I had this problem when I installed my P605 last year. The easy solution: an ordinary extension cord.

In the review they mention HDMI port 3 had a lower input lag which I find weird. Also they mention 600 nit max brightness where I’ve heard up to 850 from Chris Heinonen on Twitter.

It's strange that he didn't measure the other inputs with game mode on, and if he did, why didn't he post the results?

Seemed like an overall overview more than an in-depth type of review.

From what I’ve tested and seen so far, I would say if you would only have to pay an extra $150 than it would be worth it. I wouldn’t pay much more than that because I don’t see a huge improvement over last years.

So I am home, this is the power cord. I did not dig behind to fully unplug, but I would say the 33" mentioned earlier is probably accurate. For those that care, it is a little less than 3" to bottom of TV (not screen). Also I inverted legs on my 55" and it is 29" wide stance. Hope this helps. Have company coming, but snuck this in real quick.😁

This review says contrast ratio is 200:0.02 or 10,000:1. I expect this is the CR with FALD, not the native CR of the panel.

Oh noooo!

Anyone expecting their delivery for tomorrow make sure you check the FedEx website.

Amazon confirmed in chat this morning I would receive mine tomorrow. On amazon it still says delivery for tomorrow but I just checked the fedex website tracking and my delivery now shows 5/3. Since it is shipping ground and coming from CA (I am in northeast PA) I doubt it will be here in time.

I did just go into chat again after seeing this and was still assured it will be here tomorrow and refunded the $30 i paid for Saturday delivery. Doesn't make total sense the way he described:

06:08 PM PDT Utkarsha: I have checked it with my internal resources , it would get to you by tomorrow , Please do not worry , That day which you are referring to is a lock period for the day , In case the item does not get to you by this date, we check it with all the available resources and can go ahead and issue you a refund for the item after this date

It seems it is coming via ground and it is a 36 hour drive. I am losing hope. Anyone else have this happen to them? Was just really looking forward to getting this tomorrow and the wind is now out of my sails haha.

I'm in the same boat as you. My FedEx status is still at label created but is still expected to be delivered by 12pm tomorrow. I'm in NYC and it's coming from California.

Based on that chat you posted, I think what he means is you will get the refund if you don't receive it tomorrow.

“Jonathan.
I have checked the order and found that this order is shipped on Friday, April 27, 2018.

I have checked with my internal resources and they confirmed that the order will be delivered by the end of the day on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

I know you had to contact us and face this inconvenience.
We certainly did not expect this to happen to our prime members.
So I extended your prime by 1 month and refunded the shipping charges for 1 day shipping.

I’m in the SE and in the same boat. FedEx hasn’t updated since the initial “label created” scan. Fingers crossed but not hopeful.

At least I am not alone, such a bummer.

Just got off amazon chat again who directly contacted fedex who confirmed it will not be here tomorrow. They did refund the saturday delivery charge and threw me an extra $20 so you may want to contact them.

They last chat said the had had stock supply issues and I ordered very early Thursday morning. Hopefully those with estimated shipments dont get pushed back even further.

Bummer.

Forgot to ask, can anyone with the Amazon model check under the remote's battery cover to read the label?

For example, the previous 2017 TCL enhanced remote was referred to as model RC126 (in the Roku menu), as well as BRC64 (TCL part number):

Even more conflicting info. I called fedex directly and they told me they havent even picked the package up yet, they wouldnt pickup again until Monday and I would be lucky to even receive it next week with it going ground and the distance to me. I think amazon might have overestimated their stock and we might be seeing bigger delays on this.

I am going to call my local best buys in the morning since it seems like someone earlier had luck getting one in store already. Although online orders on bestbuy.com are estimating June delivery at this point. If that is the case I may wait for some more in depth reviews to make sure my snap decision to buy one of these was the right one. I already have a KS8000 for games and a 65 inch vizio in the living room AND a 100 inch projector setup. This is was more of a want than a need. Good luck to everyone else!

Just got off the chat with Amazon and they still guaranteed an 11am delivery tomorrow. I'm not gonna stress too much and just see what happens tomorrow. I'll deal with it then if it doesn't arrive.

Ugh, I've been keeping an eye out for the release date on this thing for months and checking to see if anyone is selling it online each day recently. Yesterday I didn't get a chance to check and I had May 1st as the important date in my mind. I look today and see it can be purchased. Go to Amazon, 65" temporarily out of stock. Best Buy says delivery sometime in June

I placed the order on Amazon anyways and have yet to receive an estimate as to when it will ship. Has anyone ordered the 65" on Amazon today and gotten an estimate? Did I see someone say they got an estimate that it would be several months before shipment already? Also, is it possible that Best Buy will have units on the floor starting on the May 1st release date for walk-ins?

When ordering the 65" on Amazon, it said 2-3 months. When I went into the order details today, it said estimated date of May 10/11. Who knows how accurate that is.

I'm sorry but that's nonsense. The objective measurements put the TCL R617 very much in the territory of the X900E.

I ordered my 65” off of amazon even though it shows unavailable. Upon ordering it, it shows, “shipping Sunday with a delivery date between May 10 and 12th”. I’m not confident with this date and my just pick up the 55 inch from Best Buy’s warehouse in Perth Amboy, NJ tomorrow. I returned my Vizio 65” and need my replacement.

That's what I did, but I only had this big industrial one in the garage that I use for power tools. Since I would need to buy a new cord either way, I figured I'd just grab one that's perfect for the TV rather than an extension cord. I can grab one on Monoprice for under $2.

Well, that’s frustrating. I tracked the shipments through FedEx and now they are saying ground delivery by 5/03. What in the what!?!? I just sold both of my TVs -_-

For sure. No LCD has a native contrast ratio that high. But that's an extremely high contrast even for a FALD LCD. For comparison, that same site measured the 2017 Vizio P as having a "contrast ratio of almost 8,000:1". Which is pretty amazing considering the Vizio P has one of the highest contrast ratios among FALD LCD TVs, beating out great performers like the Sony X900E, Sony X900F, Sony X930E and Samsung Q8FN. In fact, the only FALD LCD TV I think I've seen with a higher contrast ratio than the Vizio P is Sony's very expensive X940E, which has lots of dimming zones and a very good algorithm.

So the TCL R617 having a 10,000 : 1 contrast ratio is pretty incredible.

This is beyond frustrating. I have people legit coming over tomorrow to check out the TVs I am selling, thinking my new ones would be here tomorrow. I talked to Amazon chat support which was completely useless. The chat agent assured me 50 times it would be here tomorrow and I was like, "Well, unless you put the wrong tracking information for these shipments on your website, I called FedEx and the guy told me flat out that NEITHER of my items have even gone over to FedEx thus far. He said I should "maybe" get the package by Thursday, but at this rate since it didn't go out today it could be the following week. I'm like... wow. Amazon refunded my shipping charges but that was it. I asked to speak to a Manager and he gave me the same chat link I used to talk to them in the first place. Seriously, insanely frustrated now. This is ridiculous.
