VT65 is the EU version of the NA VT60 while close, I would wait for reviews on the VT60 if you are in the NA market......

The worth will ahve to be decided by you, will it be an improvement? I have no doubt, how much and is that improvement worth the upgrade that is yet to be determined.....As far as the way the set is built no, that process is exclusive to the ZT series.

So.. basically this tells us nothing other than the fact that the latency can be decreased significantly from the numbers you get without game mode. It'd be a safe bet that the lag testing device's ~40ms (UK version) is probably where it's going to be for all models that have the "hexa processor" this year.

FWIW, they were comparing against a Dell CRT which most likely has close to 0 lag. They also mentioned having to disable every other image processing feature - noise reduction, contrast enhancer, etc. to achieve 0 lag. Here is their ST60 review for comparison: http://www.hdtv.com.pl/forum/panasonic/96121-panasonic-tx-p50st60e-test-otwarty-nowa-generacja-plazm-panasonica-puka-glosno-do.html

Hope to see one of these in person very soon, looking to upgrade a Samsung LNT-4061F LCD I've had for years... thinking of buying the VT60 or the Samsung F8500.

Anyone here ever do business with All Time TVs? They have the 60VT60 for $2300 w/free shipping. Seems like an awfully good deal to me. Kind of leery since I've never even heard of them before.

I'm looking to upgrade from an LN40A550 (5 years old). This will be my first plasma as well and I am also deciding between a VT60 or F8500. I am hoping that the VT60 will be as good of a set as the ST60. The ST60 is getting the best PQ to value ratio ever from CNET (or so says the front page)

Looks like it's actually $2400, but yeah.. great deal. Looks like All Time TVs are fairly reputable, although I've never done business with them. I'd trust them as much as any other online TV retailer, though.

On a similar note, the 60" looks to be the first size of VT60 that is truly "in stock" and shipping now. Saw one last week at a local store. They had it for $2499 (which I felt was a great price). I'm anxious to see what happens to the price of the other sizes, when they get those in. I'm guessing the 65" will be under $3000. Almost makes me happy that I won't have enough money for my new set until halfway through May. Prices should continue to drop, once all stores are all stocked up on all sizes/models.

I might look to get some glasses tomorrow:),,,yeah, $2399. Doing some research online AT TVs seems to be reputable. I think I'll take the dive. Just sent back a 60F8500 for a couple of issues.

The VT60 will be better, at least in PQ... HOW MUCH better remains to be seen. The VT60 has quite a lot more features than the ST60 (skype cam, touch remote, dual core processor, metal stand, one sheet of glass design, voice control, etc), but the importance of those features are going to vary from person to person. It's pretty amazing that the ST60 is getting such great praise on it's picture quality, and "technically" It's a mid-tier TV. I say, if you are looking for a 60" or smaller screen size, the ST60 is pretty much a no-brainer (as far as "value" is concerned). The 60" VT60 is a thousand dollars more. It's when you get to the 65" size that it becomes a tougher decision. Anyone willing to spend $2200+ (65" ST60) on a TV, may very well just spend the extra $700-800 and get the 65" VT60.

I am the proud owner of a 60VT60. Arrived this morning.

I went to the store on Saturday fully expecting to order a 60ST60. While my wife was filling out the delivery info, I asked when they would be getting the VT60s in. Turns out they had them on the floor, and could be delivered on Monday. Well, I had to take a look...

Of course, comparing the two was difficult, as the B&M had them on opposite sides of the store... but the VT had a noticeably better picture (not to say that the ST60 wasn't a fine looking set). The brushed aluminum and the V-stand was much nicer looking than the black plastic stand of the ST60. And the audio of the VT was reasonably good, whereas the ST sounded pretty awful...

Long story short, decided to pull the trigger on it (after convincing the wife). Got a really good deal on it as well.

Haven't had a chance to do anything other than connect it up to the PS3 before I had to shuffle off to work... but so far it's a sweet looking set.

Since I've gathered a lot of useful information from the users here in the past, if there's anything someone wants me to check out, I'll do what I can. My current plan is to see how the input lag through Rocksmith is... (we also picked up a new pre pro, so I have a lot of cabling, configuring and calibrating ahead of me this week).

I snapped a picture of the set (complete with glare from windows) with the iPhone on the way out the door, if anyone is interested in such things...

Here's a shot of the set. I'll see about getting some menu photos tonight (although there are a lot of menus). Just out of the shrink-wrap, no calibration... I think it was in THX-Bright Room mode at the time.

@znutz, screen glare is worse than the matte-finish Samsung DLP that it's replacing (that sadly died a few weeks ago). It's in a room with skylights, windows and patio doors and it's next to a door with a window in it, so it gets a lot of light during the day... Luckily, that's not when we do TV watching, but I think we will probably have to finally get around to putting up some window treatments.

It's about as reflective as you'd imagine having a sheet of glass in your living room is. You can see your own reflection in it. That being said, it seems bright enough to be watchable during the day (noting of course that I have not had the chance to try it yet, since the TV arrived about 9am)... but with the DLP, trying to watch at noon was just bearable if you put the TV into Dynamic (aka torch mode)... I expect the plasma to be bright enough if you put it into Vivid. I'll be able to say more in a day or two.

Watched a little of the Avengers this morning just to make sure everything was fine, and although the reflections were there, they weren't noticeable. Part of the rationale of bumping up to the VT was that it was supposed to have a better louvre filter... maybe that was a good idea...

The louvre filter is good for over head lights. Not so good for the other angles.

For a quick photo off a phone, looks pretty good. With the level of ambient light that is in the room, you would expect a slightly more washed out image. Looking forward to hearing more.

Thanks for the input. I went with the VT for the louvre filter as well. It is going to (room doesn't allow a choice) sit opposite of a large 6' picture window. I have heavy curtains and do most of my watching during the evening so I'm hoping I will be just fine.
