Have my eye on the Sony 900F or 950G. Our living room can get very bright, and I'm not willing to spend the money on OLED. What is everyone else planning to eventually replace their Panny with?
I replaced the 42" G20 with a 60" LG 3d Plasma in the final year of plasma, that got replaced 2 years ago with a 55" LG B7 OLED. The G20 has been in the bedroom since. It's a tie between the G20 and the LG plasma for pq, the OLED wins hands down.

The LG Oleds are very reflective, if minimizing reflections is your goal then go with Samsung, they supposedly have the best matte screens. I can't remember the model, but pretty high end. At this point, wait and see what is announced at CES. I think that emissive quantum dots are still a year or two away.

I was in the same boat with my old 50G20 on whether I wanted to upgrade to 4k or not? I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger over this holiday sale season and ordered the LG B9. From what I've read, OLED was the only way to go coming from a plasma. It should deliver this week so, yeah, I'm excited

I replaced my Panny with the 55 inch LG C8 OLED -- you will not regret it!

Thank you! That is exactly what it needed to hear! Well, that, and the phone ringing with Pilot telling me they are on their way to deliver

I have a Panasonic Viera Plasma (TC-P50G20) that I updated to latest firmware to get Netflix. However after the update, the Viera Cast menu doesn't show any apps at all beyond the Viera Settings and the Market thing which doesn't seem to have Netflix, Youtube, etc. available.

Is this normal and is there any way to get those apps now?
Thanks!

hello @deathfalls and welcome

Panny announced the end of support for Viera apps a while back, and unfortunately, you will need to resort to a standalone streamer (or apps from a BR player, which is what I did for the in-laws who still use this TV).

That was what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Thank you for the reply.
