Products are hitting the market right now with 2.1 support as are Nvidia's new "Super" cards which should include that by now but are not. Neither are the new AMD cards releasing now, again, as other products are releasing now also including HDMI 2.1 support. Not all but some. If any manufacturer can do it, so can Nvidia. Or are they too pre-occupied with self loathing vehicles?

Starting to think I might possible need to look into a new Ethernet switch. Only connections to the OCB is Ethernet and ARC to eARC on the Denon S750h receiver. Denon handles all other connected peripherals.

Other than that, the TV has been outstanding.

Thanks in advance...

I think your expectations are set far too high. I suppose the Super cards could have implemented HDMI 2.1, but at their core they are nothing more than gently modified versions of the existing RTX cards. HDMI 2.1 is the niche-est of the niche ATM. Why on Earth would Nvidia include this at this point? Beyond a small handful of high end 2019 televisions there is basically nothing on the planet that supports it yet, and it's going to be that way for some time to come. Do you really expect them to cater to a tiny fraction of the 1% at the expense of their massive user base? The expense of their cards are prohibitive enough for most users as it is without tacking on extra things they can't even begin to use.

That's a loaded question because according to Steam analytics and the entire gaming community, the majority still game at 1080p while Nvidia is pushing 4K graphics in every single piece of marketing as well as supporting large 4K G-sync gaming displays. I guess they're not catering while at the same time still catering? Either way, I'm not much for peoples excuses for why trillion dollar tech companies that are trend and technology leaders always on the cutting edge tend to not support something that other companies that are merely blips on the radar can already do.

It wasn't intended to be a loaded question, but your answer illustrates my point beautifully. The majority of people do play at 1080p but for those PC gamers that DO push the 4k and performance envelope there is Displayport, which is currently widely available and Nvidia supports extensively...including on the BFGD's coming out.

Regardless, I'm letting this go now. The Q90 doesn't have HDMI 2.1 currently, making this whole discussion irrelevant to the thread.

I’ve seen multiple reviews showing two remotes included with the Q90r, yet a few people only mentioning one remote. I am still unable to open mine to see for myself. Anyone have insight into this?

Cheers

The rep you talked to was reading from a script and did not realize this is a current model, with this TV being in the middle of the production year run, you are getting the same TV......

Q90R Settings for Football
Anyone have good settings for watching football. I noticed when the camera is zoomed out the players look extremely blurry. Zoomed in perfection. This was the case for multiple broadcasts.

Thanks for pointing that out. I should have checked to see what all their current products were. I just checked out the AV7705, and while very nice, I decided I’m gonna go with the AV8805. I’ll be ordering one today and hopefully it’ll arrive by early next week.

The zoom in cameras are much higher quality. With the NFL starting 4k broadcasts this year, hopefully the cameras start to get upgraded.

Do you have the model for the silver remote you get in the UK? We get a cheap black plastic one in the US and I'd like to replace it.

Version 1315

It's posted here, but not on the US site. Wonder if they are releasing a different version state-side? No release notes, and Samsung support said there were no notes available - that it was likely just updating the built in apps. I decided to install it anyway. No major changes. No mention of eARC in the menu. I didn't check the service menu to see if there is a reference added either. I also wasn't motivated to check because I don't have an AVR that supports it.

There is still an appreciable audio delay when using DD over ARC with an external device.

There is still an issue with ALLM not working properly when used in conjunction with Freesync.

Try if you dare!
