3 Tv's are currently setup plus one 50 inch vizio is still in the box, which my moms BF owns. 2 CRT Tv's are running and one older "23" LG LCD TV is running in my room as part of my setup.

You left out an option for "zero". We have a dedicated home theater, not connected to anything TV-like except the Internet. No cable, no antenna, nothing but Internet.

I counted 4 TVs actually in use. And other posters raise a legitimate point:

What is a TV anymore?

I would argue that a TV is a direct view device with an integrated tuner that can at a minimum receive OTA broadcasts. You could stretch this definition to include a projector with an external television tuner. But beyond that, what do we call all the devices with a display that can stream video content from the internet or other sources? Smartphones, tablets, computers -- even seatbacks! There are a myriad of devices out there!

I agree! A built in tuner with good old rabbit ears makes a monitor a television.

Sony XBR65x900e / STR-DN1080 / original PS4 / WOW! Ultra TV / Quantum Access Mini PC Stick w/Windows 10 / 8 x Rockville SPG88 8“ DJ PA Speakers / Dayton Audio SA1000 / Kicker 08S15L74 in a Tapped-Tapered Quarter Wave Tube (negative flare tapped horn).

Do projectors count?

What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue:
Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems to be more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer...

There is no precondition as to what kind of TV qualifies for the poll. Whether you have a CRT, plasma, rear projection, LCD, or OLED TV, it counts toward your vote. So please vote in the poll, and if you feel so inclined leave a comment describing your TV collection. Did they accumulate over time or did you buy them all at once? I'm as interested in anecdotes as I am in the raw numbers the poll generates.

We have 6. The newest is a Sony 65-inch 4K in the living room. The one that was in the living room, a 55-inch Sony LED, is now in the bedroom. A Panasonic 55-inch plasma that was in the bedroom is now here in the computer room. I also have a 24-inch Vizio on my desk. Do we really need two in the same room? We have a 32-inch Sony in the guest room and I have a small 7-inch Axion portable that I use when in the yard.

Edit: Not really TV's, but receivers, I also have three HD Home Run receivers that are scanned by computer, with results shown on my website and on the RabbitEars bandscan maps. See link below.

2 TVs (so voted 2), but also 2 projectors, in 3 different rooms. LR has LG 65B7 plus a JVC projector, then an LG LED projector in office/library and a Vizio LCD in bonus room.

My system info.

250+?

Thirteen 21-inch color roundie sets RCA (CTC 5's-CTC 16's), Zeniths, Curtis-Mathes, Silvertones
Sony KV-3000R, the $10,000.00 set!
30-inch round CRT DuMont Royal Sovereign RA-119A
30-inch round CRT DuMont Royal Sovereign RA-119B
Sylvania HaloLight
27 Philco Predictas (1-Danish Modern, 6-Barber Poles, 3-Tandems, and the rest mixed 17 & 21 inch sets)
6 - Sony 8-301W sets
7 - Pilot Radio 3-inch sets
7 - Singer (Mitsubishi) TV-6U sets
A dozen or so JVC Videospheres, a couple VideoCapsules.
Several more novelty TVs
Samsung GXE1395 GXTV (built for gamers)
About 25 floor and table boxy B&W TV sets from late 40's through early 60's
About 40 5-7 inch CRT sets
Probably 150-200 tiny & pocket TVs (LED, LCD, tiny CRTs and flat CRTs)

Daily (LCD/LED) watchers: 50-inch Emerson in the living room, 32-inch Proscan next to the computer monitor, and a Sanyo digital CRT set on the kitchen counter.

Last fall I planned on repairing the unworking Philco Predictas assembly line style, and brought many home from the rented storage garages to my home garage. But back/foot/leg problems prohibited me from getting them downstairs to the workbench area. Sure wish I could beat this plantar fasciitis so I can carry things on stairways again...but it is getting somewhat better.

I really should be selling about 200 of these. I'm tired of paying storage for them, and I'd like to downsize my life quite a bit.

2, but i took 'TV' to strictly mean tv.

i also have 2 projectors, and a 'monitor'. but i think the answer suits, as those two tv's are the only devices i really watch television on. but my 'small' screens have certainly gotten more use lately than ever before. I never understood how people could watch movies on a laptop or tablet(i still don't like that) but i'm starting to find i do watch more youtube or streaming services on portable devices now. i'm starting to understand it makes more sense to have one small screen you can take anywhere, than to have a tv in every room(at my last house i installed a tv in the bathroom, for example). so, for now, i have a tv in the living room, tv in the bedroom, and projector in the basement theater(with that 'monitor' to help out in the equipment closet)

Displays: Samsung PN64F8500/JVC X35
AVR: Pioneer VSX-1130K, 7.1/5.1.2 audio
Sources: HTPC, PS3, XBOX360, Wii

As already asked but not answered:

1. Do projectors count? What about computer monitors, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc? Your article references "consuming content", so it seems you want to know on how many devices and that may include all types of display technologies.

2. Why no option for 0? I imagine there are a few around AVS who don't own any nor consume any content.

But, as phrased, is the question even relevant today? I watch TV on any number of screens other than "TVs." I have a laptop computer, two iPads and a cell phone, all of which I use on a regular basis to watch television. But for the poll, I responded with 3, as that is the number of traditional TVs we have at home (and not counting the 19" TV I have in my office).

Still a TV regardless of where you get the signal from.

I don't agree. TVs have tuners. A projector really can't be called a TV. It's a projector. A screen with no tuner is a monitor.

I'm looking for TVs, but flat-panel displays (i.e. monitors) used as TVs can count.

1. Projectors do not count
2. Computer monitors are a bit trickier but as a rule I'd say no. If you have a big one you use to watch movies, sure.
3. Definitely not asking about portables
4. The number of U.S. households with zero TVs, and no way to get content, is very small (under 5%) and if you live that way (for whatever reason) this is probably not going to be the site you visit.

I use GVA 24 inch TV for my satellite TV room. They all have the Terrestrial tuner in side of them and only two can be connected to the Terrestrial TV network to the house antenna. The Others use HDMI via a Matrix and other switches including HDMI splitters to Sat Boxes, but I use all of them most of the time.
Yes I don't live in the US but we have similar interest.

Some great points about how TV's are now only one of many ways to view content today. I have 3 traditional TVs, but...maybe 7 other viewing devices that are regularly used. For me, the TV is for group viewing and movies, while phones and tablets are for short individual viewing.

I said 4
but I'm counting the number of displays which are used largely for video watching, two of them are monitors.
50" LG Plasma as the main screen
106" pj screen/LG PF1500 LED pj for movie time
27" LG monitor in my wifes studio she uses to play videos while working (as a secondary monitor from her laptops hdmi)
24" LG monitor in the living room, I use it to watch vids on headphones while the wife is watching stuff on the plasma
