Sorry I guess I should have said in my experience not every tv because I dont own every tv nor am I an expert. If I connect my pc to a 60hz display there is no option for higher my 120hz samsung allows me to choose 120hz output my 144hz monitor allows me to choose 144hz my 4k 60hz monitor allows me to choose 60hz only so I can only assume those devices are accepting these variable signals whether it be 60 120 or 144 from my PC. And the only other thing I see is the tcl 4k 55 6 series 60hz has better colors and blacks but my older samsung 120hz way better motion handling and gaming. So I dont know TVs and technology are kind of frustrating

I did good. The panel I have is very clean and from what I can see zero clouding, banding or otherwise.

Not sure if it is RF. It's the remote that comes with the 617 (non Best Buy) model. The difference from the 615 version is the voice capability.

By any chance, would someone who owns this TV be able to tell me the distance from the top edge of the TV to the top mounting holes on the back? My TV is arriving on Monday, but my wall mount will be here today and I wanted to get a head start and mount the bracket. I need this measurement to make sure I'm mounting at the right height.

I have never understood why people go looking for trouble. If you can't see something in everyday content, who cares if something shows up in a torture test. There are no perfect TVs. If you look for it you can find something to complain about for any one of them.

I do it because I want to know what I'm getting into while I still have options.

These don't tend to be things I'll only ever see in a test, they tend to be things I'll eventually see at some point and won'tbe able to unsee.

The tests just make it easier to see them and be sure what your are seeing.

This I want to know about it when I can decide it's a deal breaker, not 2 months later when hockey season kicks into high gear or the first time I play a flying video game.

When your share your findings you help others decide if this is a good model for them and weather the issues they see are single unit errors or inherent to the model.

Well for one thing a hockey game has a lot of variables which might mask the effect making it harder to detect with certainty in that particular game.

I would like to know if the potential is there for the issue not just whether I see it in the particular game (s) I watch while testing.

That's the reason for the tests, they give you worst case scenario so you can cover your bases most thoroughly.

In the video of clouds I linked to is something I might we'll see in a nature documentary but it might not show up significantly in the ones I watch this week.

By choosing a scene that is most likely to show it off it's there I save myself the trouble of scanning hours of real world content trying to suss out if the issue was my set it that particular content.

Also using the same tests allows comparing to other people's results more easily than trying to get others to watch the same content you did.

Yes pretty much. Those who use these tests tend to be the ones who have a level such that it's of interest to test fit these things... I would say Avsf is the last place you should be surprised to see people like this

Any idea when another retailer will be selling the 75"? other than Best Buy?. I want to pull the trigger but not at the current price tag and pay ridiculous NY state tax.

I'm surprised TCL doesn't sell direct like Vizio does.

That would be nice i know if i pull the trigger the price will go down on BB like 200 to 300 like a few weeks later or a month or two but i can get samsung q9 65" with warranty shipped for a little over 2 grand so i'm debating . So it will be about the same price for TCL after tax and warranty but already have a 65" Hisense and want to upgrade to the 75" .

I would not buy this TV at this price, no way. 1,399 and you got a deal. I might not be able to not give it a try at that price.

I was thinking that price also maybe even 1499 but agree. 1299 would be a deal! but most companies charge an extra 1000 from a 65" to a 75" or more which is nuts. The 65 at 799 looks good also and tempting..

If I still lived in NY I might take a field trip. Just down the end of the Jersey Turnpike lies Delaware. No sales tax. I often think about stopping there when I drive by. Heck, I'm driving up there again in Late March. If I thought I could fit this in the car I would be very tempted.

I think expectations were and are that the price would be a little lower. If you check BB's site the Vizio P series is about $200 more than the 6 series at the 55, and 65 inch sizes. Then, when we jump up to the 75 inch the 6 series cost is $100 more than the P series. There just doesn't seem to be any logic in it.

Mine is coming today. Exchanging my Samsung qled q8 75" for one of these. The Samsung was nice but the motion was irritating me even after I spent so much time tweaking the settings. Can't spend 3,500 on a TV that irritates me. Every time motion would get choppy, the number "3,500" would pop up in my head.

I had the 55p605 and never noticed any issues with motion. I hope to have the same with this new one. I'll be sure to post back my thoughts and comparison to the q8. I'll also plug in my laptop and computer both to see if it can read that it's a 60hz or 120hz display.

In some ways, and possibly in important ones too (won't know until the review is done), this tv is a better tv than the Vizio. Given their differences, and that those are also personal too, $100 isn't really anything... especially not for a 75". lol

I'm a her.

For those who are truly, and sadly, disappointed, during this period in the season, perhaps you should wait until the end of the season- that would be a little more realistic.

Well I wouldn't ever but any TV when they are first released. That is for people with excess money, for which sadly I don't not have. I just thought these would be a little less expensive than this. No biggie, everything drops from here.

Yea, that's all well and good. But does not explain why it's only more expensive in the 75 inch size. I have spent a boat load more money on some TVs. Money is not the question. The question is why ?

My guess is because it's a new model, and therefore there isn't much room to move from MSRP right now. When the Vizio P75-F1 came out, the MSRP was quite a bit higher than the current street price. In fact, I believe the current MSRP on the P75-F1 is actually $1,999.

My humble main system:
Vizio M75-E1; Oppo 203 universal UHD player; Denon 4300H AVR, Dual PSA S1801's; Monitor Audio Silver RX-6 mains, RX center, and RX surrounds; one pair NHT mini Atmos speakers; Home-built HTPC (Xeon E1230, 16gb RAM, Crucial M500 480gb SSD, GeForce 980Ti, Corsair CX600, CoolerMaster mini-ITX case); Roku Premiere+; Amazon 4K Fire TV

I've spent a boat load too.

Everyone agreed, after the reviews of the last two P series that they were under priced- the biggest bang for the buck. It is possible that the R model performs at least as good as Vizio's P series, which would make the R still reasonably priced, if not a little under priced. PQ being equal the TCL has more to offer, especially for cord cutters or those who don't want to pay Spectrum for another box. I think the review will tell us all we need to know about it's true value.

I'm not trying to hype this tv up, but I'm curious about this year's improvements since I owned the P607 and returned it. I bought a Sony 900E instead. I've got a 65" Panny ST60 (plasma) that I'd like to replace with a 75." I'd prefer the Sony, but that's nearly twice the price of TCL. It won't be a Vizio, but it might be the TCL if they've significantly improved the things I didn't like about the P607. If not, there's always next year.
