I'm at ~800 on my 64" F8500. No issues and I have a small fan mounted behind it keeping air circulating.

500ish hours on my fourth panel. No obvious issues with this one. Previous ones had dead pixels, banding or electrical issues. Not sure I'll buy Samsung again. I let my 'need' to get a plasma before they are gone over ride my previous bad experiences with them.

I'll check on hours when I get home, but no issues yet and owned since July 2013.

Unless you count its 3D issue as an issue.

I'm not sure of my hours. I have never checked. I have had mine since June 2013. I had to have my power supply board rebuilt last month. Cost me $200 cdn.

Had mine since 2013. Two main boards and one power supply. Now the entire panel is getting replaced due to 3 red lines. I guess I should have invested in a fan .

Press Mute 7 3 7 Enter on the remote with the TV on (You might have to try a few times to get the timing down). MRT is panel time in hours. Turn the TV off to exit the menu.

It does seem this set is prone to a lot of issues and failures. It was new tech. by Samsung back in 2013, whose implementation, I suspect, had not yet been fully perfected (or the bugs had not been fully worked out). It's too bad they didn't have a couple more years to refine the tech. and make it more reliable.

I don 't have the extended remote (Canadian model) and my Harmony remote doesn't seem to do it (using central button 'ok' for enter). When I press Mute, the TV displays that the TV is set to use external speakers and that's as far as it goes. Ah well.

You might try doing it faster. It took me a few times.

I wonder if the earlier releases are more prone to failure.

5,934 hours with no fan modifications and no major problems. On rare occasion, it'll reboot itself but I'm not sure that isn't some app updating itself. 64F8500 sits on stand open all the way around. Room temperature averages around 74 degrees...wife likes to keep it cool.

Sorry and I hope it does not start with you but that is how my issue's started. It went from that to actual loosing audio to the TV locking up. Only way to fix it would be to unplug it.

Can you change the title of this thread to reference ANY of the 2013-15 Samsung plasmas: the 8500, 5300, 5000, etc. ?

Should get more posts and activity that way and avoid the need for separate threads for those models.

Samsung 60" 5300B: I have a Samsung 5300 B; got mine in Mid-May 2015, and just hit 2,258 hours today. Works out to about 80 hours a week, which has been pretty constant since I got it (a slight tick up for football season the last few months).

Couldn't afford the 8500 but very happy with this TV.

got mine in apr 2013 (3170hrs), no issues with the display at all, but the software has always been buggy. if i'm calibrating, i usually have to restart it a few times as it'll lock up the menus if i'm in there a lot. i never used the smart features until i moved, and i've had them freeze up on me twice in the last two weeks.

still, i'd much rather spend a couple hundred bux on another htpc than buy one of the tv's currently on the market. nothing's perfect i suppose, so i'll choose picture quality over features whenever i can

EDIT: i seem to be having issues with the tv disconnecting from my network now too. when the htpc was sitting in front of the tv, it was working great. that's why i decided i'd move it into the basement and clean up the living room set up(it's just the tv hanging on the wall now), but it seems after about 20mins or so, it'll say 'check network connection' and then stop playback. i'm going to try hooking up the htpc to a wired connection, and i still need to unpack and setup my router instead of using the one the ISP provided. my plan was run everything with cat6 cable on the network, as i've never had consistent wifi when trying to stream video.

Displays: Samsung PN64F8500/JVC X35
AVR: Pioneer VSX-1130K, 7.1/5.1.2 audio
Sources: HTPC, PS3, XBOX360, Wii
Control: Harmony One

I had mine of about 20months watching at least 4 hours a day and no issues with PQ although the TV tends to freeze up at least once a week when using the apps.

I'll m at ~865 hours since 10/14 on my 64". I have recently installed a rather loud fan for the back. It's mounted on a stand approximately 18" from the wall.

Only about 15 hours per week on the TV ? Do you have others you use in the house as well ?

Not really. I don't have a lot of time to watch TV....not sure why that is so surprising.

A bit under 1500 hours on a panel purchased in June 2013. Lines on the left side. Not happy.
