Dark room for A Sony 85" X850G

Hi Gents, thinking about ordering the X850G. I read a review about the Set struggling to have a good picture in a Darkroom setting, has anyone with this 85" model experienced this? Thanks

The 85" Sony X850G has a VA panel with high contrast ratio and deep blacks, so no problem with a dark room. Most reviews are of the smaller X850G models, all of which have IPS panels with very low contrast ratios and grayish blacks. IPS panel TVs are not suitable for a dark room.

Just to add, no local dimming on the 850g. If your not picky on blacks, it's a nonissue. Of course local dimming comes with its own problems(blooming). Pick your poison.

Best
