The lesser cables did do 4k at 4:2:0 30Hz and 8bit though. So if that is indeed all you need then indeed any basic high speed cable will do.
Personally my go to cables are either monoprice premium certified HDMI cables from Amazon, or rocketfish premium certified HDMI cables from best buy if I can't wait 2 days. Both do 4:4:4 @ 4K 60hz. Both work just as good as a REALLY overpriced audioquest carbon cable I purchased a few years ago before I knew better....... and not nearly as expensive.

Even though 18 GBPs is the max speed doesn’t mean all HDMI cables can achieve that, this is why Premium Certified became a thing:
https://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/premiumcable/faq.aspx

As long as you buy a cable with Premium Certified logo it is guaranteed to handle the full bandwidth which is needed for 4K HDR, and there are plenty of affordable cables which qualify for this certification. But if you want to buy cables from shady manufacturers who are making bogus claims, knock yourself out.

Got GOW back yesterday. Played it today. All I can say is wow. I think it might be the most amazing looking game for a console to date. I played through it on my 2015 Sony 4k set. It looked great on that tv. But I'm really blown away

God of War looks excellent!! Another scene that looks great is the opening scene of the last of us. since it takes place at night, excellent HDR usage with fire and explosions. Didn't play through it on the pro yet since I beat that game at least 7 times between PS3 and PS4 (not pro). Waiting until it gets close to the sequel to release next year before I play through it again, to experience it in its UHD HDR entire glory.

These cables are cheap to, about 10 bucks for Premium Certified, so why not...lol? Make sure they have the badge below as you have said.

shadow of the tomb raider's opening sequence is great for this tv, she's in a cave, so the sides of the tv are pitch black then she gets a flashlight out and lots of subtle lighting, at one point the flash light "points" at the camera, it was practically blinding.

Owned that game the day it came out to download, but I still haven't played it yet. The backlog perils are real!

Just had dark areas appear and flicker on the left and right hand side, bottom half of the screen, on a 75".

Hard reset seems to have removed it, but rather concerned...!

Has anyone else gotten endless Notifications for new Ambient Backgrounds lately? I have all Ambient settings turned off including in Smart Things, but this pop up Notification comes up practically once every few hours.

I received the notification several times now and thought I got rid of it the other day, but it reappeared again today. What I did this time was to dismiss the pop-up notifcation (via the "go back" button or OK button on the remote), scroll to the Ambient Mode icon and click on it, and then noticed what must be the new Ambient background referenced in the notification after I clicked the Decor option -- it appears to be a background named Sheltering Tree, although I'm not completely certain that that is in fact the new background since I never use Ambient Mode, I'm assuming it is since it was the first background presented under the Decor option. I clicked on the Sheltering Tree background to test it out, but also pulled up the other Decor backgrounds just to scroll through them all, and then exited Ambient Mode. I have yet to see that notification appear again, so hopefully going through the hassle of scrolling through all of the Decor backgrounds un-triggered that annoying pop-up notification. Time will tell.

BTW, this notification appeared on my Q8FN (firmware 1202.3), so it's not something limited to the Q9FN series.

I got 2, and since I use the Fire TV remote, there was no way to get rid of the pop-up without finding and using the Samsung remote.

I never use Ambient Backgrounds so I switched my internet connection to Wired and then disconnected the ethernet cable so it won't happen again.

My 4KUHD is in the mail ... USPS please hurry up

I actually have the whole Manga hardbound, 5 volumes! No, I treat the movies separately. I loved Ghost in the Shell movie (also 4KUHD) even though I have the whole Anime collection. Again, movies are their own thing for me.

Hi guys, I just bought the Samsung 65Q9FN and it only came with the fantastic looking one remote. However I have no idea how the volume button works? Right now I push it and it mutes the tv, click it again and it unmutes. How the hell do you actually control the volume???

Pushing the button into the remote is what mutes it. Just gently nudge the button up or down
