These are YouTube 4K videos from the app on the TV. I'll have more once I have had a chance to play with the picture settings on the set. The first two are off angle views. The last one shows the reflections in a bright room. It's not perfect but compared to my old set, it is much improved. Sorry about the images, not sure why they are rotated.

Thanks for the photos. Difficult to judge until we see a full review, but there seems to an absence of the over-bright white and green highlights sometimes seen on the Q8FN - what Vincent Teoh described as a bump in the EOTF curve on similar behavior observed with the Q9FN.

The photos were taken with my phone's camera and really doesn't do justice to the 4K videos. The TV looks great to me. Granted it's not perfect but really, are there any sets out there that are? I'm enjoying this TV and happy with my purchase.

Yes but as I mentioned in an earlier post, my TV is not mounted but on a stand that is at eye level with my sofa so the vertical angles when I stand up are not as extreme as if I were sitting way off to the left or right.

Can you add DSE pictures to that list? Thx.

Mine is mounted and from any angle the picture color doesn't shift as far as I can tell. I even got under the floor under it and it still looks great. The viewing angels are crazy!

I think from other thread it's double the q8 so 96. I haven't had a issue with blooming that I've seen so far just in normal gameplay with anthem. I have my Xbox one X connected too it.

That’s awesome, nice job Samsung! How’s the upscaling, shadow detail, motion, brightness, color? And generally for what you watch, how’s the picture?

I got my 65" Q80R 2 days ago. Love this TV. Granted, coming from a 10 year old 55" Vizio TV anything will be better, but this TV rocks. Never seen so many bright colors before.

Was able to connect my new 4K Apple TV last night, it looks awesome. Streaming does take a little of the image sometimes, but that's expected.

So for the people that have this set, have you had a chance to play around with the settings yet? Was wondering what your configurations are set to and what picture mode you are using?

Does this have the 1-connect box?

Has anyone been able to see one of these in a store? The local BB said they won't be up for display for a few weeks.

Yeah this place has a lot of members that are more particular than your average viewer. It is nice to see some folks happy instead of picking their technology to shreds.

Yep many of the members here go looking for problems that they then can't "unsee" and get on the return merry-go-round. When I get a new TV, I put on the type of content I watch, adjust as necessary and if nothing bad pops out, that's that. I don't expect perfection, because all TV technologies have flaws and no individual panel will be perfect. Of course it helps that my retirement income keeps my expenditures on frivolities like a TV to well under $1K per so I end up with low to mid end. I can understand that if you spend $3.5K to $5K on a TV that you're likely to be a bit more critical of any flaws.

Agreed, much healthier vibe in this owner’s thread than the Q90 thread. Find tv, buy tv, enjoy tv. No running slides looking for dse or other irregularities that otherwise go unseen on normal viewing.

Those viewing angles look legit. This is huge for VA tech. I am super interested in picking this model up (55"). I want to see RTINGS put it through some tests.

Couldn't agree more. Just way too many people on this forum bashing each others choices in television sets. I am enjoying the beautiful 4K display and in the end that is all that really matters to me. Is the TV perfect? No but that's mainly from watching crappy 1080p cable channels. Some channels are better than others with their broadcasts and those look amazing upscaled.

Also, the viewing angles are legit. Can definitely say that sitting off to the side while watching, you do not lose any picture clarity. I ran out and bought a copy of Avengers Infinity War in 4K and the picture quality was beautiful.

Just a bit excited.

I recently purchased a 65 inch Q6 through Best Buy trying to save a bit of money. Overall solid picture but as I watch a ton of hockey the DSE and banding were brutal.
So I initiated a return and went with the Q8FN which was going for around $2200 at Best Buy.

It then dawned on me that through my job we are part of a Samsung EPP and sure enough we could get the 2019 Q8OR for under 2k which made it a no brainer.

Can't wait for it to get here and see how it looks. I realize that QLED\LCD all run an general chance of DSE\Banding and that the Q9 is the flagship but that would have run me another $500 or so.

Looking forward to adding pics, settings, thoughts when mine gets delivered which sadly isnt until the 20th but hey that is okay given the costs savings I made over retail.

Definitely one of the reasons why Samsung is still on the list for me, specifically the Q80R. Just need them to put up the 75"!

Thanks!!

Even with the price I'm still worried that watching a hockey game is going to reveal DSE or banding.
If that happens not sure what the next move is.
