Yeah I believe they are adding a 75” 2019 6 Series panel and updating the operating system of the current 6 series panels.

According to this, the 6 Series will be getting minor improvements and a new design - https://displaylag.com/tcl-brings-8k-and-revised-6-series-tvs-to-ces-2019/

Oh ok. Not sure then. I am not confused and would like to know more about the 2019 models lol. From what I read the only new R6 series for 2019 was the 75” version. And the rest were getting a big OS update.

with the mentioned and existing 75" 4K and the announced 8K, i didn't notice or realize that TCL was releasing more 2019 tv's. they don't mention that in the link provided above my post nor in the video that's at the link site. perhaps i missed it?

From what I what I can tell that is the only new 6 series tv and then they are releasing an 8k tv. The 75” 6 Series tv is out already.

agreed, i think someone, not you a couple of post back asked when the new 6 series were going to be released. i was saying based on the link and what i knew that there are no more "new" 6 series tv's coming out, just potentially an 8K and i don't know if that's going to be a 6 series or a new series line all together.

The 8k looks like it will be 8 Series.
Hopefully someone can confirm 100% because the TCL is on my list of potential TVs to get.

You might be right. For what it's worth, the link I posted is the only site that mentions a refresh for the 6 series -

"TCL revises 6-Series for 2019
The 6-Series is still being retained in 2019, though much information wasn’t available to me in terms of what’s new. I was told to expect picture quality improvements, and more information would be announced at a later date. However, the 6-Series is sporting a new look compared to the 2018 model. You can check it out in the gallery below:"

If there were going to be any totally new TCLs they would be out already. We're well past the time when new models are introduced. You see those at CES in January.

Had a reboot on my TCL. I was on the Roku home screen and the remote stopped responding, after a few min the tv reboots, I also had a few weird ARC handshake issues where the receiver wasn't connected even though the system/advanced/CEC showed the AVR was detected with audio control enabled.

Are these common issues? I'm a bit concerned since my tv is <1 month old but outside the return window. Not that I plan to return it but just want to know if I got a bad set.

Just so you know rebooting the tv fixed the issues I was having.

That’s because Netflix is broken on the Xbox One it’s always in HDR even with SDR content. Known issue since 2016 that will probably never get fixed since both blame each other

Just pulled the trigger! My venerable 2004 Mitsubishi 65" RPTV is headed to the dump. It still works but no one wants it which is understandable. The 65" TCL is being picked up today from BestBuy. Also ordered a Latitude Run Stemple TV stand online which will handle TVs up to 150 lb and 85" on it's integral VESA. It sports 2 shelves which can handle 40 and 80 lbs respectively and is can be setup on either casters or adjustable feet. Went this route as I didn't want a wall mount and needed shelving underneath the TV for my center channel speaker. Should be here early next week.

Really looking forward to this. Hoping to set up my computer as a network server using VLC Media Player to feed content to the TV as well as using my outdoor OTA antenna. Cutting the cable cord too but haven't decided what services to get.

Just got this same TV stand but with the 75" 617. I love the setup. I used the rollers and even with the weight of the TV feels very sturdy and rolls easily

Has anyone had to buy a replacement remote WITH HEADPHONE JACK or contact TCL for replacement? I’m hearing impaired (which so many make jokes about or treat it as insignificant but minor things to some are important to us) and the headphone jack is a must for me. Can’t locate one so I contacted Roku and their response was that the remotes they sell are not compatible with TVs. TIA

Just got my 65S615 today and downloaded the Roku app on Google Play. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...om.roku.remote
Works great in remote control mode and allows earphone use through your smartphone.

Glad to know I made a great buy. With it being capable of handling larger panels it won't become obsolete any time soon. I'm planning on using the casters as well.

Wow, I'm really pleased with this TV if only for the fact it has capability for the Xfinity streaming app. I love being able to watch live TV without another cable box. I was just browsing the live TV channels, and found out I can watch the HD channels even though I don't have HD service. Bonus!

I'm noticing something a little strange and am worried it may be a significant issue. Again I've only had the 65S615 for a day.

When content is panning across the screen or there is quick movement where there is a significant light -dark contrast, there can be a subtle shimmering of that small portion of the image. Now this is intermittent and not a constant for similar screen content. It is also found in SD, HD, and 4K from any source.

I am aware that constant significant whole panel shimmering is indicative of a faulty or failing internal connection. But is what I'm seeing a harbinger of bad things to come? Color me worried. That said in all other respects the TV is simply outstanding.

Do you have motion interpolation turned on? It doesn't take much movement for garbage to appear around an image when the motion interpolation is on. This shows up on all TVs with the motion interpolation on. But on the TCL it shows up much sooner than it does with some of the higher end TVs. The higher end TVs typically can handle much more motion on the screen before this garbage appears around the images.

I have the motion interpolation turned off on my 6 series.

Okay I'm new to this unit. Where do I go to turn it off?

The pdf user manual shows "action smoothing" has a different default setting for each picture mode. I don't see a "universal switch."

Once you switch it off it will remember it for that specific picture setting.

Ah.. okay. From what you said earlier I'd thought there was a master switch. I did find it was enabled in several picture modes which I've now changed. Thanks!

Works great in remote control mode and allows earphone use through your smartphone.
The apps have lower volume to begin with and the Iphone headphone jack is just not loud enough for me. I have a severe heating loss but if I can get an ear bud into my ear canal along with captions it improves the quality of watching a program a great deal.

Does anyone know if BestBuy will let you play your own content off a thumb drive to test the TVs out? If so what would be the best movie/clip to test out this TCL?

Are you using the Beta version of the Xfinity app? That is all I found when I looked a week or so ago. I ave Xfinity cable not TV and keep getting emails from them about the app., thought I'd give it a try and see if I get anything.

SInce when do the apps have a lower volume? They are the same volume level as my external Rokus.
My ATV 4Ks are my only devices where the volume level is much lower. But then the ATV 4K is decoding everything to PCM and then it's volume level is set lower for some reason, instead of the level it should be.

They did at the three Best Buy stores I was at last year. When I was deciding on which TV to get.
