Got a 75" I used to be able to use the THX app to adjust my old HDTV. Now with all the extra settings, I am confused. Can someone give me some tips?

Does anyone have the problem with their Chromecast Ultra? I have the Chromecast Ultra connected to my Pioneer Elite 502 and that is connected to HDMI4 ARC. Cannot get it to show up on HD or 4k. but if I hard default the chromecast, it'll show up with the setup menu.

Hi all,

Got one of these 65" recently, been reading through this thread, very informative.

I haven't seen this question addressed though:

When I look at my available sources in the home row, I can see my computer there, but when I click on it, it says "no content available".

Is there something I need to do to enable content? I have shared folders, and my media player can see those folders. Do I have to install something like Plex on my computer?

Thanks for any tips.

New here - My 75NU8000 just arrived. I dont even have it fully unboxed yet. This forum helped me make the choice to go with this TV and im thankful for all you guys (gals).

I may be moving abroad (to the caribbean) and am curious what the process is to change the localset on this TV. I have seen ways to do it on different model but nothing on this model. Reason being this TV has built in PVR that is turned off for the US/Canadian markets. Once I move I want to know if I will be able to use it or if I should be looking to sell this TV and buy another once I get down there.

If this is posted in the wrong area please help point me towards the right place as I am having trouble turning anything at all up on the topic.

TIA

I'm disappointed with this because it means I'll need to manually swap TV inputs and have to buy a 4k Blu-ray player to get DTS HD-MA and Dolby TrueHD because ARC can only output Dolby Digital.

I understand wanting auto Game-Mode but it only takes a second to toggle on Game Mode. Then you wont have to through the extra steps and buy a new 4K player. I use the remote and speak into the bixby button and just say "turn on game mode". Done!

I believe your just seeing the network the PC is on. You have to manually plug the PC into the TV. It's covered in the manual.

Yes, I believe you're correct. It also sees my media players on the network.

Too bad it won't allow me to logon to the pc and see my files.

I'll have to research if there's something, like maybe Plex that allows that, otherwise what's the point of showing the pc as a source?

Thanks.

Don't get a Samsung uhd/4k player from walmart! They only had J & K models. samsung.com has the M. The earlier models don't get along well with IOT aka "SmartThings" app

Since your a gamer I would consider an XBOX One X as your 4K player. 4K movies and 4K gaming!

I was thinking the same but I am really a ps4/Nintendo switch guy, and from what I have been reading the xbox one x is not really a good 4k player for picture quality, but I don't really know for sure.

my playstation 4 pro is not passing the hdr signal to my Samsung nu 8000, could it be my receiver a Marantz n1605, I have a spare denon avr s910 will that pass the 4k hdr signal better, or could it be my cables? I usually make my receiver the switcher between devices, should run everything into tv and make the tv the switcher instead? oh 82" is awesome!!!

Try the playstation straight to the TV and see if it works. If no go then bad cable. Your NR1605 should pass the signal up. again could be bad cable.

I am concerned about the NU8000. The KS8000 puts the NU8000 to shame side by side.
That’s being said. The Vizio P65-F1 or P55-F1 in side by side test put the KS8000 to shame.
That make me wonder.
Thanks YouTube.

ps4 tells me my tv is not hdr compatlable, so I am thinking its the cheap cables I am using, order some monoprice premium cables, to see what happens, also looking to purchase an xbox one x.

Try the rtings settings but turn the back light up to around 35-40 (they recommend 11 but say changing it does not effect picture quality). This seems about right to me and is what others have suggested as well.

Hey all - I own an 82MU8000 and had a few issues with it. Samsung is now sending me a new tv which is the 82NU8000.

I should have it next week and will be getting it professionally calibrated before Christmas. With the MU8000 I noticed a huge difference in picture quality when getting it calibrated. Rting settings did not compare.

Looking forward to the subtle improvements the NU8000 has over the MU8000.

in HDR+ Picture mode TV should see any HDR signal and change automatically? HDMI UHD Color is enabled. with it enabled it does change standard programming.

I have Anynet+ enabled using ARC out to Denon AVR-1400h and TV will turn the receiver off, not on.

any recommended picture settings other than rtings.com?

I tried them first and true it was very dark, I raised it to 25 but now I'll try your advice and raise the ceiling > 35-40
