Did the 6570 have the alpha 7 processor? I didn't think so, but I could be wrong. This new model has alpha 7 chip. I thought only the SK8xxx to 9xxx had that. Only the sk9xxx have fald.

How difficult is it to take an older 86" panel, and fit it to full array backlight?

6570 also has alpha 7.

I managed to miss that the 6570 had full array and alpha 7. So yes, the difference would be the local dimming and added magic remote. Maybe they did misprint the specsheet. I'm still looking forward to checking it out. I'll have a Vizio pq65 next to it for comparison. Wizo gets here Wednesday, no word yet on the LG.

The 6570 has local dimming but no magic remote. Depending on size some of the 6570's are IPS panels and some are VA panels like the 70 inch.

The 6570 does not have local dimming, whether the 7570 does is still an open question. The 86 inch sets have IPS panels.

So the LG website just answered a question about FALD. They said that it is NOT FALD but does have Local Dimming. I have a chat that said it was so they clearly have their head somewhere quite dark.

I also have a chat that says this is direct lit, NOT edge lit.

So many questions......

Mine has shipped. I selected the White glove delivery so hopefully that doesn't delay things too much. I was worried it would be too much for me to handle on my own.

Any pictures of tv on in dark room. I'm curious about light bleed, uniformity, etc. My old Vizio bleeds a lot as the Amazon app is starting. Blacks look more blueish. Might be a good test for some pictures.

I saw some light bleed from the bottom left corner the other night watching Netflix.

Supposedly its an array lit panel, so how can it have local dimming without it being FALD? LG is being stupid on this.

If the 6570 is full array, then I would imagine this set would be the same.

Exactly. This is why I print/copy/email specs and chats. Just utterly dumb that they can't get on the same page on this.

so for those that have this tv, do you think it's a worthwhile purchase at 2.5k? Are you guys generally happy with picture quality?

I'm pretty sure any tv will beat my 8 year old 47" lg in picture quality.

I guess the othe contender in this range is the Samsung nu8000 82" or vizio e series in 82". How does this compare to them? My guess is that they are probably pretty similar.

I was hoping the 85" Sony xbr 850f would drop to $3k because I think that would be a step up.

The 6570 is an interesting choice as well, which with some stacking incentives is currently priced a good bit lower than the 7570.

I wanted to purchase the LG 86” 7570. Is the picture quality “good enough” considering the extra screen real estate (4 inches) compared to the Nu8000, QLED q6f? If it’s comparable in pq, I’m definitely gonna order it.

Yeah. Same dilemma. I’m trying to decide between this LG and the 82” 2018 QLED q6f.. Wish Costco have the LG displayed in store for side-by-side comparison

The black levels will likely be better on the Q6FN and the NU8000. The NU8000 is better bargain than the Q6, and nearly as good a performer.

The 86UK7570PUB specs sheet highlights local dimming feature of the TV. Hard to believe it is a mistake or oversight.

I agree its hard to believe it is a mistake. The specification sheet mentions local dimming a few times as a big plus to this model. But at the same time you would think the TV would have an option to control the dimming like just about every other TV with local dimming. I had a LG UJ7700 TV that was an edge lit TV with local dimming and it even had a picture setting of low/medium/high.

Potential owners: don't dismiss the magic remote as a plus over the 6570 model. It is a wonderful thing to use and I miss using one now that I don't own one.

@lytalbayre , the Sony 85” is on display at my local Best Buy and it looks great. Even with the Sony Oled directly next to it, the picture quality of the 850f is sharp. I rather go with the tv I actually got to see myself and is 3 inches bigger than the LG that I haven’t seen.

Probably tough to say as a lot is dependent on the user. The 6570 actually got pretty good reviews. Stating the ips panel had better blacks than most ips panels and great color reproducibility. The 86" has a 120hz panel, which was not tested, but should improve a few line items.

3-4 inches in size is a noticeable difference. If that is the main priority, then I'd think the 85"Sony vs 86" LG

Black level will be a sticking point for some, and others less so. I have a 70 e series 1080p Vizio from 2014. I still like the picture. Sure, the black levels aren't great, but I still comment on how much I like the picture.

"Quantity has a quality all it's own."

"There's no replacement for displacement."

At some point the value proposition fades as price goes up as you start paying for marginal improvement.

Your friends will care about the great picture quality for 2s, but you'll always be the winner on game day with 86" of screen real estate.

I'll have the 86" LG and Vizio PQ side by side soon. Hopefully I can then weigh in on the quality verses quantity.

What are the side by side specs of these models? Which has better processor, etc. 120hz panel, backlight type, etc? (LG, Sony, Sammy)

Interesting comment about Sony: "We haven't tested the 85" (XBR85X850F), but it likely uses a VA panel (similar to the 85" X850D) with a high native contrast ratio producing deeper blacks, but the image degrades when viewed at an angle."

Well said. I love the LG after watching it for a few days. Great picture.

Some specs TBD, but when it comes down to it no one will know but you when friends family are over. I had a projector in the basement and this is night and day different.

TV's are now obsolete two years after purchase so if you get too tied up in the specs you'll never be happy.

Can any owner tell me where this TV is made?
In other words, what does the back of TV say or box say?
"MADE IN ..."

Reason being, I am looking to import this TV and depends where it is made will dictate duties.
