If your set has been on 24 hours a day for 31.92009132 years then yes that is correct.

I did that math too (shoe in for the prize money!!!!!) knowing it wasn't right.

I know that would be 7.6 hours a day and they had 3 young kids. Seeing the plugged in hours )11+ years and power cycle counts they seem reasonable but is it too many hours as it is a non Elite, non Kuro set???

Why did the counter go 10X?

I am getting lukewarm feet.

PDP-4270HD for $175 total investment? with 28K hours.

Am I good to go even though this is a 7th gen set and, compared to others listed, a budget machine. Will I be hauling it to the e-cycle and paying to recycle it?

I have the option of returning it as it is at my office on a trial basis. Should I wait for a Kuro (krp-500m) set even if it cost a lot more?

Thanks

I bought, for a song, a Pioneer PDP-4360 which has an excellent picture, deep blacks, and great colors. It has the following numbers

I could use some assistance with advanced color and picture settings.

I left the above unit and decided not to purchase after finding this set which I feel has as good or better picture.

Our TV, a Samsung PN60E7000, has just over 31000 hours on it.
(One thing to note: the main board blew a capacitor two years ago. We weren’t ready to let go of the TV yet, so we had it repaired.)

I’ve played literally thousands of hours of video games on it, and I’ve marathoned through the entire MST3k series several times on this TV over the past few years, and still - not a hint of image retention. Impressive.

The day is coming soon when it will be retired from the living room to the master bedroom..

Panasonic tc-p46g15 with 15,707 hours.

No service, still going strong, just bought an LG OLED c8 65”. Really good picture. We’re going to miss not having to mess with settings affecting soap opera effect and changing back to watch sports. When my daughter goes to college going to repurpose the plasma for that room !. 🙂

Why did they stop making plasmas???!!!! (Editorial comment; rhetorical )

Samsung PN59D550 12860 hours. Exclusively used for gaming for the past 6 years.
Relatively unused compared to others here. No plans to replace it, hope I get another 6 years out of it.

I've got a lot of catching up to do 587H

One of the final Pioneer Kuros shipped from Japan to Australia 60" LX-609A I had to wait months and months for the thing and I ended up packing it away in the original packaging for years while I completed my University Degree etc.

Came across this forum when I was searching for a way to check number of hours on my pioneer plasma. Bought a pioneer pro 1150hd new in 2007. My wife and I both were amazed when we happened across it at magnolia. We had a sony xbr 34 inch hdtv and did not like any of the flat panels we had seen before. They were bigger but the picture just wasn't as good.

Fast forward 11 years and we still love it and have never had a problem with it. Just keeps on trucking. We have 10 year old twin boys and the first few years of their lives we put a lot of hours sitting on the couch at all hours of the day watching movies and tv. Plus a few years ago my wife transitioned to working from home most of the time and likes to have it on in the background.

Anyways panel hours are 53534. Mtb 99999

Check it again and see if the meter jumped from 99999.59 to 6 digits?

Taken this morning..

(And as a testament to this TV’s resistance to burn-in: I’ve logged over 900 hours in Breath of the Wild with this TV. There isn’t a hint of IR or burn-in on the screen where Link’s hearts are displayed. I still adore this set.)

36150 hours and 29 minutes on my 2009 Pioneer Kuro KRP-600M (Pro-141FD).
Lost about 30% lightoutput in 10 years (maxing out at about 116nits in ISF-Day) but i still love it!

Just popped in the forum trying to figure out what to get for our bedroom and came across this thread. We still have a regularly used Panasonic TH-42PX80U that is 10 1/2 years old in the living room. It's on most of the night, and virtually all weekend with young kids. Found the instructions on finding the hours, and was a little surprised to see it already up to 25,975 hours. And it has been turned on almost 11,800 times! It has a touchy connection in the back with the power cord, as it will shut off if wiggled, but otherwise it works and looks just as good (although my eyesight isn't as good as it was 10 years ago) as the day I bought it as a price mistake from BB (almost half price because of a rebate mistake).

This is information that is automatically stored, that you can navigate to just with the TV remote? I have a panasonic plasma and am curious.

Here it is. 02/2013. No repairs, not a single problem. Still love the PQ.

2009 LG 50 inch PN 1080P plasma.

20154 and has never had a single issue. I now have the itch to upgrade to a bigger screen after almost 10 years. But the picture is so good that I would hate to do it.
