A screen lottery for their flagship model is unsettling. But, you were fortunate the first one clued you in so you could clearly identify the second one was defective. You were also fortunate that the 100 day return window allowed you to replace a model Samsung never should have released in the first place.

You're just a lucky guy, how about some stock picks?

Lol yeah I suppose I was lucky in a way as if the first set wasn't faulty I would have kept it and the 100 day offer would have been finished so I wouldn't of been able to return it. I do agree with you in a way. I never expected them to release an updated model to the Q900 so soon. I mean it was only released around Late October, early November and then 2 months later at CES there announcing a Q950 and updated version with what seems like pretty big improvements especially the viewing angles and the new filter. Lucky I have been able to return that for a full refund and currently waiting for most likely the 75 Q950 to be available for order. Will be interesting to see how it compares with the same content to the Q900.

Anybody else rolling with the latest model no gap mount? Guessing the machine screws for the 2018 Q9 model would be the ones to try first. In my preferred mounting height it appears to me the bracket will have to overlay both the existing in-wall power outlet and low voltage box. I intend to use some foam padding as a stand-off behind the mount so it doesn’t crush the faceplates, and I have a secondary hole where I can drop the One Connect cable. Since I am creating a small gap behind the mount I intend to use the screw in standoffs that seem to go towards the bottom of the display, to prevent tilting. Would welcome any comment as well as whether I should bother with these magnets that screw into the wall and also appear intended to prevent tilting. I found the wall mount instructions to be very confusing.

Very curious to see early adopter feedback in the areas of dse, black detail, sdr saturation, tint of whites, and local dimming in game mode.

Will not be long now then

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to purchase the Q90 in 75 inches. I usually buy at Bestbuy. Are we aware of any current deals on it?

Doubt you will find any 'deals' since they are only just hitting the market. If there are any deals, they would appear in the Deals thread.

Thanks, I'm personally hoping BestBuy will at least remove something off the Dolby Atmos speaker I'm getting.

If you open a BB credit card you get 10% off your first purchase. It comes in the form of certificates that are available 20 days after the origrional purchase. You could wait to pick up the speaker 20 days later then use those certificates to pay

They just listed the 65" this week. I'd guess another month before they have the 75" in stock. Amazon hasn't started selling it yet either.

I know this is essentially a Q90r owner's thread but I was wondering if anyone here is considering the Q80r. Unfortunately there is no Q80 thread at the moment and my TV is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning. It will be replacing an almost 13 year old Samsung that has served us well and is still going strong. I am very excited to make the leap to 4K finally.

Super excited to hear the new owner's thoughts on this one. I currently have a 75 in z9d and would love to hear some real owners impressions and even see some photos. The initial reviews have been really good. Hope it doesn't have the uniformity issues of the q9fn.

Are you saying you have a Q80 being delivered? Perhaps you should start an owners thread. I'm sure many are anxious to hear feedback. 😉

You should open a Q80 thread since it seems like your one of the first to get one. Many would be interested in your thoughts on it.

"Isn't widely regarded" - now that's an understatement! lol

He really never met a conspiracy theory he didn't like.

Don't think I have heard him say one positive thing about anything of consequence in his videos.

Curious - do these use the same One Connect Box and One Connect Cable as the Q9FN's (2018)?
That would make it a much easy install for someone replacing...

yeah that guy is on the negative side, but I appreciate his honest reviews.. Most other sites would review that same set & say the Q90R has some blooming but it wont be noticeable to most people lol

Not sure how honest his reviews are... but anyway...

There is no way the Q90R looks as bad as he made it to look.

Either that, or he got a severely defective TV (doubtful) if it even is a Q90R.

Well the 2019 box has 2019 processors and newer version of tizen. I think the cable is the same.

Well I'm bummed. My Q90 didn't show up today as scheduled.

I contacted Amazon customer service a few minutes ago and she contacted the carrier. UPS told her the order seems to be lost in transit. So she created a replacement order with a one day delivery and said I have a guaranteed delivery by Wednesday March 6th.

She also gave me a $50 promo to use on a future purchase to help make up for the inconvenience.

Hopefully nothing else go wrong.
