Just a heads up for anyone that bought the P75-F1 from Costco, it went on sale for $200 cheaper today so you should go here and request a price match for $200 (+ sales tax) back on your credit card!

I cant find it on their website now. Not sure if that is a glitch, or what.

That's weird... I cannot get it to come up by navigating through their menus. Oh well...

I am debating whether I want to submit a claim for the money back or not. With all the hoopla about this set, I'm worried I may end up sending it back if it's not great, and if so, then I'll end up spending more to buy a different/bigger set, so the $200 back will actually end up just being spent again anyways. The sale is supposed to be on for a few weeks, so I guess I'll wait and see how things go. I can always claim it in a week or two if my TV is working out well.

I just want them to DELIVER THE DANGED THING! Still no movement, been sitting with CEVA for a week with no update on status.

To add to this, I was able to use online chat through BB.com and have them successfully price match the Costco sale price (I am not a Costco member)

replaced my 2017 e70-e1 with a p65-f1 yesterday and so far I am extremely impressed with the PQ on this bargain TV. This is the first time I've had a TV with picture quality high enough that I've actually witnessed the illusion of a 3D image because of the excellent contrast and detail. Watching a few episodes of Planet Earth II in 4k HDR last night it really did look at times that the picture had 'depth' into the screen, it was pretty awesome!!

I use an NVidia Shield TV linked through a Samsung HW850 Atmos soundbar to play all my content. So far ARC is working well and I'm not seeing any HDMI issues. I have noticed the odd very slight Judder in some content but I haven't spent time on framerate matching and other motion settings yet. Hopefully I can get it as liquid smooth as my Sony SXRD PJ downstairs which I drive with a HTPC running MadVR.

Picked up the P65 at BB with a promotional 11% rewards for using my BB card so that was a nice plus.

Also sorry if this has been asked already, but do the new P-Series have Atmos pass through over ARC? I know my Samsung soundbar doesn't have DV pass through, so unless the TV can pass Atmos to the soundbar then I'm going to need to consider some kind of third party splitter.

If I do have to go the splitter route to get DV and Atmos, I'd like one that can do multiple 4:4:4 inputs if anyone has a suggestion that wont break the bank.

If you wanna see what your P Series can really do, check out “Altered Carbon” in Dolby Vision on Netflix. It’s one of the most visually striking things I’ve ever seen on a TV screen. The vivid colors and black levels, on top of bright HDR highlights, just wow.

Anyone having problems pairing your iPhone with the P65?

Tried the same process as with the E1, though it never finds the phone.

I've done a factory reset but still the same thing

This isn't TV specific but if you want to see what your Netflix stream is currently at, stream the following:

El Fuente: 60 main10

I had trouble finding it directly on the TV, but I added it to "My List" on the laptop and it showed up in the "My List" section on the TV.

It's a 7 minute test clip that shows the speed it's streaming at as well as the resolution.

https://www.netflix.com/watch/70297469?trackId=13630398

I haven't wired my set yet and my wifi is weak so it starts off at 1280x720 and slowly builds up to 3840x2160

TV: Vizio P75-F1 (2018) AVR: Yamaha RX-V683
Speakers: Polk S60 Towers / S35 Center / S20 Bookshelf Speakers / Atlantic Technology 262 PBM Sub

TV: 55LW5600 (mfg date 3/11) AVR: Pioneer VSX-45

Are you trying to pair using Bluetooth LE? If you are have you tried using the WiFi pairing method?

At this rate, I'll be lucky if my TV shows up before the sale ends on Aug 27th.

I purchased my p75 from Costco.com on 6/28. Yesterday, I submitted the price match request through their online form, and was notified today, that it was processed and will post back to my purchase card. Great news for on order that is just past the 30 period.

I've got 90 days' protection through my Discover card anyways, if I don't claim it through Costco. I just want my dang TV already.

Still file with Costco.com. As soon as the order ships from them, they’ll process the credit. You don’t have to have possession of the tv for the price match.

Don't have a atmos capable setup myself but fairly certain on the 2016/2017 p series atmos will come through over dd+. Obviously it won't be lossless but should map to 3d channels. Don't see why it would be any different on the 2018 sets.

Probably, but I'd rather have uncompressed sound as I really don't have much DV content at the moment.

I get that, but I'm waiting 'till I receive it and evaluate it, so that I don't end up getting a refund that I just end up spending on another set later if I have to return this one.

Trying the exact same way i did with the P65-E1 which worked.

Tried the Wifi option though no SSID comes up for the Vizio as described.

Have some steps Vizio support want me to do - factory reset (which I've done through the menu)

Though apparently there is another way by holding down the buttons on the side....will try later today

FYI for anyone that this may help:

I have a P65 F1 and on my setup, turning on the Quick Start option causes absolute havoc. It causes the input select to lock up/crash/reboot the TV, HDMI inputs to not work, audio issues. Ive tried enabling a couple times and it makes the TV unusable. If you are having issues and are using quick start, try ECO and see if it fixes it.

Did you factory reset the TV after updating to the latest firmware? I didn't do that and I was seeing all sorts of issues too in quick start but after factory resetting I now have quick start enabled and no issues

Yes I did. After the factory reset I kept it on Eco mode and all was well. The other day for the heck of it i tried quick start again and huge problems. Back to eco mode. I have a support case open with Vizio.

Adding to my post above, I would say Im generally pleased with the set overall especially for a "budget" price. My previous TV is a Samsung F8500 Plasma which I still have in another room. Great TV and still enjoy it. Previous to that was a Pioneer Plasma. I thought about an OLED but this time around decided to get the best bang for the buck vs the high end emissive display. All the troubles with the TCL 6 series scared me off from that one. Who knows if it would have been better for me. Here are some random thoughts on it: This is not from a "pixel peeper" perspective

The picture overall is fine. I dont have the banding, DSE stuff people complain about but I dont spend all my time looking for it. Watching movies in a dark room is very good. I do notice on a white screen the very corners are a bit darker. I didnt have expectations of perfection with an LCD TV

I do use an OTA. This TV has no EPG which is a bit of a disappointment but not a show stopper. The TCL Roku would have been better in this respect. The upscaling of 720P, 1080i OTA is "ok"

The built in apps are "enough" for my use and contain the core apps that I use most often. Anything else I can cast to it

The biggest negative for me is the Viziocast OS overall. Its just not that great. Slow, buggy. The input switcher is especially poorly done. I want audio set to bitstream (which Im glad it has) and it randomly sets itself back to auto. For me, turning on quick start makes the TV completely unusable. Agan, the TCL Roku TV from an OS perspective would have been better than the Vizio OS.

This is my first exp with Vizio. Im hoping as firmware updates roll out that things will improve, but again, overall a decent TV for the $$

I now have a 2018 P-series collecting dust in my living room. The P is going back for sure due to unreliable OS.

I also have a new TCL 6-series and X900F.

So that has left it down to the X900F and the 6-series at least in my boat. The Sony seems to upscale xfinity a little better and motion seems to be better. On the 6-series I feel like on camera pans I can notice a judder. Could be a setting is off though.

I had all 3 playing Season 2, Episode 1 of The Expanse on Prime Video (not HDR) and all 3 sets looked so similar I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if they weren't back to back to back. LOL

The X900F has the least "DSE" & vertical banding of all 3. The P-series was next. The TCL had the most, but when I say the most, you have to have the right scene playing in normal day to day viewing to notice it. There is one "dark spot" like a shadow almost on the 6-series that is maybe a 1" x 1" that again you'd only notice on a sky or snow scene with the camera panning. Maybe golf and hockey or winter olympics would bring this out too.

The TCL had the most corner vignetting of all 3 but I usually don't stare at the corner of my screen either. lol

I really like the 4 HDMI inputs on the X900F. I have cable HDMI in, Bluray HDMI in, NAS HDMI in and would like to use HDMI ARC to a future soundbar.

I really like the OS of the 6-series. But it could use a "quick" input switcher button on the remote.

But then damn...over 2 times the cost for the Sony over the TCL seems like a lot to pay for the added benefits.

Is anyone with a 2018 Vizio getting anywhere near their proper network speed, when doing a network speed test through the TV UI?

I have 1Gbps internet and my P55 is getting max 20Mbps, whether it’s hard wired or using the 5ghz wireless. It frequently drops down to the single digits and I’m having trouble streaming UHD movies on VUDU. This is the only device in my house with network issues.

I would not trust that internal network test to be anywhere near close to an accurate test. I use wired and have not noticed any issues streaming 4K/UHD content (mostly Netflix).
