The OC box fits on the pedestal and somewhat nestles in below the screen. It's kind of serendipity that it works out that way since this isn't exactly what the stand was meant for but if you don't mind the loss of access to the control buttons on the panel itself it gets the job done.
are you saying it fits right here where I put the arrow?

I'm not sure you could get it quite that far back because you still need room for the OC plug and your cables coming out the back of it, but honestly I didn't try jamming it back as far as I could. I'm talking about directly under the screen, kind of half in front of it and half behind it. The OC box can just make it under the screen, but you'll probably scuff the finish on the top of it from the buttons on the bottom of the display.

Yep, still happening from time to time. No real pattern to when nor why it does it. Annoying, but hell, it could have worse issues!

I was a little concerned about the base but it turns out that it's actually pretty stable. It was also a pretty convenient place for me to put the OC box until I got the extended OC cable.
I agree.

I was able to maneuver the 75” Q9FN onto my stand alone, just barely. No helper available at the time.

But, the 82” Q90 is a completely different ball game. That set is no joke! Myself and my step son lifted mine up about 3ft to get it resting on my elevated tv cabinet and it was a struggle. A third person would have helped a lot.

Also, my eyes are level with the bottom edge of the screen and sitting about 9’ back the picture looks perfect. Don’t stress too much about the height guys.

? for you all, can someone recommend a good wall mount for the 82 inch version of this TV? I would like to have a full motion wall mount, as it will be inside a entertainment center.

I know the LG C9 limits the LPCM channels to 2 over eARC...does the Q90 have any similar issues over its ARC?

I don't believe it's possible to send multi channel PCM via ARC.

Our engineering team is working on adding the eARC support to Q90R series. It will be available in a month or so.

There is about 1/2 inch of play to use up. If it's off more than that, then it's a pretty big deal to reinstall the mount and the TV would have to come off but it can still be done. Here is a picture of the instructions with the allen wrench on top.

Thank you for this info. The thing is they need to also lower the TV by about 4 inches so no matter what they are going to need to take it off the mounting. Thus it is going to need to be leveled all over again anyway.

I just got my 82Q90 and so far I'm very impressed. The only issue I have is updating the software. Mine came with 1303. At the Samsung Site I noticed the latest is 1303.7. As with my 75XBR940D, efforts to update the Q90 online have failed. With my Sony I only succeeded using a USB stick. Using the same method with my Q90 fails, I'm always told I have the latest software. I am able to load the update on my USB stick, but my set simply refuses to acknowledge it. Even though the Q90 accepts the USB stick and tells me to search it for updates.

If any of you have succeeded in updating your software I'd appreciate any tips.

I'm pretty sure they are the same. over the years I've seen other people be confused by this also. how are the blacks compared to the 940d?

I took a chance on the blacks/blooming as I watch in a dedicated room with very little light and dark walls/ceiling. I used the Rtings settings for SDR and found them to be much to bright in my dark room. The cave scene in Prometheus didn't look like a dark cave at all. I lowered the backlight and brightness quite a bit, which resulted in blacks/blooming better than my 940D. Much better. White subtitles/lead in dialogue against a black background have some blooming, but much less distracting than what I'm used too. The SDR black floor is similar to the 940D, perhaps a bit better, but the higher brightness, when coupled with the set's blacks, is really something. While I haven't really dug into HDR settings yet, Sicario in 4k/HDR looks fantastic.

Bear in mind my environment is more like what you'd have with a FP, which I formally had. And I'll accept a little black crush in exchange for a deeper black. So what I did may not work for others. Still, I underestimated the 82Q90, it is really something.

Hello all! I am a bit of a nerd and enjoy watching Babylon 5, One Piece, and other 4:3 content. For some reason the Q90R is stretching these shows left and right. Any idea how to make the tv play in the proper aspect ratio? For fellow owners, go to the YouTube app and search for HDR channel, loads of content to admire the capabilities of this tv.

I have not damaged a TV yet, however I almost had a rear projection TV blow out of the back of my truck, I saw it going, let off the gas, it settled back down, whew...lol

That is strange. I’ve only watched one show in 4:3 via ATV4K’s Amazon Prime Video app and it played perfectly in 4:3 ratio with black bars on the side.

Well, that would be awesome! As a Q90R owner, I hope now this is just a matter of time

I guess there's no longer a point in being quiet about this if Samsung themselves have spilled the beans, so here is my mea culpa...it's not a troll, this is actually happening. Expect it via update in August.

And before anyone asks...I don't know if it will be pushed to the Korean site first, but I suspect it will be.
Will this be just the q90 or will it extend to all 2019 qleds (q70 in my case

Future Samsung Dolby Vision Support?

I'm a newbie to this thread, forgive if its been asked/answered already. Any news of Samsung adding/supporting Dolby Vision any time soon? I would buy the Q90 today if I thought there was future support coming. Thanks!

There hasnt been any news regarding this. But they might add to their next year lineup as most manufacturers are moving towards it. But even if they add it wont come to Qled 2019.

However Dolby Vision isnt required as the 2019 qled can tone map to reproduce HDR near Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision only really works with 12 bit 4000 nits panels.

I noticed a few pages back people having issues with what looked like 'stuck' or 'dead' pixels. Sad to say that I have just had the same thing but it looks like the sort of smudge Davin had rather than a traditional dead pixel. Anyone had any success on returning panels? Had mine for over a month.

I'm curious if ppl are going up to the screen to find bad pixels? I'm staying away from doing it. So far so good. Same with DSE... trying not to look for it.

No dse and blooming so subdued I don’t notice during regular use , finally the HDR adds a spectacular viewing component that must be seen to be appreciated.
Are you having to go into the TV's picture setting? I keep mine on "Custom" (Fit Screen?). I've noticed that some of our locals subchannels are stretching their pictures. That's when I switch it to 4:3 on the TV...

I do this during the initial setup of all my tv's, but I don't really care about single pixels it's just not a big enough deal to be concerned.

Sorry it was only confirmed to me that 2019 displays with the One Connect box are getting the eARC update. I didn't get clarification on the rest of the line.
