What to get: LG 86SM9070PUA OR SONY XBR85X900F

Good day everyone,

I'm hoping to get some opinions on which of these two sets you would choose and why?

I've narrowed it down to these two as they're both 85" (not looking for less) and right now they're both priced the same (+/- 200$)

I've spent all day yesterday researching both models and I couldn't find a reviewer that reviewed both models of that size, the ones that were reviewed we're smaller models and have different tech specs.

So I'm aware of their technical abilities just can't find a reliable on their picture quality.

My main use is watching/streaming and video games at 1080p (mentioning resolution to Sony's 1080p lag input). Not very big on dark room watching.

So I turn to you for any input for either of those models.

Thank you in advance for any opinions you share,

Thanks that's pretty straight forward,

Tried calling LG to ask about how many zones their local dimming has on that model and she said 12, I got confused I thought it was 12 for vertical zones I asked her how many horizontal or vice versa, she said no it's has 12 zones.

Seems kinda low for for an 86" but who am I to argue

Probably late to the party, but I counted on my 86SM9070PUA.. 12 x 5 = 70 zones. The Sony only has 50 or 60 .. way less. Let me know what you got, and what you think of it.

I love my 9070 except the local dimming algorithm needs major work for HDR modes. SD modes are perfect.

Sorry, but 12 X 5 = 60

I’ve seen 12x4 and 12x5. Either way, it probably spells poor FALD transitions and a lot of blooming.
