I still have my 768p (I think) panny plasma and the picture still imo looks good. I can look at odd angles and the it looks better than my newer LG LM7600 display (at the odd angles). Sadly Panasonic stopped its plasma production. I actually bought the LG cause of the passive 3D technology. If Panasonic were to offer passive 3D on a plasma it will be a no brainer for me but alas...

If so, it appears to have the same exact bezel and overall thickness as the Samsung plasmas mentioned above.
The latest plasmas are not very thick. Although they are still heavier then their LCD counter parts, they much lighter then earlier models. The correct model is the (see link) 51f5300

Badmeng, I dont think you realize you keep writing a model that doesnt exist.

I cant find this 51F300 anywhere.

I can however, find the 51F5300. Notice that you are leaving out the # 5.

Right now Best Buy has the Samsung PN51F4500BFXZA on sale for $399.00 in case anyone is interested. I imagine this will be he last of the plasmas once they are sold out. We are going to get one tomorrow to replace the Toshiba 42" LCD we have in our bedroom

Its not 1080p, hence the very low price...

Thats true but is there really a difference at 12 feet away? I personally don't notice one. Then again my eyes aren't the best in the world anymore. My current 8 year old Panny 720P stacks up quite well to the 1080p's I see everywhere else.

The 1080p model right now is $549.00 at BB. Just in case anyone is interested. For 200 more one can get the 60" F5300 at HHGregg or BB if still in stock.

Its a great price; theyve priced the Brown one at 749 and the Black at 799.

How do you feel about a refurb?

Refurbs can be had for about 699...

Actually I purchased our Panasonic TH-50PX600U at TigerDirect back in 2007 for $500.00 less than retail as a refurb with full warranty from Panasonic and when we got it home we noticed the card reader didn't work. We called Panasonic and they were out in less than a week and replaced the board for it. Since then its still sitting in my living room with an impressive picture that everyone raves about. I would say go for it if its in the original box with all the accessories..
The attached picture was taken with an older camera and doesn't show the Pannys true pq.

Also when I purchased my new PN60F5300B at HHgregg it was $799 minus 11% so I ended up paying I believe 749.00 including tax. Don't pay $699.00 for a refurbished one. I think BB has one in my area for less than $699.00 plus tax. I will check and get back and post the information.

Tiger Direct Refurbs I would buy in a minute. Not sure about Sears. I have had friends who have worked there and they ( Sears ) make some shady deals. JMO

I am in the Raleigh NC area. If you have an HHGregg close by they are always doing that 11% deal. Keep a check on their website and use it to get BB to match their price.

Well, the 51" is no longer available in my area.

Ill likely just get the 60. How do I get the 11% off exactly?

Look at hhgregg.com every night. Sometimes they will run this sale for 6 hours only. You have to check the website every day. Thats how I got mine. I passed on it a couple times before I pulled the trigger on it.

We are getting the 51" tomorrow at the local BB here in Raleigh. They have 2 left.
