Nope. Doesn't happen to me. However, I suggest the following tips I've heard from other Samsung threads.

1) Unplug the TV overnight, then plug the TV directly into its own wall socket, even if you need to use an extension cord or single surge protector. Don't plug it into a surge protector with other devices.

2) Update to the latest version (1315.4) and do a factory reset.

This happens to me on occasion (maybe once or twice a month) with the RU8000 and I just turn it off again. Usually happens within a minute of turning it off the first time. If you read some very old threads on Samsung TVs, the TV used to turn on by itself in the middle of the night so after a minute is a good thing. Never happened to me on the NU8000 or any other Samsung TV. If it gets to be a real nuisance then I may look into doing something such as suggested.

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me?

I bought the 65” ru8000. However can’t set it to 1440p at 120hz on the nvidia software panel. Only has 1080p at 120hz, any suggestions? Thanks

Not sure what's wrong because the RU8000 supports that natively. Maybe it's an issue with the Nvidia software panel? Did you try PC mode?

Hi everyone,

Picked up a 75" RU8000 last Friday, and I'm noticing pretty bad flash lighting / LED bleed coming from the corners. I don't have a picture on my, will get one later, just curious if anyone else has had any problems like this? Most reviews were on 65" and state they had none. Hoping maybe I just got a bad one, I've got a while to exchange if needed. It's noticeable enough I could see it even while watching flashy dark scenes in a space movie.

My 65" is perfect. I obsessed over checking it when I got it. You should definitely return yours. That sounds horrible. My panel looks like a flat black slab like it did in the store and that was a 75".

Hey all! Wife and I recently purchased this set coming from the Samsung un50f6400. Happy with this tv over all. Got the 75” model. One thing I did notice was the dimness of the picture in SDR on movie mode. It’s not a backlight dim. It’s like the picture lacks something. I kept default settings for majority turning all extra processing effects and eco settings off. Color temp to warm 2 (as I prefer this) and color space to auto. I use a Sony 4K Blu-ray player and my PS4 pro mainly on this tv. The setting i noticed that was different than my old set was the gamma settings. On my old one it just said “gamma” and had a slider that went from -3 to +3. I always left that at 0. However this one defaults to BT 1886 with the same slider option set to 0 as well as an additional preset of 2.2 I can choose instead. Messing with the slider on the BT 1886 or changing to 2.2 fixes the issue so I think it’s a gamma thing, however I’m not sure what the correct or best setting would be as I don’t want to screw things up. Anyone have any input on this? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hello guys, i bought this tv like a week ago and im not very happy about it, i feel the image very dark, cant make it brighter, im playing on a ps4 pro, while playing fifa 20 all the time it looks like im playing at night because of the brightness, plus other games wich are enchanted for ps4 pro dont look bright enough, is there a way to make the screen look brighter?? i saw some guy messing with the game and other configurations, also notice the bluring while the balls is moving too fast, i dont like the game mode, i feel it like it makes the screen even darker, i use dynamic mode all the time with i feel is the less dark, appreciate any configuration you have to make it look brighter

Read this closely and follow their game settings.

I bought a 65" RU8000 primarily for gaming. I prefer high FPS so I use 1080p/120hz Freesync with a 5700 XT. Works great. Although it's getting better, Radeon drivers are not bug free for everyone.

I never setup the internet connection, as I don't want to encounter any Freesync breaking/rebooting firmware update bugs that were reported with the 2018 lineup.

Sorry for not replying sooner. Been super busy. The only thing that has worked for me is changing the gamma settings. I’m just not sure which setting is most appropriate as I don’t want to mess up the picture.

As said on the first page, using Dynamic instead of Movie squeezes out a higher peak brightness and lower black levels from this panel, but the tradeoff is that you get CE dimming, but I think you can turn that off in the service menu using the code found ITT. I don't know why people use the Warm2 preset because it makes the picture way too yellow for my tastes so Standard is perfect for me with Dynamic.

Anybody have the Ru8200 Best Buy exclusive version? It seems to boast that it has more dimming points, but doesn't say if it actually has true local dimming, and the best buy rep didn't know what I was talking about.

Samsung UN65KS8000 - Denon AVR-X1200W - PS4 Pro - PS3 - Samsung UBD-K8500

Ended up speaking with a Samsung rep. It doesn't have local dimming.

I jumped on it as I have a plus membership and they were offering 3x cash rewards or 6% which works out to more than $100 additional discount.

Just got one yesterday. One of the reason's I got this was I wanted a large 4K for productivity. I was extremely disappointed when I hooked up my PC. Web browsing looked like garbage, gaming looked like garbage, everything was faded out. It confused me because the 4K demos on the TV's YouTube app looked really good color wise.

Then I had the bright idea of turning off the HDR in Window 10's display setting. Holy cow what a difference. Web browsing is awesome, gaming is awesome, YouTube videos look more or less the same as the TV app. I must have done something else with the settings because I don't remember the picture going from acceptable to garbage when I turned the HDR on in WIndows. I must of not had the input labeled as PC or didn't have game mode on or something.

Anyway that's my experience. I'm really happy with it.

Thinking of the 49" version of this for a bedroom. Any thoughts on that?

Don't know if you have issues with space in your bedroom, but I would definitely upgrade to the 55 inch to get 120hz and Freesync, which is missing in the 49 incher. The quality of the refresh rate of this panel is one of its biggest features. And with the recent price drop you might as well get those 6 extra inches.

Looks like I found the right place! Just picked the 65” from Costco. So far I love it for everything except for live sports. I have tried several settings but every once in a while I get a slight “judder” or lag (not sure what the right term is). It’s like the tv is running great then it has a very quick glitch. Happens every 5 minutes or so.
I’ve read to turn the motion controls off etc. which helped but still not completely gone. I have an older 49” Samsung that had he same problem and turning off the motion control fixed that one. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you!

I went ahead and ordered the 55" RU8000 today as best buy has a really nice sale going right now for only $550. Seemed like too good of a deal to pass up, am upgrading from an old 58" Panasonic 1080p set. Am really hoping this new set will be compatible with the OSSC for retro gaming & that the upscaling ability of the set will be good all around. Fingers crossed!

Speaking of which, how are the colors on this set? Do they pop? Anyone do any retro gaming on the set? Am curious how lower resolutions look & if they upscale well. I have upscalers for retro games that scale up to 1080p but still, I also have a RetroTink that linedoubles to 480p so am hoping this set can handle 480p decently without it looking too terrible.
