Looks like the X800G is the same as the X800E with some updates (new stand) and added Google features. Same processor. Adds same larger sizes 65 and 75 from X850E.

I guess the only question is will any of the other UK models (discussed by techradar.com) make it to the USA. Techradar speculates maybe except the XG70 - UK only.

So UK models:

XG83 - 43, 49 Basic X1 processor
XG81 - 43, 49, 55 65 X-reality proceesor
XG80 - 43, 49, 55, 65, 75 X-reality processor - Announced for USA - X800G
XG70 - 43, 49, 55, 65 Basic model UK exclusive

So will Sony later announce an X830G or X810G for USA.

I say not, but Techradar thinks maybe.

For non-4K Sony has the WG6/W66G - likely would be a W600G /W660G.

Wow - Sony has pulled the X800G from its website. Either they decided to pull it or did not want to impact clearing out X800Es.

Hm. All the X8x0G series is still missing on Sony USA's site, while still listed in the UK, albeit with missing specs.

Really hope we get the X830G in the US.

This really is disappointing. Not sure why the TV makers don't think people what high resolution for small displays. I have some Sharp and Samsung 22-24" sets with 1080p and they really are much better then the junk sets at 720 - which all that is available these days.

Samsung has announced a 43" 4K RU7100 (replacement for NU7100) but it doesn't show on its site. But it does show on bhphotovideo for $427 pre-order. So I guess it will eventually arrive.

There is no replacement for the 40" Samsung NU7100 so Samsung is giving up too.
Also the Samsung Q60 is showing but missing is the announced 43" model QLED display from the website.

If Sony doesn't announced the X800G then no more Sony's for me.

Yes everyone wants a 98" TV - but you only need 1 of them. You need many small sets under 49".

Dell has an 32" 8K monitor - so small 32" 8K displays are being made. Give me a 43" 8K set.

Yep - At $649. And surprising that the 800E 43" is priced the same at $649. But not available yet - says "coming soon".

Maybe Bestbuy (and other retailers) will just push the 800E, and only sell the 800G if asked, until inventory is gone for the 800E.

Also, surprising that Sony doesn't list the price (sony.com) of the 800G in sizes 43, 49, 55. Only at 65 and 76".

...
I just chatted with a BestBuy rep, he couldn’t give me a date that the 800G might be available.

X800G is the same as x800E? Costco US website has the 49 inch 800e for $479.

Very interested in reviews of these when they hit for my parents. Too bad it seems we may not get the 830G's in the US this year. Would love to be wrong.

Also saw the 49 800E at Costco for $479. Bestbuy has it on sale @ 749.99 (big difference)
749.99
Costco also selling the 850G 55 and 65. And surprising that Sony hasn't even published the price for these two. Costco usually sells when a manufacturer has an oversupply.

Costco hasn't been selling Sony for sometime - so interesting that they now have these models.

I am looking for a 43" TV at the moment, so I hope they switch back over to a VA panel on the X800G.
I owned an X800D a few years back and it was a solid set.

It looks like these have IPS panels and the MT5596 chip.

That's unfortunate. I wish Sony would stop using IPS displays.

How do I tell if my Sony x800e is detecting HDR content? It did automatically boost the brightness level to max but I notice there's no HDR logo that pops up briefly when starting HDR content like on my LG or TCL

How does the BFI compare to other previous sony models, I've seen lots of other 4k sony sets with bad scores on rtings.com.

Going to pick up a 65" 800G today and compare it to the 65" 850G I've got, my main concern is the speed of the processor for Android TV. The 850G is VERY quick, nearly as quick, if not quicker than a Shield TV. I'm seeing people say the 800G has an older processor though

Sony dropped the price to $599 (on sony.com) but put it back at $649. But Bestbuy sells it for $599.
