How were they able to provide that info? What number did you use?

Open Box Worth it... Gaming TV.

So I’m looking at a few 75 inch open box units as the price seems good for an 8k set at 75 inches. My question is this..

Do we know if this set has HDMI 2.1 or not if it’s the 900rb model?
Can it do ALLM, Forum VRR, and FreeSync - Everything I see points to yes
Can it do [email protected] 4:4:4. (This is my biggest concern, and I guess it needs to be HDMI 2.1 to be able to do this)
[email protected] would be nice, but what is this not called a real 8k set next to something like the 800T, 900T, or 950TS?

My other option is the 65 Q90T which would actually cost me more for less of a tv.

I have no idea, should work as advertised but we have no HDMI 2.1 output devises to test.....

4k VRR

So i'm going to look at an open box 900rb tomorrow and wanted to clear some things up with Samsung before I went to find out.. It may be repeating somethings we know but,

[email protected] RGB 4:4:4 confirmed
[email protected] RGB 4:4:4 confirmed

What I couldn't get a clear answer on was the VRR range... They said it might do VRR at 120hrz but it will lower the resolution. So does this mean the 2020 line can do [email protected] 4:4:4 with vrr up to 120 but the q900rb cannot? This is critical to my purchasing choice tomorrow.

Apologies for the delayed response - just noticed this

So - I called customer service and asked them I needed help with setting up the universal remote - during the conversation the rep asked to login remotely - and after she did that a screen came up on her end which stated the life of the screen.

While I was on the phone I asked the tech - and they said lot of people were asking the same question and multiple times they had forwarded the request to higher ups - and so far there has been no reply.

I did not actually, the open box wasn’t in the best condition so I ended up ordering a Q90T as I couldn’t justify the price jump up to the 800T

Hey everyone,

I just purchased an open box Q900 (2019) from Best Buy. I just wanted to confirm that this has HDMI 2.1 correct? I know the 2018 versions did not and were promised a one connect box upgrade but I cant seem to find any details on whether the 2019 TVs have HDMI 2.1

Any info would be most helpful! Thanks!

So I just downloaded The Explorers from the internal tv app store. It says hd/4k/8k and even shows the 8k HDR badge, which I believe is hdr10+ even!. under the account it says I have 3 free months from Samsung. The problem is, under the category that says 8k, the picture is washed out, and definitely not 8k. There seems to be no way to tell what resolution is being displayed. Anyone else try this out? Looks pretty cool, if this would actually play back in 8k. I remember europe was to get a bunch of 8k apps, this one included, for their 2019 q900r.

**so I got HDR working, looks great. regular HDR, not +, but thats cool... Ordering a long ethernet cable. It streams for a bit, then hangs up buffering . Theres about 10/15 50 min clips that say 8k on them. first two are not HDR, but the rest are. from what I've seen, its pretty high quality photography

Actually, they updated the app so that you can't change streaming quality I think (I could choose 8K/87mbits manually at the beginning). But true, you need to go through all to see that quality varies a lot between the documentaries, some (few) are really 8K, others look like recorded with some bad mpeg 2/4 codec.
I haven't checked for new content for a while.
