I wonder if a Fiber Optic HDMI would have done the trick?

Also, buying my first receiver. Any models or brands that work particularly well with Samsung?
at 15FT any cable with the badge below will work..... Denon, Marantz, or Yamaha seem to be the go to units.

I am going to be mounting by 65" Q90R. I just opened up the box and see the only screws it came with are for the TV stand. I currently have a Samsung 65" JS9000 mounted and will be re-using that mount. Will the screws be compatible?

If not, what size screws should I go get? Just want to make sure I have on hand what I need so I don't run into any surprises this weekend.

Also, in looking through what was included in the packaging, there are 4 small wall mount adapters. Looks like they'll just insert into the screw holes on the back of the TV. Correct? Is this just to prevent the screws from going in to far and damaging the TV?

Thanks for any insight!!

For those of you that purchased a Squaretrade plan from Costco, but not the Tv, it states pretty clearly that the TV has to be purchased from Costco as well. What am I missing?

From Costco:

“This plan is exclusive to Costco members. In order to redeem protection plan coverage, TV and plan must be purchased from a Costco location or Costco.com.”

That's a recent restriction added to Costco's SquareTrade sales policy. Just implemented in early June.

Xbox doesn't support eARC so it won't matter. We'll have to wait till Scarlett. I grabbed an HDMI switch so I could experiment with what I like best without switching cables all the time. I've all but settled on leaving it direct to the AVR for the enhanced sound quality (especially for Blu-Ray).
no need for xbox to have earc or arc, its only needed between tv and avr, you not sending any info back to the xbox its output only.

Ah. That’s what I was thinking it was. Damn. On the plus side I bought mine with an Amex so the warranty doubles. In theory.

I went into Costco on Monday and asked about the change. The folks in the store were not aware of any change, and told me they would sell me a warranty if I brought in my receipt for the TV.

No. Might be a particular user's TV settings or the source of the sports material....or both!

Since the TV is too big for me to easily move, I figure this is a good deal for $50. Samsung kind of hides this option - you have to know where to click when checking out. I had called before ordering, and was told about the White Glove option.
SAMSUNG DELIVERY IS A JOKE. They outsource the deliveries. You are at the mercy of whom every AGS can get in your local area. And I would bet that you only get one person and you just threw away $50. BUT, AND THERE IS ALWAYS A BUT, you might be the exception but I sure wasn't. Good luck.

TV has absolutely no issues. NO blurring what so ever. Hockey and Golf look perfect. I own both OLED and QLED and Samsung performance is excellent. I agree, issue is with source or settings. Do a factory reset and start over with your settings. Good Luck.

from what I've learned, the only change is you now need to be a Costco member to buy a warranty but it can be from any authorized dealer.

looks like I have a defective led/zone or 2.noticed it tonight after I threw a movie in and then out some black level tests. it causes a big bloom/cloud on darks scenes and a blueish spot on light colored screens.

I can also say that so far the dimming performance has been pretty subpar. widescreen bars are pretty terrible unless the entire scene is black. other wise they pretty much stay Grey/lit up the entire time it seems. gotta figure out what to do next.

Heres some pictures of the issue.

I have a Emovita XPA-1 and 7.1 Audio the XPA-1 is only HDMI 1.4b so I'm going to connect the HDMI from my 4K Dish Hopper 3 and my 4K KDlinks A400 media player directly to the Connect 1 Box. Then I'm going to use the Optical Outs from them to the Optical In on the XMC-1 for the audio until the new XMC-2 which will be HDMI 2.0 is available then I will trade in my XMC-1 for the XMC-2. My Q90R 82" arrives next Wednesday can't wait.

Emovita XMC-1, 2 XPA-1's, XPA-5, Salk Ht3 L/R Salk Center, 2 V1500 Subs, Pioneer Elite 60", KDlinks A400 Media Player, Pioneer Elite DVD, Emovita CD

2019 Samsung Q90R Owners Thread (No Price Talk)

That looks seriously bad @ray0414

I can assure you that my panel looks nothing like that. My black bars are inky black ‘most’ of the time. I do get the odd light bleed when an extremely bright object is close enough to the black bars, but even then it’s not that noticeable. The small black bars in some of the Netflix content is the worst offender, but it honestly does not bother me too much, probably because those black bars are so small anyway.

It appears that maybe there is more going on with your FALD than just that section of zones not functioning. I hope you you’re able to get a quick, and relatively painless, resolution. Good luck.

Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?

In some looking online, I see on Amazon there are wall mount packs with all different screw sizes / washers. M8 is sticking out to me as the size I used for my JS9000 5 years ago, can't remember exactly though. Anyone know if that's what's needed for the Q90R?

Thanks again...

How long is the OCB cable to the tv? (I ordered the 75”)

Edit: I found a spec sheet that lists it at 5 meters.

Wow Ray you have some terrible luck. My bars still light up noticeably in certain scenarios, but not nearly to that extent. With that zone acting the way it does the set is clearly defective.

The room looks great BTW.

I use an Audioquest cleaning kit on the rare occasions that I need to wipe down the screen. No special reason besides that I like the cloth it comes with and it gets the job done.

does anyone else notice a big difference between standard & natural pictures?

I usually set my tv's to standard, but on the q90, I had to use natural to get the picture pop that I like
the tv is in a pretty bright room with a lot of natural light
