I can't even add the 75 inch Q90 to my Samsung cart now.

I've actually stated many times that the 65 I had was not good with its uniformity. The banding was atrocious. Had it been mine, it would have gone back. It was visible on alot of content but I'm not sure if my friend has noticed it because I made sure not to mention it. So the 75 had better unformity (as also reported on the forums), better colors, better contrast, deeper blacks/more crush(tho I can fix the crush using settings on my Panasonic Ub820). The 65 was sharper with better dimming control. Both tvs bloomed in the exact same spots usually, with the bloom area being a little more wide-spread on the 75. The panel lottery applies to alot of things such as saturation and color gamut etc, but the actual dimming control should be the same and consistent unless something is broken. I did live with the 65 full time for a few days while I tried to return my 75 due to a yellow line that developed a few weeks later, and the blacks were a noticeable difference again but I'd still choose the 75. I'm making a warranty claim on my 75 soon and will request a Q90R by paying the difference.

In the picture here of the earth, I had to raise the exposure to capture the raised blacks otherwise the camera was crushing it to black. But what u can see here, is that the very top black is much more raised than the 75, it was very noticeable even from the couch. The 65, it appeared black to me, though it looks raised in the picture. But you can definitely see a difference.

You can also see a touch of bloom on the other space picture.

You can test 100 units of the 75" and even if they all have better uniformity, dimming, saturation etc. they'll still call it anecdotal. "sigh".

There's a reason I capitalized THEORETICALLY in my previous posts... there is no known reason for 65Q90 and 75Q90 reason to perform differently. Beyond size, the known specs for them are the same (same # zones, etc). Unless and until proven otherwise.
There is zero reason to suggest the Q90 will be different than any other tv that used the same number of zones on various sizes that all performed differently. But It's not a drastic difference unless you go 20-30". Sounds like you're hoping for an exception to the rule, not the other way around.

Definitely. But it looks like the 55'' Q80 will be the best available lcd at that size in the USA.

What you are trying to say is that if others have tested a large number of sets and their findings are all similar that the 75 as a whole is the better set, your conclusion that the 75 and 65 are identical in terms of quality, even though you have not tested these sets side by side, is the be all end all? Gotcha.

Yeah, I can't either. I even tried ordering from my phone, says shopping cart empty once I get there. If nothing else, at least they aren't ignoring the issue any more, someone had to do something to change the web site behavior in the past 30 minutes.

I wish you luck on making a warranty claim and getting the new model I tried that with my ks9800 last April that was 2yrs old and they said nope we will bring a new panel in which it took two panels before I got a good one. That was geek squad though.

Best buy doesn't do that unless they have to. Doing it directly through samsung is easier because they don't have to pay an up charge on the TV in the 1st place. Gotta wait for the 75s to be in the wild 1st though.

That makes since. I had a ks9500 which formed white spots in the bottom right hand corner it took a while to get through to the right person but finally they reimbursed me in full and that's how I got the ks9800 and a sound bar. The wife told me never again are we putting up with Samsung directly to solve a problem.

Received the 65Q90R replacement from Amazon this afternoon. This ones a keeper. ARC is working. I'm getting sound from Netflix and the other Smarthub apps through my receiver at last.

This Q90 also has the AA01 panel and there is no problem with DSE on this panel either. The picture looks great.

For those that like pictures of test screens I quickly snapped a few to upload.

My point was that most people won't change their seating distance in a fixed space. They will simply get a larger TV. That means a larger FALD zone. I agree that pixel density is not relevant from a normal viewing distance.

EDIT: Just saw that there was a lot of discussion on this already. Dead horse now.

This is a little reassuring after some of the issues. How do you feel about motion on the set?

Giving me good feels, friend! On test pattern 4 with the grid, how is the blooming on those white lines if local dimming was on? If not, when you watch some dark content, would you mind a quick mention on that? Thanks!

I just turned to ESPN and watched a few minutes of football and basketball highlights and it looked good to me. Nice and smooth. I don't really watch sports.

Give me a suggestion on what to view to that will stress the motion and I will let you know what I see.

Early owners become QC subjects. Almost all complex products fall into that.

Movies are my biggest concern. 24p stutter and judder has been a problem in the past on Samsung. Something with quick movement like a vehicle chase.

Even my LG OLED gives me the same issue thus went with A9F. Curious how good the motion is on the Samsung.

Congratulations!
I live in France and I have a 55KS9000 (9500 in USA).
I want to update because my LCD panel is broken, so I will have a refurb for that.

Can you test your TV with games? Can you post some pictures?

Haha. I don't mind if I can fit it in.

I'm trying to get this TV squared in my cabinet. There is no vertical adjustment on the TV mount nor on the cover that frames the screen. After moving the mount up in the cabinet, the TV screen is now ~ 1/4" inch or more higher than the frame opening.

The opening in the cover is almost exactly the same size as the TV screen. It requires moving the screws that the cover hangs on or the mounting brackets on the cover to get it perfect.

It's really not a one man job and my son's are gone until next week and cover is too heavy for my wife to manipulate safely. I will be spending a lot of this morning trying to do it by myself without harming the TV.

I have an Oppo 203, so can you test BR UHD with this Q90R? Blacks look deep?

The general quality of the TV looks premium or not? Because on my 55KS9500, it's really good!
I don't know if I take a 65Q85R or 55Q90R, because it's the same price in Europe
