see what D-Nice has to say...... Q9 or Z9D ........

Can we get an update on the HW-N950 Sound bar? Did you get a demo copy yet to review?

The big question is if this sound bar will pass through Dolby Vision, or any other codec not strictly supported for decoding.

LG OLED55C7P TV w Dolby Vision/Atmos
LG UBK90 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player, Dolby Vision/Atmos
Samsung HW-N950 soundbar 7.1.4
