I'm not sure if someone has already reported this but the 2018 P75-F1 is now available online from Costco Canada. They also have the 2018 P55-F1 plus the 2018 versions of the M, D and E series all online. The P65 available is still last year's 2017 E1 version though.

So, i think I have this problem as well. It's only noticeable on very bright scenes where the whole panel is nearly completely white, and i'll notice the FALD zones very faintly. Is that not normal?

To a certain degree I think it is. If you look really closely at the 50% Grey picture from the rtings review you can faintly make out the grid.

Yes, under those circumstances, you would normally be able to see them "very faintly."

Honestly Directtv now doesn’t work well casting to the Sony i don’t know why, i feel Vizios google cast is a bit smoother. What i did notice yesterday was I casted from the CW app to the Sony and the upscaling on that was a little sharper than the Vizio but i think it also has to do with it being able to get brighter than the Vizio. I will try again tonight.

Is it safe to assume that the stand footprint dimensions of the P65-F1 as listed on the rtings.com review will be about the same for the P-series Quantum?

i was watching planet earth 2 in 4k hdr and it was the episode about the Himalayas, so a lot of scenes with a full panel of bright white snow, and i could notice the FALD zones. Other content I don't see them. Only if i'm looking for them in a bright scene do i notice them.

Can anyone that owns the new 2018 P series let me know if Dolby Vision works on the netflix/amazon/vudu apps that come pre-installed in the tv?

I am debating adding the 75 P series to my list of Tvs to buy which now only has the 900F on the list because of Dolby Vision support.

Thank you in advance.

Its interesting because it does not show to be available for purchase currenlty from Best buy.

Thought I would show another picture with actual footage on it (thanks for the tip Planet Earth 2 guy haha)

I see what that guy was talking about banding, but I do think my top right corner is worse than the other areas.

Thank you mdog73, just wanting to make sure. I know vizio advertises all over that the P series supports DV just wasnt sure about the internal apps.

I do mostly 4k streaming so getting a 4k player wasnt really in my plans.

Im really hoping Amazon does as well.

I would rub the heck out of that screen (pretty aggressively) using a microfiber cloth. I bet that would help.

Got P55-F1 number 3 today. Screen looks clean after a few dead pixel test screens I found only 1 red sub pixel not shining brightly, which I figure I will not ever notice. Firmware updated to 1.0.18.4 when I hooked it up. Running internet through hardline to it and getting about 25Mb/s and after all updates and a factory reset and soft power cycle the set seems solid! Hooked up to Sony X700 with some Planet Earth 4k blu-ray HDR10 and at first the TV input option was grayed out for UHD color like above have mentioned, but once I had the disk in and selected the disk I went back into the TV input settings menu and the UHD color option was now available. I think we are ready to play now! Sound system is the next upgrade on the list.

As far as I know Amazon doesn't have DV. I can confirm the native app does 4K HDR10 as that is what Amazon supports

What an ordeal. I'm happy to hear you finally have the TV you deserve. My P65 has been nearly flawless so far. I only notice very slight vertical banding when the camera pans. I have to look for it though, if I don't I can't see it

I got a follow-up call today from Vizio regarding my previously mentioned HDMI/freezing issues. They do seem legitimately interested to find the root cause of my problem. If you are having issues, do give the support people a call/email as they are surprisingly good.

Got my P65 today and did some basic calibration. Started with the rtings settings, added some more backlight to the calibrated dark, and then used Disney WOW (do folks still use this?) to dial in the contrast better. I'm no expert but the picture does seem a lot better than the 2017 M65 I returned.

I do have dark areas in the corners as a few other folks had, but it doesn't seem too bad. I've uploaded a few photos to give the idea, let me know if you have any thoughts. Ignore the slight reflections in the first two pics. Will add more impressions as I play with it more, especially when it comes to gaming, looking forward to testing this thing out.

I couldn't tell you exactly what shows (besides Bosch) are available in DV with Prime, but I know that Amazon announced plans to support DV as long as two years ago, and that Dolby listed Amazon as supporting it at CES this past January. Last I read, though, it was only available to US customers, whereas all their content is available in HDR10+ everywhere.

I just checked and it looks like the TV native Prime Video app can stream UHD but not HDR. On my Apple TV 4K I can get UHD HDR10, I have yet to see a single DV title on Prime Video so if anyone wants to point me to it I'll happily check and see if it works via Apple TV or Vizio Prime Video app

I'm curious as to what you ended up with for Disney WOW. I finally connected my Sony Blu Ray player today and I realized it sends a bright image to my TV and it makes the blacks gray. I had to lower Brightness to 35 and Contrast to 40 when watching Blu Ray as I can't seem to find a single setting on my old Sony BDP that suggests it is doing anything to the picture. It clearly is though. Guess I need to get an UHD Blu-ray player soon... An excuse to purchase an Xbox One X I guess.

By the way, my rtings settings work perfect for everything else. I have brightness and contrast at 50, Clear Action on, Xtreme Black engine Medium

Would you be willing to compare the DTVN coming from your ATV4K, instead of casting?
