I am an hour away from home. Then I have to figure out how to get it down a flight of stairs by myself. I think I will employ the old sliding method.

Only Sony!

Btw perhaps when you're ready and feel like it, you could watch this demo clip on your Z9F:

Curious how it will look...

Well Sony typically has Cinema pro and cinema home. Pro is a bit darker and it's what I use but I tweaked everything anyway.

Well Sony killed their “Cinema Pro” mode which was the best overall preset built in, it’s being replaced by “Custom” so I would start with that or the new “Cinema” mode. If you have Netflix 4K then it should look quite good since they supposedly worked with the directors to try and get exactly what they wanted to show on screen.
With that all being said, Sony Master Series are suppose to be pre calibrated at the factory and ready to go.

Sony removed “Cinema Pro” on the new Z9F and A9F, it’s been replaced by “Custom” and “Cinema Home” is now just “Cinema”.

So I have a x930e, and the best modes for movies and pretty everything else is cinema home and cinema pro. However, sony has removed both of these modes and now its just called "cinema". I would probably recommend this mode. I'm not usually a big fan of standard. Also, make sure local dimming is set to high and extended dynamic range is set to high as well. For Dolby Vision content, change color temp to expert 1. Sometimes it defaults to something else(neutral for example) and it can mess up the pq. This typically happened with x1 extreme tvs with the DV update(x930e/940e/z9d, A1e) Looking forward to your "first impressions". Good luck.

That's why I said typically, thanks for the update. I guess I would just use custom then.

Zones are important, but I have heard the 65 z9d(600 zones) has worse black bar and local dimming performance(blooming problems) than the x940e(270 zones). So I would really focus on dark room performance. Is there blooming? How often do you see bright hallos on the black bars, ect? Also, check out specific content. My usual test is Bright(netflix) Ridiculous 6(starting at 33:21, campfire scene). If the bars are completely black during the Ridiculous 6 campfire scene, then the local dimming performance on this thing is terrific. When I had x850d, the black bars were bright or grey throughout this scene. With the x930(I have a broken panel now), I get some blooming throughout the scene, though not as bad as the x850d.
