That’s the great part. It seems the q7 has 4.1 surround in it. I didn’t realize this and had already planned for a sound bar (there's a special one made to fit this stand, $650) and it sounds so good didn’t need one! Totally blown away with the sound of the tv. Most tv’s on rtings are rated horrible for speakers, where ur usually says (horrible, must get a sound bar) and this one doesn’t. I also found out the q6 is a 2.1 and doesn’t sound near as good.

there's a new update out (1202, it's already on US server if you know how to get it) but don't get too excited: there're no noticable changes to PQ and Contrast Enhancer is still total abomination that crushes shadow details (was hoping they are fixing it and making it like Dynamic Contrast on older models but oh well).

So nobody has been able to get ambient mode working on a remote such as a harmony?

You could try contacting Logitech and seeing if they are able to manually add in the control, they are generally really good about doing that if it's something it's able to do.

Just setup my new 65" and its messed up. Back to Best Buy I guess. It does not detect any sources and restarted about every 30 seconds.

EDIT - maybe it will be ok. One Connect cable seems to be very sensitive as far as needing to be perfectly seated. It did not move visibly, but something changed and I can see the source.

Any idea how to change what it auto set for an input name for hdmi4? It is one input from my receiver but it always says AppleTV no matter what source.

I also have to figure out why my Harmony Hub keeps turning the power off on the tv when changing activities. It’s like it is using toggle instead of separate on off. The factory remote is too simplified.

The Tv will detect whatever is turned on and set on your receiver when you turn the TV on when first setup, in your case AppleTV. While the TV is on, try setting your receiver input to one that doesn't have anything plugged into it and then unplug/replug the hdmi cable to the One Connect, it should then list the receiver.

For turning the TV off when changing activites, if you are using a harmony hub, I would recommend turning off the CEC (Anynet+) on the TV and receiver, since the Harmony should be controlling what is turned off/on.

Is there a way to see things like resolution and frame rate being output? When I play a 4K disc all I see with the info button is UHD Color.

Also, I came turn game mode on or off, but auto is greyed out.

Thanks again.

I have some blur in both sides of the screen, is that normal or sign of a faulty panel?

Does that update fix the Vudu audio drop outs for UHD movies?

How bright is HDR on movies? Does the Q7 give blinding highlights that make anyone squint at times? I'm looking for something close the highlights that were on the X930E.

Honestly, im still debating on the Q7 or the X900F. I boiled it down to which ever one gives more pop in HDR (brighter highlights) is the one I'm gonna get. There are NO video's anywhere of the Q7 HDR playing a Movie, I've been researching for over a Month. Yes i know the RTINGS scores for HDR, X900f has higher peak real scene, Q7 is showing much higher peak Highlights. I just need to know from people who own the Q7 first hand if the Highlights are anything like we have seen on a TV such as the X930E.

Here is a quick video of HDR Brightness/highlights on the X930E for reference...

Thanks Guys

not sure how can you judge brightness by watching YouTube videos of people watching their TVs but that's topic for another discussion.

Q7 is perceivably brigther than 900F if that's what you're asking.

Yes, that's all i was asking. Does the HDR ever have you squinting? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but over the internet i can't think of a better way to ask without seeing it in person. Thank Man!

if you're hoping to squint at every HDR movie, you're in for a disappointment. very few titles are mastered to have those crazy bright highlights but yes, Q7 can make you squint.

Has anyone managed to program a single remote control command to turn game mode on and off? Navigating the TV menu is not bad but not as convenient is a single remote command.

I just updated to 1202 and now the home button doesn’t bring up the smart hub at all. I can’t even get to the smart hub from controls on the tv itself. I tried a reset and that didn’t help. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I called Samsung and they are sending a new remote. Hopefully that fixes it. At least I have an app on my phone that I can use. You can reset it in the settings.

Just got our 75” Q7FN and hung it up and thought I would share some thoughts. The one connect set up is really a game changer for us and it’s what got my wife on board for the purchase. We have a dog that would constantly attacking our entertainment center if there was something he didn’t like, and a 2 year old that was constantly pushing buttons a getting finger prints all over the TV. Now we have recaptured a whole corner of our living room and can ensure nothing on the TV is attacked or touched.

Ambient mode was also a factor as we hung it with the no gap wall mount over our fireplace. I agree there seems to be a lot of bugs to be worked out in ambient mode especially when it comes to fine tuning the background. At the end of the day the “ambient” feature is a little silly anyways. The better part to me is that you can put up framed art in a low power setting. For those curious, I have a whole house energy monitor that can dial down to specific appliances. The TV measured 90-120 watts depending on the brightness is the screen in normal settings (no eco) and around 30 watts in Ambient mode. I’m looking forward for to more updates but it is more than functional. It goes off when we turn off the lights, and turns on when we start our morning. One glitch that I’ve been experiencing is once it turns on in the morning, it goes into the options menu for a few minutes unprompted. It eventually backs out but it is an annoyance.

The picture looks incredible in my opinion. I had bought a 2018 65” LG SK8000 and I was constantly annoyed at how any dark scenes looked like garbage. The Q7FN picture quality is infinitely better. So far I’m very happy with the purchase. Attached is a picture of the set up with the TV in Ambient mode.

Hi All.
I received my 65" yesterday. I tried Rtings calibration settings and wasn't impressed. Are there any other calibration settings floating around?
Thanks

@denpom , do you have idea about differences between 75Q7FN and 75Q8FN ? I was wondering if I should get the Q7FN (which looked pretty good in best buy after fiddling with settings) and pocket the difference?

That guy is a piece of ****. He just blabbered something about Q7FN based on some reviews i.e. no 3d pop, aggressive crushing etc. The fact is he doesn't even own the TV. He just owns 2 TVs - Q8FN, X900E and then "reviews" other TVs using the same models. He is careful not to display the TV model no as he shoots every "review" in a dark environment so people can't figure out which TV they are actually looking at.

I wanted to get others thoughts. In the attached picture there is blooming in the bottom corners and not what I would call uniform. Unless it is a black screen, not really noticeable but I’m wondering if I got a bad panel especially after reading posts about how this set has stellar uniformity. I’m using @denpom settings suggestion.

what are we looking at exactly? a grey screen test? it's impossible to tell from your image what's really going on. do you see any anomalies with real content?
