Anything defective with your 940E ? Or are you primarily concerned about improving the viewing angle ?

Just curious....
It developed a vertical line on the screen out of nowhere. I had geek squad protection so I got back what I paid, just need to decide what to replace it with.

5x6 Backlighting

From what I understand the X950G has 30 full array zones total. I assume the reason the black bars look so bad is because there are 5 rows of 6 rectangular backlights, and the top and bottom row are greater than the height of the black bars, thus the bleed...This seems to be an epic oversight/blunder on Sony's behalf...Basically Sony shooting itself in the foot!?!!

FWIW I just replaced a 900f 75 with a 950g. The 950g is leaps and bounds better than the 900f, especially off axis. The only ding on the larger versions of this set is contrast ratio. I can tell you giving up a little there is well worth it. With the 900f, if you walked away from the main viewing position, you would immediately see the instant wash out in colors and contrast, not with the 950g. Also everything else is better on the 950g. Like remote, smoothness with android, as well as the fact that it is actually intuitive. It knew that I was using DirecTV as my source and paired the remote to it....pretty cool. The only thing I don't understand is why did Sony choose to not go wide viewing angle on the 55 and 65 as well!
