No problem. Multitasking can be a bitch. Just don't read your cell while driving!

Crap...that's what I get for waiting. I wonder if they will go back in stock or know I need to wait for next year's model. Just closed on a house and is has a massive wall for a TV

Strange that other tv’s show as out of stock when they ran out and yet the 86” now shows as no product found. Just more mystery with this model.

Yes I was told they are going to $2999 as of midnight tonight. (That was what was listed in Costco’s comprehension I bought mine Thursday night) I think they said that price is through the 24th and then it will probably go to $3499 or something close to that.

Their online/phone support ends by 10pm EST on Saturdays. The item was listed on the website in the 9pm hour, but when I attempted to put it in my cart a few minutes after 10pm EST, it was not available. Makes me wonder if they are really sold out or if the sale price ended at 10pm EST today (instead of midnight). Guess we may know more tomorrow.

I suspect that local dimming will eventually show up on this set. Especially if they will eventually be asking $3500 for it.

I've seen the 900f around the 4k mark. I'm still not sure if I'd pony up another $1500 over the 86. I'm essentially getting the pq65 for our bedroom and the LG86 for the livingroom at same price as the 85 900f.

Now give me a Superbowl Sunday 3.5k buying opportunity on the 900f and I'll have some decisions to make.

If I still have panel uniformity issues on the replacement, then maybe I'll send both back and get the sony and put the old Vizio in the bedroom.

I will admit that Vizio was very good about improving tv performance through firmware updates. Their app situation is not good.

My Vizio and replacement LG are scheduled for delivery on the 10th.

Torn between waiting for this or grabbing the 75 or 85" 900f for a living room wall which is pretty big.

My 2cents

If you're a deal shopper regardless of finances: See how the 86LG plays out.

If you can easily afford the 85900f, then pull the trigger on that between now and Superbowl. I don't think we've seen the lowest price yet @4k.

If your stretching budget getting 900f, then just get the LG and be happy. I don't think the difference is worth someone stretching themselves thin.

Going on this wall. It's about 16ft ling and 11ft high. I can always move my P75 into this room and get a better set for gaming, moving room

My concern would be the potential glare from the three windows. It's Costco, so I say go for it and splurge for white glove. So they come pick it up if you no longer have it. I bought two TV's at the same time from Costco just to see how I like them. I have no problems sending both back.

According to Rtings, the UK6570 and the higher end SK8000, SK9000 and SK9500 all have excellent reflection handling so you might be OK with those windows. Although most of the room is narrow, anyone watching from the kitchen would benefit from an IPS panel like the LG has. And if you're viewing from the dining area, you want the biggest screen you can get. Taking the kitchen out of the equation, the FALD VA panel 900F would be fine, albeit expensive.

Here is some glare. You can see my reflection sitting on the ground. Blinds are shut, but light coming in from Windows above blinds.

It's really not that narrow and very wide. You can see from the plan however that whole wall are giant sliding glass doors. We get the second half of the day sun which sets in the back. I would need something with not much reflections however most of the watching would be after 6 p.m.

Since the sunlight comes in from above, you will certainly be subject to more glare with it sitting on the floor. Mounted high up on the wall, it will likely be above any light coming directly in from the windows. Have you mounted it up higher yet to see if the reflections are reduced?

Not yet. The room it will be mounted in won't be an issue.

Just asked LG yet another question regarding “Local Dimming” can’t wait to see their answer (if it get posted) question was: Now that the majority of the answers regarding local dimming are incorrect since it has been removed from the specs as a mistake, how does the “Ultra Luminescence” work if it’s not being dimmed? LG’s own literature shows it works along with local dimming.

This whole TV model is elusive especially now that it’s been removed from Costco and it’s not actually showing specs on LG site and not listed in their line up. Makes me think they did a year end update of the 6570 and gave it to Costco to clear out stock and now something new will come.
Best Buy shows that 86” 6850’s will be available again this week but no Dolby Vision yet LG shows that model with DV. I guess LG just hires a bunch of dimwits (with no oversight) to produce web pages and written literature that is totally haphazard and just close to what is really in these products.
This week Ultra Luminescence will most likely disappear too.
I just hope it looks good when it gets here and that I get lucky in the “Panel lottery”

Someone asked if the flashlighting on my set was present with the black bars. Yes

Sports look great. Picture looks quite a bit better after using the avs YouTube images to adjust color, tint, and luminance.

Whites are almost too bright on the chargers jerseys. My eye prefers sharpness set to 23 for OTA content. Avs calibration image could tolerate up to about 13. I used the YouTube app settings for OTA with minor tweaks to backlight, brightness, and sharpness.

My advice to those that purchased this model from Costco is to hold on to it, and the documentation that shows it was to come with local dimming. If a new model pops up, and this is no longer available. I'd be willing to bet you will get the new model as a replacement with a little legwork on your part. I had my current Vizio replaced 5 times before I received a panel I found acceptable.

Edit: added images.

If you zoom in on the motion image you can see the slight bit of haze that appears around the players due to the increased sharpness. It's not noticable while watching.

Did anyone download the spec sheets before they go changed? I saved the bookmarks and pages to my iPhone books but turn out it was just the links and now they are changed.

I'm having trouble calibrating this TV. I've used a couple calibration images, but still feel like the colors get too washed out. Wanting to find a real balance between vivid colors but still retaining details and contrast.

I'm pretty happy with my black levels, Don't watch much sports....

Would really appreciate it if you could share your settings.

Thanks!
