Hi, I have a 10UK series Panasonic plasma which has the dual HDMI blade, but unfortunately it is only HDMI 1.2 compliant. If I'm not mistaken the 11UK series uses the same blade and therefore is also only HDMI 1.2. Now I was reading on the internet that the TY-FB9FDD DVI board is HDMI 1.3 compliant. Does anyone know if this is true? I have an extra slot on my plasma for another board so should I install the TY-FB9FDD and use a DVI/HDMI adapter in order to achieve a HDMI 1.3 video connection? Is there an HDMI 1.3 blade that I can use instead for the 10UK series? Any help would be great. Thanks.

The TY-FB9DD is not HDMI 1.3 compatible, in fact it is zero HDMI compatible because it is not HDMI. It however is DVI 1.1 compatible and HDCP 1.1a compatible. It would pass HDMI with an adapter.
The dual-HDMI board TY-FB10HMD that comes stock in the PH10UKA, PF10UK, and 11UK Plasmas is HDCP 1.2b compatible.
It would not matter which board is installed because all curent displays cannot take advantage of the deep color or multi-channel audio of HDMI 1.3.
With your 10UK, you would see no difference in PQ even if you did have an HDMI 1.3 board. At this point, HDMI 1.3 is mostly marketing hype so you shouldn't stress about it.

I don't usually pick up stale posts; I would have PM'd but I'm not allowed...

Re:
' The dual-HDMI board TY-FB10HMD that comes stock in the PH10UKA, PF10UK, and 11UK Plasmas is HDCP 1.2b compatible.'
In the above post.

I've been banging my head wondering why my son's PS4 won't play on that card but will play through the DVI-D (TY-FB11DD card) so I asked Panasonic and this is what they said:
'The factory have now got back to me and I can confirm this unit does not support HDCP.'

But, also a Panasonic promo poster from the time clearly says that it does support HDCP, here:
"ach ach tee tee pee ess colon slash slash manualzz dot com slash doc slash 22898891 slash professional-plasma-displays"
"ach ach tee tee pee ess colon slash slash www dot globalaudio dot ru slash sadm_files slash pdf slash 12_propdp dot pdf"
(Grrr, can't PM; can't post links - sorry for the noise...)

At p12 (bottom left)

If Techniwizard is out there (or anyone else), can you remember back to where you got your information that the TY-FB10HMD did support HDCP?

Many thanks.
