This should still work no?

Also can I use the screws that come with the x900f to wall mount it?

I mean the screws that are already in the back of the set.

Have any of you wall mounted using the screws that came with the 85 Inch?

Should I be worried about wall mounting an 85 inch?

my 70 inch Vizio weighs 60 lbs or so and has been wall mounted without issue for like 3 years.
Mount should work, might have to buy metrics bolt from the home depot. Hang from the mount, if it holds you it will hold the TV..... A nice, close mount is only 20 bucks though..... click here

Hi All, running into an odd issue with my 900f. The TV Tuner and switching channels became unbearably slow the last couple weeks.

I was trying to do a factory reset to just give everything a fresh start, but whenever I go to the menu with that option I get kicked out of that screen and back to the home screen. No matter what I do or how many restarts I keep getting kicked off that option not matter how quickly I press.

I ended up deleting cache/data for any app that had the word TV in it and that solved the problem but I’m baffled as to why I can’t do a factory reset.

If anyone needs a remote or legs for this thing, drop me a line.

I just ordered an 85 950H from Cleveland Plasma...

Seggers

***PlanetAVS did a nice job with this thread. Here you go:

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-l...gs-thread.html

P.S. - there is also a large spreadsheet with the Sony 900E settings, which are close to the 900F. I can't seem to locate it right now but will post when I find it again.

Ah - here it is - Check out Post # 10997 Just click on the post. From johnbrooke26 who hasn't posted anything to the AVS Forum in over a year. Maybe he won lotto. Good for him...

Hello all,

Can anyone help me with a choice I'm about to make? I'm torn between the 55q70r (€810) and the Sony X900F (€765). I mainly want to use it for TV shows, sports (mainly soccer/F1 racing/basketball) and as a (Nintendo Switch/PC gaming) monitor. I think consensus online is that the q70r is better for gaming, whereas the Sony is better for.. almost everything else? Is this correct? If not, feel free to slap me on the head and tell me what you think.

Don’t know about the Samsung but I play both 4K and regular HD consoles on my 900F and have no complaints. No complaints with anything really on my end.

Get a replacement X900F or exchange for a Vizio P-Series Quantum X?

I’ll let it be know that I already have the x900f (75”), but unfortunately it has quite a few dead pixels so I’m returning it for either a replacement or an exchange. The PX75 isn’t much more expensive than way I paid for the X900F, and I’m wondering if I’d be better off with that than getting another X900F.

From my experience with the Sony, motion handling is phenomenal, PQ looks excellent, what I don’t like is the blooming, really frustrating watching dark shows with subtitles on and seeing the bloom influence everything around them.

I also don’t like dim HDR/DV content in the daytime hours.

I’ve heard the Vizio does a better job handling blooming with its significantly higher zone count and its brightness is way better than the Sony.

What worries me with the Vizio is the motion handling, I watch sports, and fast/action based movies often. I also game. So I value motion quite a bit.

What also worries me, albeit to a lesser extent, is the upscaling on the Vizio, I’ve heard it’s fairly poor in comparison to the Sony. Granted most of the content I consume is 1080p or 4k so unsure how much that matters.

Any input is appreciated!

I have a X900F that my son throw a block at and put a crack in the screen sending vertical and horizontal bars across the screen. Finally was able to replace a month ago with a Samsung Q80R. It’s still sitting in my basement and I don’t have heart to toss it. It was less than 9 months old. Is there any demand for parts on these things? Or anyone that could use a part off of it? Power cord, remote, internal parts etc? I had no luck with homeowners insurance covering it and from what I understand screen replacement would cost more than the tv and I’m not sure Sony has replacement screens available.

What size? Location?

I watched Heat in 4K (HDR10) off iTunes and noticed a couple interesting things on my 75” X900F. I’m using Cinema Pro with brightness max, contrast 90, otherwise the rtings.com settings. Everything is connected via a Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver with no video processing applied, to port 3 on the TV with enhanced HDMI enabled.

When viewed through the Apple TV app on my fire stick 4K, or the Movies Anywhere app on the TV, it was almost too dark. Watchable, but noticeably darker than any other HDR content. The colors also looked a bit washed out.

When viewed through the Apple TV app on my Roku Ultra, brightness looked normal and colors looked good.

In all cases, this is literally the only letterboxed HDR content I’ve watched that doesn’t cause the black bars to light up when something bright is near the edge of the picture. Which is my biggest annoyance with the TV, particularly when the bright part is small and only causes a single zone in the black bar to light up.

Does anyone know why this is? Was this particular film mastered to 500 nits or something? I spent some time initially comparing various HDR content across all my streaming devices and never noticed a difference before.

Hi guys/gals - I have an xbr900F bought in February 2019. I recently moved temporarily to an apartment while my permanent home was waiting to move to my permanent. So 2 moves within 7 weeks. Moved myself, no moving company. The XBR900F was carefully wrapped in a blanket and transported in the back seat of a car. Reconnecting after first move to apartment was fine, second move to permanent home, not so much. So I have horizontal lines now across the upper portion of the screen, a very thin vertical colored line down left edge about a foot long. I have a Pioneer AVR with external speakers with an Apple TV connected to the AVR with AVR connected to Sony by HDMI. Very rural area so no repair services available. Can I do anything to fix the lines on the 900F or is it hopeless? I have tried the usual unplug/plug back in with no change.

it's damaged. you would need a new panel. probably more expensive than just buying a new tv unless you have an extended warranty or bought it with a credit card that covers accidental damage.

Dimming zone count is not the whole picture pun intended. It's how it is implemented. Sony does not release the dimming zone count but I have heard 48 on 55 and 60 on 65 so 72 possibly on 75 84 on 85. Assumption of course.

Trust me, I'm aware.... I was just curious as I've seen videos up the wazoo of people counting the zones on the 55". I just ordered a 85" (delivers tomorrow 6/2) and have been trying to find out how many but can't for the life of me find out. As the few videos I've seen of the 85" they talk about everything but this. I know it's not super important... I just want to know for my knowledge.

Hi all. Considering a 75” x900f. Looking through the threads to understand if the DV issue (too dim) is still an issue, but it sounds like if you bump up the gamma then it’s ok? Is that the general consensus? Thanks.

Nice! She's almost a hundred make sure your buddy's feeling strong, kinda a pain to hang. I wouldn't run it in the styrofoam/bag for long, there's vents at the bottom. Careful with the mounting screw depth, had to do a homecheepo run myself.

Stay safe!

Using the internal apps and upping the gamma looks good to me.

I used to install for a living, getting it up is no chore. I hung my 60" Pioneer Elite (weighs more than this tv) plasma myself... that was a nightmare with weight so I'm prepared for this guy. The guy coming worked with me doing installs so we are good. Do you happen to remember the bolt size by chance? I'm reusing my current mount as it's rated for 90"/175lbs... thanks for the tips though!! cheers.

Hello I'm new here.

Hi GFishxyz, there's a remote by Blackweb and a stand sold dirt cheap at walmart for this tv. It should hold you over until you can buy the official remote and stand.

My quarantine buddy: X900F 55"
