I'll get flamed for this, but tough: I have an oldie but goodie Samsung F8000 that I'm still happy with. Do the new 8,000,0000,000K Tvs 'pop', have inky blacks, and enhanced edge detail? Yes, but, but...............there's an air of unreality about them when I see them in stores. Because after I look at them
and then glance at reality
, reality does NOT have the same poppy, 'enhanced' feel to it.
Even black stuff in reality doesn't look as black as those sets.
This is hard to describe, but there is a cartoonish emphasis in these sets that I don't see in real life.
I know, I know, I need to go to an eye doctor.
So, I still enjoy my washed out F8000 that looks just my living room when I switch from it to reality.
edit-I realize I'm looking at torch mode in the stores. Maybe if these were calibrated, they'd look more real to me,
